When you catch a member intentionally plagerizing other members - BAN THEM IMMEADIATELY

The constant nonsense posted to these boards will continue until you hire some mods that are proactive and know what they are doing. You need to tighten some things up around here and start banning ALL of the people that more than deserve a ban.

A classic example of this happened this morning in the main section.

I noticed a newb was stealing content from members and re-posting it as his own - on the same thread - multiple times.

It took several hours to get the content deleted, and when it was deleted you did not ban the member! What the hell? Why not? Content thieves and trolls are in high demand as forum members?

Why would you not ban a member that steals content from other members and re-posts it as his own on the very same thread?

Does anyone here that has access to a mod or admin console have a clue?

I don't mean to disparage any of the good proactive mods on here ---> but I gotta ask.

Where are they?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Might as well give it up, Don. Click on "new posts" and you'll notice of the 25 threads on the first page - 18 are pure spam.

If I see someone with multiple posts and obvious spam - I look at his other posts. Mods don't bother - they MIGHT delete one spammer's post and leave the others until someone else reports them.

If I hired someone to work for me and they operated at this level...I'd fire them. That is assuming I trained them and gave them the tools/authority they need to do the job.

Yeah, the dereliction of duty (especially on Fridays and weekends) is becoming overwhelming to say the least. I'm with you, most of these mods would have been gone long ago, replaced with folks or members that are ready, willing and able to do the job.

The current WF leaders can't seem to find qualified mods or a decent spam deterrent.

It's become so bad, and it's been going on for so long, that it almost looks like FL is intentionally trying trying to destroy the forum. Was Freelancer getting so much competition from the old WF that they bought the forum to dismantle it with an almost unforgivable lack of administration and moderation? I wouldn't think so, and I sure hope not...

      Cheers

Whoot! A small win for the home team --> the content thief has been banned.

Good going mods, please use this example as model for future actions going forward.

    Thanks
