Where do we stand on this?

I'm a bit unclear about this, mods...

1. So let's say that a member creates a thread asking for help.... and let's pretend that I have the answer - in video format.

Are we ok to post the Youtube vid as a response if it's relevant, of high value and non-promotional?

2. To follow on, as we have lots of members creating 'how to' threads, which are useful
- where do we stand on posting non-promtional Youtube videos that deliver the same kind of value?

Many thanks for your help.

    Sounds like a slippery slope.

There is a reason there was a hard line stance against that sort of stuff in the past.

You will have people start creating videos specifically to answer threads on here just so they can post them. You'll get people forming circle jerk groups that post questions that other members in the group can answer with their videos.

I don't think members should be able to post their own videos outside of their own sales threads. Ever. It will get abused if it is encouraged.

I think both arguments have merit, so I'm happy to be led by the community on this one.
