URGENT - WSO first post edit button missing - This Needs To Be Fixed [Fixed]

by MeelisM 25 replies
Hello

So i've sent messages to moderators, but none of them have replied on the issue, so I guess i have to post here.

So now it has come to my notice, that the edit button of the wso first post has been taken away.

I mean what?

You gotta be able to edit the first post and the title lol.

The thread's first post can't be the same all the time.

It's the face of your WSO.

You have to be able to play around with it.

The title is your adcopy, which you change around to see what gets more people on the thread.
Can you imagine putting up a facebook ad and just being able to choose one text for the ad and that's it? You can't make another ad with another text.
That's what it is if you can't edit the title and the first post.

Ofcourse you have to find a way to remove the people who post income claims that aren't true, but taking the edit button away from everyone? Without even a post announcing it...

If this is like it is, more people will leave the forum...

I think this is quite unacceptable, and probably a lot of other WSO sellers think so

Thank you,

MeelisM

I have the same problem: I submitted a WSO for approval with no Buy Button....it was approved...once I paid and the WSO went live I assumed I would be able to edit my WSO so I could add my Buy Button, but there is no Edit button on my WSO thread. So now I have a paid WSO with no Buy Button. LOL.

Same issue here! Not cool. I've reached out the moderators as well. Please update the thread if you find out anything.

I got this kind of reply from the support desk

    Hi Meelis,

Thank you for contacting Warrior Forum Support.

I understand you're wondering why the Edit Option for the WSO thread has been removed. This feature has been implemented to avoid WSO sellers who're trying to get around the rules. A huge percentage of approved WSOs are being edited again, the users are adding income claims, guarantees and income proofs.

Now if the sellers have adjustments with the ads, they will have to contact the moderators or help desk. That's the time where we're going to move the thread to the Test Forum, for you to edit, and note that all edited threads will be subject to approval.

Let me know if you have further questions.
So yep, it's been removed without any announcement

Yeah, Just heard the same thing. So, we'll need to remove the thread, update, wait for approval and lose our place in the marketplace. Lovely. :-)

I guess maybe we'd be best served to wait til it falls off the first page, then update, then bump. Ugh, I just finished another course and I don't even know if I want to put it up here now.

    Got a reply from support

    Hi,

Thank you for contacting Warrior Forum Support.

Please be informed that you may send a request through support ticket, if you wish to edit your WSO thread.

The thread will be moved to the test forum as editing is enabled there. However, once you are done, it will be sent back to the WSO section on a respective position. This means that, if other users have new or bumped threads after your last submission/ bump, your thread will be below those.

    Thank you.
Right now it takes like 12 hours for support to answer an e-mail.

So you e-mail them to put the thread into the edit forum.
In 12 hours, if lucky, it will be in the edit forum.

If you are on your computer, you can make the edit. If not, let's say you are somewhere else and can do the edit in 8 hours, it will be 20 hours until you can actually make the edit.

Then you edit it and let support know, that it's been edited. Another 12 hours.

Nice, edit is done in ~32 hours.

In that time the thread falls off the first page and you wasted your $20

And if it turns out you need another small thing edited, well let's go back to another 30 hour trip.

Does anybody else think this should be done in a better way?

I suggest just bring back the WSO edit button and just actually moderate the WSO forum, not just check it out once a day.

    What are your suggestions people?

Do you think this new way is fine or do you feel you are paying $20 for a thread and every bump and would deserve better service?

What they are saying should be embarrassing to the owners of the forum.

"We can't moderate WSO's or keep up with those trying to game the system" ....

So they've found a way to punish everyone so mods can keep up? That's what it sounds like. There are far fewer WSO's now than there were a year ago...this may be the nail in the coffin.

I don't fully agree with the OP - I don't think it's necessary to constantly change WSO wording and it does add more work for the mods. Maybe if a change is made that should kick the WSO back into the line for re-approval.

Sellers should not have to jump through hoops or wait 20 yrs to make a correction or add a payment button.

avoid WSO sellers who're trying to get around the rules.
The way to do this is simple - put the rules where people can find them. Anyone trying to get around the rules loses the right to run any WSOs. Could ban for 6 months, one year or permanently. Would take about 2 bans before people stopped pushing the limits. Word gets around fast when you hold people to the rules - and even faster when you don't.

