Instructions? How do I... Cant find the info I need.

I hope this doesn't sound stupid but I've spent a lot of time searching and I just cant find the info I need. I've been a member here for quite a long time and I would like to know a few things about The Warrior Forum. Here is a list to start out:
  1. How do I "Thank" someone in a thread?
  2. Why cant I post new threads in some forums?
  3. What things can be in a signature file and what things are not allowed?
  4. Why are these questions not answered already and linked to from every page?
Anybody?
I do think simple questions like this should be all on one page with a prominent link up on the top menu.
I clicked "Forum Rules" and I got "Terms and Conditions" which was absolutely no help at all.
Thanks for any helpful replies!
Gary

Gary, there used to be a Warrior Forum "knowledgebase", accessible via the Help Desk link at the top of the page, which would have answered your questions plus a whole lot more, but I've just checked and this is no longer available - the link now diverts to a general Freelancer support page.

Perhaps the knowledge base is in the process of being updated. It was certainly a useful resource.

How do I thank someone in a thread?

When you reach a certain number of posts (not many - I think it's 5) the "thanks" button will appear at the bottom right side of posts.

Why cant I post new threads in some forums?

Because some forums are paid to post forums - ad sections, for example. Others are limited such as the JV forum where members must have 50 posts before they can post a JV request. These rules and limitations (and any pricing involved) are posted in each section in the "sticky" threads at the top.

What things can be in a signature file and what things are not allowed?

      Signature rules are here:

      http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...rum-rules.html

Why are these questions not answered already and linked to from every page

Because different sections of the forum have different rules. Once you learn the rules for each section (doesn't take long) you don't need to see them on every page.

If you aren't sure about rules, you can always ask, and someone here will know and be able to answer.

#1 and #2 are probably restricted by your low number of posts.

Frank, Jack, and Kay, Thanks for your replies. That probably answered all of my questions. Again, I thank you very much for taking the time.
