I Notice The New Thread Format Removes My SIGNATURE...

Is that the direction Warrior Forum is headed?

I noticed that when I direct people outside this forum to a post I made that my signature (for a product that compliments the topic of my thread) is GONE!

If I'm going to participate here (and I think I speak for my brothers and sisters in marketing here), it needs to be a WIN-WIN. Not just a win for the owners of WF, but a win for me too.

If you guys are going to cut us out of our only opportunity to freely advertise our own products and services, you're going to harm us irreparably.

So, I'm just curious, is that your GOAL? To stop warriors from advertising their products and services in their signature, or is it just an oversight?

Hey, This is a forum. The fact that you can have your signature and pimp your products for free is a nice bonus to all.

But if you are going to get upset and only want to participate here if you can hawk your wares for nothing, then the forum will be better off without you.

If you take any time at all to read the suggestions here and the discussions in the off topic forum you will soon realize that people with your attitude are the main problem of this forum.

    good luck in your ventures

    Hi Al,

First, I would like to thank you for participating in the thread and acknowledge your personal attack.

I was simply asking a question. No need to be hostile or uncivil.

Yes, it IS a benefit of participating here that one gets to "pimp your products for free."

I have learned a lot from the warriors on this forum, both from the forum itself, and from the products they "pimp" (as you put it). I appreciate that they take their time to answer questions, and I appreciate that we are able to advertise our own businesses and products.

Throughout my time here, I have built several business relationships and even a friendship or two. I provide what others have considered helpful posts. (One member said a recent post of mine was "one of the best posts on Warrior Forum this month.") And, yes, I sell here as well. Perhaps "selling" is a dirty word to you, but let's face it, we're marketers. I like to think that's what everyone here is doing.

There is an old adage about "not muzzling the ox that is treading the corn." That is, if someone is performing a service for you, you shouldn't keep that person from participating in the fruits of the thing they are performing work for you on.

Yes, it is a forum, as you identified.

But this is not a charitable enterprise for the owners of Warrior Forum.

They make a LOT of money from the warriors who participate here. All of that content is used to generate eyeballs on this site and those eyeballs translate into profits. One of the benefits for warriors who participate in the forum is the opportunity to put in a little plug for their own business. I don't think it is unreasonable for warriors to be able to direct people to their own product or service in exchange for the massive traffic they drive to WF.

You may be of the opinion that's what's WRONG with Warrior Forum, but I don't think you have any qualms about Warrior Forum making money from Warrior Forum, do you?

Personally I think that is what is RIGHT and EQUITABLE since Warrior Forum is using the poster's content to drive traffic and make lots of money for themselves.

Is it a big thing if a Warrior who is providing valuable information has a little plug for their own gig and perhaps generate a few customers--getting a few scraps or crumbs from the WF table, so to speak?

I'm all about creating win-win scenarios.

    Again, it's just a question.

I noticed that in the new format signatures are being cut out...which I find highly unethical since some warriors actually PAY a $60 fee to be able to have an image in their signature. It doesn't seem right to me to take someone's money for a service and then not provide the service, or work against them so that the service they purchased is rendered inoperative.

But that's just me and, of course, I'm what's wrong with Warrior Forum in your estimation.

Sorry to have offended you in any way.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Pat

Thats an ancient religious reference with reference to people serving a group for free being able to accept gifts given without solicitation. It hardly refers to marketers trying to sell a product.

As Kay pointed out your sig is in place. It has been a rule of this forum for many years that you should leave links to your own site in your sig not include it in your post. If you were allowed we all would be allowed and every other post would be a sales post for our products or services.

Wasn't that the thread with that awful new age nonsense about if you believe in a certain level of income your mind will find the answer to achieve it. I was responding to that one when it was deleted. Its the kind of nonsense people love because its easy and simplistic rather than the hard work of developing real talent.

I got to say honestly my eyebrows went up when I realized it was deleted. it was the most impressive deletion I have seen in years if it was deleted for content reasons. It doesn't help that you thought it was in keeping with your sig.

I can see your sig which means if you can't see it...the problem is in your profile "checked boxes".

a post I made that my signature (for a product that compliments the topic of my thread)
    I noticed that.

So by your own admission, you placed and advert for your sig file
on the forum, and then had the neck to start a whining thread,
because you were too busy worrying over missed sales rather than
taking the time to see how the forum works.
    That's priceless.

Let's hope that expensive course isn't about forum marketing.
It may well be a waste of money.