    Doesn't seem well thought out.

Sellers should at least be able to edit the thread title.

All sellers want to test their copy, graphics, add testimonials, FAQ's etc to improve conversions.

What if we want to update our tracking links? Or change payment processor? What then?

The answer: if edited put back into moderation queue.

Preventing sellers from adding information to their offers is very short sighted.

If you catch the 1% doing this, prevent them from editing. Most sellers do the right thing.

1 good thing - it prevents (everyone knows who) sellers from recycling old threads for new offers to try and make the product/service look more credible than it is.

I love the removal of the Edit button...

This should have been done years ago....

It is interesting how many people removed their guarantee or changed other "purchase terms" after the WSO launched....

    My personal favorite...

The a#%clown who had a $5,000 Coaching program who deleted his first post... including his money back guarantee and bolted with the cash... Sure, those people could do a chargeback with their credit card company... But, not allowing this a#%clown to remove his WSO and his guarantee would have made going back to your credit card company a lot easier.

You should be able to edit your WSO post's wording... But, it needs to go through the Mods to be sure nothing shady is going on... like the removal of a money back guarantee.

They should simply have a system in place where you can edit it when it is bumped.... it would take a few minutes for the Mods to review the changes. It is not rocket science to code this. :-)

    Pretty ridiculous.

Can't even edit a thread that you paid for? I constantly update my threads with images, different copy, etc - split testing is HUGE for online marketing/any business in general.

Warriorforum has really been doing everything against its users/customers wishes lately... which is exactly how a business goes bankrupt.

Okay so i have a question now.

Every time I want to edit my thread, I need to send the message to help desk, wait maybe up to 12-24 hours, get it to the test forum, edit it and wait more time to get it back.

This is because you check everything and make sure people are following the rules.

    Right?

Then how is this WSO here on the marketplace?

[HOT SOFTWARE] Auto T-shirt Design Software (MASS SCALING T-SHIRT DESIGN TOOL)

This has tons of income screenshots! And it's posted at the end of november.

So.... What's the explanation? Are you guys moving the threads to the test forum for fun and you don't really check the salesthreads?

Right now it feels like we just have to wait and waste time for nothing, if some people can just post blatant income screenshots and nothing is done

    Waiting for reply and explanations

I also have to say this is quite frustrating. Just launched a WSO and noticed the review video I have isn't displaying properly.

So what you're saying is to fix a super simple bb code error, one has to wait upwards of 36 hours.

    That isn't right.

This is a joke right ?

I came back here to add to my "features" list and replace the video in my WSO,
and no edit button. I submitted a ticket to help desk and have yet to get a reply.
Now I found this thread.... and I'm in further shock. Even if you jump through these hoops,
why bother ? They've driven this place so far into the ground WSO's sell at about 10%
of what they used to. Even my best ones. I think everyone will agree it's a huge struggle
to make sales here now. It really is too bad.

I can understand the need for control, but why not just actually pay some moderators
to do the job? I'm sure freelancer can afford it. But they don't. They just want
to automate everything on here, and take away vendor control as they've done in so
many ways now. Seems freelancer likes to take our advertising money, but don't care
about us making money. So why advertise on the Warrior Forum at all anymore ?

    And further more....
Did they even consider the fact that if some one is going to do anything shady,
and post stuff then take it away and change it for other information completely,
that they will just do it in post #2 which most of us reserve for FAQ's ?

And how is it that they think this will stop images from being swapped ?
Most warriors post their WSO images on their own server and have it linked in the WSO.
So.... all some one has to do is go change the image on their own server, and tadah !
WSO has been altered. So this does NOTHING. Except take away control from Vendors.
People will still swap images, and still use post #2 to add things,
so this "removal of edit" button on WSO's is pointlessand annoying.

Hopefully they will see the big holes I have just mentioned and change it back.
But I wouldn't count on it. FL seems to not give a darn what us vendors' think who have been
here selling for years. People will still change WSO images and use post # 2 on the threads.

In fact, I think I'm going to head over to my WSO right now and add the new
video and feature list right there in post #2 and be done with it.

Better than hopping over to the support desk to start begging to edit my own WSO ad.
Then it will take them around 2.5 days to put my WSO back in the marketplace.
I need to do this every time if I need to add just a few features to the list and swap out
the video for a new one ?

