| *** I am placing a temporary freeze on this posting. I have received messages from many interested parties and need time to properly respond to those I'm interested in working with. If I can work out a satisfactory arrangement with the chosen candidates this thread will be deleted. *** Hello, FIRST, I want to say that I'm looking for a trustworthy person. You will be paid for your time. I am looking for quality, not dirt cheap. My name is Patrick and I'm currently building my offline consultancy empire I am looking for a talented individual that would be able to help me in site redesigns - specifically with looking at existing information and organizing it in a more user-friendly, intuitive way. My experience has been that many sites are too wordy, hard to understand and are not organized in an intuitive way. So far I have been doing this reorganization myself and it does take several hours to do a decent job, so I would much rather outsource this. Here's what I would expect from any individual or team: - Great communication skills - I send out emails, and I expect them returned within 24 hours. Not trying to be a jerk, but I like to keep the balls rolling. I tackle as many as a dozen projects at once and I hate to wait 2 days for an email response; those sorts of delays really slow me down and time is definitely money. - Good writing skill - I must insist that you have great writing skill. I'm looking for great readability AND SEO value. Writing must be succinct and clear. I would like to see writing samples from any applicants. The Job Flow: Once I get a project, I will forward you the existing site address or copy and say, "GO." I would then like to have your assessment of the information and a plan for (re)organization within 48 - 72 hours. This assessment must include an estimated time of completion. We will agree upon an organizational structure for the information and then you will get to work on the writing. The writing can be given to me as a word doc or open office document. That's it. I'm looking for someone that's on the ball and takes their work as seriously as I do. I would like to have several people on hand for this sort of work, so I welcome all qualified people to apply. EDIT: Please also send in your expectations for compensation. I would expect any applicant to have done this sort of thing before and have a good handle on what their own time is worth. I think payment based on number of words would be fair and the most straight-forward approach, but that's open to discussion. Anyone interested should send me an email pdodacre {AT} gmail {DOT} com Cheers, Patrick |

Hello all, I received some great responses to this ad, and I really do appreciate everyone's interest. Here's a little feedback: While everyone responded with information about their writing skills, only a handful zeroed-in on my need for someone familiar with UX and organizing information. I am still in the process of reviewing everyone's work and will respond to those I'm interested in working with. If you do not hear from me by the 17th, that means I have found candidates that better suited what I was looking for. To those not chosen, I do thank you for taking the time to send me a proper message. I have no doubt you're all extremely talented people and will do well in the future. Regards, Patrick |
