Instant Email Notifications of Subscribed Threads

There was an ongoing thread about this issue: http://www.warriorforum.com/suggesti...fications.html that was closed because it was resolved.

However, it continues on a new thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...i-go-here.html

    Hey Mark,

I'm not having the same issue but we are already looking into it.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Um, I must be missing something, Mark. I just skimmed through the latter thread, and wasn't sure how it relates to the problem. Was something edited out here that I can't see?

I see now how that might have been clear as mud.

The first reference was to a "bug report" thread in the suggestion forum.

Someone thought I was talking about the bell indicator at the top of the screen in the black area which shows if there are new answers on subscribed threads. But I was talking about the email notifications of new answers on subscribed threads. Dan and the team fixed the bell notifications and so he closed the thread.

The second reference is an example of a thread I subscribed too but didn't get the email notifications even after Dan said the issue was resolved and closed the suggestion thread.

    Sorry for the confusion.

If anyone needs further confusing clarification, just let me know.

Oh, ok; thanks. It's the UTF-8 character in the thread title. The email notification software was only expecting ASCII characters, and choked before it could send you the email. It's a common error and a simple fix; no problem! Cheers!

The problem seems to be happening again: I stopped receiving update emails for (at least) one thread to which I am subscribed. Yes, I checked my spam folders, etc., etc. I only noticed this when I got a single update this morning, and realized that I'd missed a lot of the discussion. Based on this thread alone, it appears that the issue has persisted for at least the last five days.

Now, in case it's not obvious, these emails are a trigger for me to return to this forum. I was annoyed when management recently changed them so that they didn't contain the entire post, (because I don't really need to return for every bit of nonsense that gets posted), but for the site to not send them at all means that I can't even make that decision.

If management really wants people to keep returning to the site, it would be highly encouraging if the tech team could be directed more toward keeping this site functional, rather than adding features that no one requested or needs, (e.g., unretractable Thanks, invisible smilies, the entire feed idea).

When they made the change on the subscription emails, and then didn't respond to a request to fix it I figured they are desperate to up the thread views. They ass-u-me that by cutting off the subscription emails they will force people to view the forum. They are wrong. I just quit participating as much so my views went way down.