That's just great. Not to mention that you can't alter your subject title to see if you get
better results with different wording as your ad gets bumped down, so another sales blow.

I'll just use post #2 . Perhaps they'll see what they have done here is not only annoying, but pointless.
All they've done here is take away our ability to make information more up to date and factual.
Opposite of what they think they have accomplished here.

    Vendor-Lock -

Not anything negative on your part - but I notice the WSO's are all from last year or earlier.

Have you found problems getting FL to accept the money when you bump your threads?

I've been on the forum about 10-15 minutes this morning - and have had at least a dozen popups on the lower left of my screen and one big popup in the middle of the screen.

As for that WSO - it's clear no moderator read it in entirety. That has to be the case due to the income claims and the fact the seller could not edit it after approval.

A new members with 0 posts running a massive sales page that links to offsite pages with $500K+ income - wouldn't you think that would get MORE detailed attention from mods rather than less?

No, I just really busy and haven't had time to get on the WF.
It's changed a lot. My ads are the same for years now because the products and services are still
going strong. why change it if it works right ?

I sent this email to support to ask them to return the edit button.

      ----------------------------------------------------

      Hi.
I didn’t know about the changes, I thought it was a bug in the forum software.
No, It’s ok. I was just going to add a few features to the list, but I’ll wait
until the new video is ready so I can do that at the same time.

I understand what you’re trying to do here, and us long-term WF vendors
do appreciate people trying to make it a clean safe place to buy and sell...
but you have to consider that this removal of the edit button is a mistake.

      Here’s why.

      1. It accomplishes nothing.

All WSO images are hosted on the WSO owners’ server.
All some one has to do to change their “earnings” on the WSO is
exchange the image on their server for a new one. Same effect.

Also, most warriors reserve post #2 for FAQ’s and extra info.
Shady sellers will just post their “new earnings” there instead,
or as mentioned above, swap the WSO images.

      2. It take away Vendors’ ability to keep information factual and up to date.

When a vendor adds or removes things from a product, it’s important that the
vendor keeps their ads up to date and truthful. Such as, “ we offer this much for affiliates “
and then they remove the affiliate program all together or change it’s terms.
Many people will be lazy, and not want to try to figure out why there is no edit
button, so they will just leave it. Now there is more false advertising going on
      than when you started.

      3. It’s annoying and damaging business.

Vendors’ depend on being able to change things quickly.
If a WSO is not converting when it hits page one, most vendors like
to change the subject/title line and see if different wording pulls better.
Also, if the FAQs section was started in the post#1 as many do,
now they can’t actually add FAQs as the come along.
      Double whammy.

      4. Drop in sales for everyone including you guys.

Now that it’s impossible to do these things, marketing on the WF has
become tougher than ever, and in many cases a barely profitable WSO
has now become, a dud. I have many, but can’t bump them anymore,
because my ROI has dropped on good products and services that
I’ve had at the Warrior Forum for years. They cost me more
than I make now, which is just sad. Years ago people would
buy enough with the exact same offer to pay for the next
5 ads, plus give me a profit, and that was when it was $40
for a WSO bump. The offers haven’t changed, but the market has.

These are just a few of the reasons that the removal of the edit
button is a mistake, and I hope you take them into consideration.

I will open a new ticket when I’m ready for editing the video
and stuff on my WSO. thanks for your time.
have a happy new year !

      Yours truly,
      Jeff Noyes

they replied and said they would get back to me on this.
so maybe hope for a change back.

    Hi all,

We've been discussing this one at WFHQ and we've decided to put the edit button back. The code to make that change is getting synced out now, so you should see the button re-appear shortly.

The original rationale for removing it was that a few users were using it to circumvent the rules. Instead of removing it completely, we're going to look into other ways to make sure that the rules are enforced.

We apologise for taking so long to get back to you all on this.

Wouldn't a simple solution be that when something gets edited in the WSO section, a notification goes to the mod team (or whoever is reviewing WSO's)? The edited page still goes live right away, but the notification lets someone know it should be looked at again to make sure someone is not trying to be sneaky about something.

That's pretty much what we're thinking. We do have a couple of other ideas that are a bit more out there, but the guiding principle is that people should be able to edit their WSOs and see the results immediately.

I think the report button is a good way for other vendors to keep an eye
