Default Newbie Forum?

Hi. There are so many people in the forum asking the same newbie questions so why not make a subforum where all of the most frequently asked newbie questions and answers can be found? I think it would be a good idea.

Yes newbie should had a sub forum so they will go there and not in general discussion forum. For me general discussion is for intermediate to advance forum so place a newbie sub forum so people with no totally knowledge can go.

Making a newbie section is really an excellent steps towards helping and newbie is not who is new but a mind in any question arise and somehow he is not able to get the answer then that person can also come in newbie section to ask his desired question..

If you have a newbie only section won't that be the blind leading the blind?

I don't agree with this. If they keep making more and more sub-forums then it makes each of those sub-forums less active.

Yes...yes.... I was just asking about this yesterday... Seems you spend sooo much time scoring forums just to figure out how to do stuff....

Let's do it!!

We don't make those decisions. Seems like what you want is a section where everyone asking/answering is equally clueless.

Who decides what are 'newbie questions'? Nobody on this forum knows everything so everyone is a 'newbie' at something!

I completely agree. Use the search button and you can find answers to probably any "newbie" question you have. No need for a forum.

I agree with you about not needing a newbie forum, (I'd rather learn from someone who knows the answer, rather than someone who THINKS they know the answer!)

Beg to differ about the "search button" I used it to find out how to thank someone on the forum, ended up having to Google it to find that we need a certain number of posts to enable us to be grateful!

Newbie Forums attract the wrong kind of helpful "knowledge" that can end up make good people into skeptics and that benefits nobody. I know I've said this before, but I'll say it again. This should be required reading for every new member: Internet Marketing Sins: An Open Letter to All Internet Marketers Sylvie Fortin caused quite an uproar when she released this 3-part series about the IM Industry a couple of years ago.

For anyone who is interested, I think I found this in the off-topic forum. I didn't know the WF had sub-forums until I started skimming thru this guide.

Howdy!

Might be a good idea for a newbie forum, but I could been seen as biased since I'm a newb.

If anything, just to have a place to introduce yourself and post the reasoning / goals you had in mind while signing up. I've spent most of the day looking for something like that, but I haven't had much luck.

(do I just create a "howdy" post in the "Off-Topic" forum?)

Thanks!
