Thi s forum does not look right.
Go back to the old red colour.
This one looks sort of pasty rather than a proper red.
This may even be the same red in which case it is the forum that does not look right and makes the red look bad.

        I don't like this new design. it's more than just the red color.
        They changed the fonts- it's too dense and black now in the
        posts, harder to read; removed lines (so copy now "floats"
        off the edges), and made other separators too thick and black,
        etc.

        Made the buttons to post black- when I get on a page, my eye
        is drawn there immediately- that is NOT the most important thing
        to emphasize. They removed the "hot" folder moving icons and
        now there are only 2 options instead of several; lots of things.
        And it's not an improvement.

        Change for the sake of change- NOT. This Forum WAS nicely
        designed, and HAD a distinctive look; they've ruined it. If you
        want to change something here, fix the "search" function; that
        could stand a BIG improvement.

    Some forums offer you the opportunity of several "skins" and you choose the one you want. Maybe they can offer this as well? Then everyone would be happy. I hate this new look, and being blind in 1 eye, it's more off-putting to me than most people.

      This is a good idea. I have regular not so great eyesight, and I also find
      it harder on the eye. I used to spend a lot of time on the Warrior Forum,
      so the look is very important to me. Now I just want to check out what I
      came for, and get out, as fast as possible. The new design is a real irritant.
      The type is too heavy, black and dense- the line spacing is too tight.

      It's just different, Matt, not cleaner. This is not something you can talk
      someone into. I'm a designer myself. Nothing wrong with the old site
      at all; it was highly functional and had a much nicer and easier to read
      font. And an overall better design. I agree with all sbucciarel's posts;
      and I don't like the cartoon in the header, either. Real "Warrior" stuff.
      DUH-it doesn't fit the theme of the site.

      You say put the two side by side- that doesn't do anything. I still don't
      like the new site, I don't think it is any sort of improvement; it creates
      a longing to see the old site, and thanks to the Wayback Machine, I can.
      I would rather see it here, now, though.

    I think the new design is more good and tidy than the old solid one.

    It gives you a vector professional feel while the old was, yes looking old

    It's exactly the same red that it was before. I'd rather see a return of the functions that are important rather than asking them to do something they aren't going to do.

    1. Fix search
    2. Fix folder icons so that you know what threads you are participating in
    3. Return to Smilies that you can actually see
    4. Return to the font that was much more readable

    Matt, with all due respect, we liked the old forum and most saw nothing wrong with the design. A forum is more about the relationships we build and conversations we have and losing some of elements that facilitate that, like real Smilies and folder icons that show the threads you are participating in, readable fonts, and a search engine that works are more important than design makeover. Freelancer wanted the design. A lot of us are trying to get used to it, but we weren't asking for it.

    I also wonder about the thought process of having a cartoon in the header of a business site. Is that really going to make more people sign up?

      but yes, have a look. The top half of the bar is a lighter red.
      Gives it a slightly dimensional feel. The new bar is flat and

        I like it better, it's clean and minimalist. Doesn't distract from the content which is the main reason to be here.

      I'm sure they are dealing with the spam issue. All forums and blogs and any site with comments have spam issues and it's always an ongoing fight. You can't stop spammers. You can only deal with it as it comes up.

      I have to add to that though, that reducing the size of the infraction and reports icons does little to encourage people to report spam posts. You can barely see them now and people who don't already know what they are, are likely to not report spam now.

        They had a system in place, but something was broke. They need to fix that.

      It's more like hundreds of posts. This spammer has been at it under numerous user names for hours now with no stop in sight.

      I don't believe in punishing real posters because of spammers. I think intelligent programmers can program punishment for spammers and bots rather than making real posters suffer for their deeds.

    I don't think the new look is bad. I actually like it, it looks more neat.
    The colors are still the same for me. It is just that the links are a little light but there is no problem with that. It is time to adapt to changes, you guys will get used to it.

      I actually kinda like the new theme. I mean everyone will always love the classic WF look but I think it's time to make a change and they did. Glad they did.