    1. I personally believe that the thread was a good one.

Yes, he talks about belief but he also talks about figuring out your niche, figuring out what value you can add, marketing your tail off, etc. Besides talent he also talks about one of the ways Hollywood types get rich is through creating it once and profiting forever "products" and suggest doing the same. The guys from "Friends" are still getting royalties several years after the show ended.

I thanked the post and upvoted the thread and I never do that for the rah rah without substance threads.

The mods determined that of all the crappy junk posted today this one had to go?

    2. My mind reading skills are rusty but I don't think he's talking about not being able to see his signature or the typical where's my sig stuff.

I think he's talking about the fact that the feed, which is the default for nonmembers, doesn't show signatures. He was sending nonmembers to the not yet deleted forum thread and realized they couldn't see his signature. He was hoping, like most folks here, that after reading the post the person would be interested enough to click the sig and make a purchase.

The guys from Friends are talented set of actors , with talented writers, talented producers that worked their rear ends off maturing their craft (and no that was not emphasized in that thread). The main message of that thread was "believe you can and your mind will find away to achieve it. if Celebrities can do it and many are stupid then you can too". It ignored that intelligence is not the only talent in the world. That the reason people gather together around the "product" of Friends was talent not belief. Of course some people liked it because we all tend to want to lap up that if only we believe in ourselves the world will be ours.

Doesn't work like that in the real world. its what you bring to the table in terms of talent ((whether you or I personally see the talent as long as enough do then thats talent)

It was weak and misleading stuff that the mods should be thanked not criticized (again) for removing. I was going to suggest the mind warriors section but seeing as how there have been enough "if you envision it they will come" posts it fits being deleted as so many of the repeat subject threads have been recently.

There are many other threads that cover picking out a niche and having a product to sell multiple times without the other erroneous messages in that thread.

Speaking of which heres a solid thread that despite its title delivers something actionable

Mike, you didn't like it and apparently the mods didn't either. That's is fine with me. You may like things I don't.

But what is wrong with talking about mindset which includes belief? There are many threads here that are much worse than what the OP posted in this regard.

The whole point in the small belief part of the post was that if we think small we will get small results. This is not because of the universe or some crap like that but because that is what we focus on and so what we do will be on a small scale and the results will also be small. It was far from misleading - it is more about being self-confident enough to go and do what you need to do instead of thinking you won't ever make anything of yourself.

He also talks about adding value. Of course, even though he didn't expound on this if you can't add value - if you can't help someone because of your talent, skill, knowledge - you aren't going to make much of anything.

It's almost like we read two different threads so I looked at the Google cache and my opinion hasn't changed.

The OP's opinion is backed up by folks like Mark Cuban:

What I've learned in these 11 years is you just got to stay focused and believe in yourself and trust your own ability and judgment.
I'm not the type to pat myself on the back and all that, but somebody has to be lucky, right? When I got to Dallas, I was struggling - sleeping on the floor with six guys in a three-bedroom apartment. I used to drive around, look at the big houses, and imagine what it would be like to live there and use that as motivation.
So Mark Cuban believes, among other things, in belief in yourself, luck, imagining success, etc. I guess he's off his rocker too.

I'm not criticizing anyone - what they want to delete is their decision. I just don't understand how other things stay and this one goes.

what is the point of debating back and forth a deleted thread further?. You will say it was about this and I will say it was about that. Its gone. did the OP say that once you believe your mind will open doors andshow you to reality? Yes. Invoking Cuban to back up that kind of thinking doesn't work. You are taking Cuban out of the context of everything else he has said about business. I thought the post was fine for the mind warrior section though.

I'll say this in closing about celebrities. Rather than putting them down as dumb you can learn from ALL of them because everyone of them or the people behind them are GREAT marketers that you can learn a ton load from.

Feel free to continue to debate a deleted thread. We both can make claims of what was in it and no one can verify without reversing mod action and putting it back up . It used to be opening up a debate about mod action was cause for mod action itself. When did we get to come into the suggestion area and whine about what mods decided to remove? thread or sig?

First, Mark, thank you for capturing the spirit of my comments.

Regarding the thread in question about mindset and the the ability to create a product / event one time and have it work for you forever....well, I hate to disappoint the haters, but the mod just moved it to a different thread where it was deemed more appropriate.

Most of the readers seemed to get the underlying point and were very positive toward it.

Regarding my original post here, I thought this was a suggestion forum. I was simply suggesting that the new thread format include the signature. My understanding is that any links belong in the signature but are not allowed in the posts is that accurate?

Did I post in the wrong place?

Sorry for any offense I caused you guys. That was not my intention.

    All the best,

    Pat

Why would the "haters" be disappointed when they said all along it was a mind warriors thread which is where it was moved?

Its still there in the classic or forum view.
