I'm looking for about 10-15 people who want to test a software program whose purpose is to generate SEO'd web pages (or WordPress blog posts) that rank on their own without the need for link building. Basically, you input a list of carefully chosen keywords, and the software queries various APIs to collect data (images, videos, and more) for each keyword. You then create a tokenized template, select an output format (.csv, .txt, .html, .php, or .aspx), and wait a few seconds for the software to build the pages (or .csv file). Upload the content to your site or import it into WordPress for scheduled posting. If you don't want to use the data from the APIs, you can import your own content from any source you want, as long as it's in the correct format.

Here's an Awstats screen shot for a site that I put up in January. All content was generated by the software, and I did absolutely no link building or other promotion.



Requirements:

- Windows XP SP2/SP3*, Vista*, or 7
- .NET Framework 4.0 Extended (not Client Profile)
- SQL Server 2005/2008 Express (free download from Microsoft)
- Basic on-page SEO skills
- Basic HTML skills
- Money for domain(s) and hosting
- Provide a review

* Windows XP and Vista have additional pre-requisites, but all are free downloads from Microsoft. In the manual, I give you the exact download links for everything you need, so if you don't have the necessary pre-requisites, wait until you read the manual before installing anything.

I don't care about your post count or how long you've been on this forum, but you should have the ability to follow instructions and think independently and creatively. This software can be a great tool for people who "get it," or a complete disaster for those who don't.

Given the nature of this product, many people who may consider buying it (if I end up selling it) will be interested to know the kinds of results that you've been getting with it. So, there are really two types of feedback: 1) comments regarding the software itself (ease of use, functionality, etc.); and 2) comments regarding the SEO/traffic benefits for which the software was designed.

Realistically, it'll take 2-3 months for you to get enough traffic data to draw a conclusion about the effectiveness of the software, while of course taking into account other variables (keywords, niches, and your own knowledge of SEO) that may affect the results. If you're not willing to be in this for the long haul, then don't ask to be a beta tester.

What do you get for your participation?

Obviously, you'll be getting fully functional software for free. However, if you just take the money and run, so to speak, I won't be compelled to give you the final version of the software, nor will I allow you to participate in any beta tests of my software or other products in the future. If you do your duty as a beta tester and provide honest feedback, then you'll get the final version for free. If you prove to be someone who just wanted something for nothing, then I may eventually deactivate your license key. (Can you tell that I've had deadbeat beta testers in the past? )

It's needed for storing your project data. The software makes calls to APIs, retrieves the data, and then stores it in a database (SQL Server). When it comes time to build the web pages, the software replaces the tokens in your template with the appropriate data.

Hold off on downloading SQL Server until you've looked at the User Guide because there's a specific version that you need, and it also depends on what operating system you have.

There's no need to schedule the software itself. You just run it when you want to create new web pages or a .csv file containing your blog posts. There's a feature where you can select a random posting schedule so that once you import your .csv into WordPress, the posts will be drip-fed according to whatever schedule you chose when you created the .csv. Once you have everything set up, you'll probably have to wait a few weeks to start seeing traffic from search engines. At that point, you can show me your stats.

To everyone who's participating:

In terms of expectations, all I ask is that you follow the guidelines in the manual and, once you've got 30+ pages/posts indexed, start reporting back to me what kind of traffic you're getting. After 30-60 days, you should be seeing steady increases in traffic as more and more pages get indexed. Screen shots of your Awstats (like the one shown in the OP) or your Google Analytics (though I would caution against using that) would be great. You don't have to reveal your domain or niche unless you want to.

As someone who was provided the software for review, I must say that I already have the software installed and will create my template(s) next. I had trouble with SQL from Windows because there was a 2005 version (not used) on my computer that I had to remove first (but it took a couple of installs to figure this out).

So far, RS has made the instructions some of the cleanest and easiest to follow I've seen in a long time. While I have been doing IM for a while, I'm still not an expert--I would call myself an intermediate IMer, somewhere midway between NOOB and EXPERT. For someone like me, so far, all is well. Can't wait to use the software. Looks good.

Yeah, but I went slow and got it to finally completely install on Windows 7 laptop. It was that 2005 Microsoft SQL folder that was causing the prob. I uninstalled it and then the 2008 SQL install went fine! Your instructions are REALLY clear and helpful. I'm such a dweeb w/ some of this I just have to go slow, being self-taught w/SQL, LOL. I do everything myself, by hand usually (as I write more than I manage websites). This will be nice for my new affiliate site.

For the more advanced users, I bet they'll be drooling over this product. I SEE SO MUCH POTENTIAL with it.

While I am not an expert, I have to say that if you have SQL Server 2005 installed ( it may be used by other software - as in my case with some backlinking stuff), don't try to do upgrade to 2008 ( I got an error). Just install SQL 2008 separate, without removing the 2005. It will work just fine.

Hmm...install process for me is a bear. Wondering if there's a way to package the sql database with it so that it installs itself. And Though I got the install for that going, when I fired up SERPICIDE it kept saying it couldn't log me in to the database.

Yes, I'm still looking for testers. I now have more than the 10-15 that I originally asked for, but that's okay. If you haven't gotten the download link yet, please be patient, as WF isn't letting me send more than 5 PMs per hour.

I agree that the installation of the pre-requisites is complicated. I had looked into using the compact version of SQL Server, which can be installed automatically, but it doesn't have the features needed for running the program, unless I redo it in such a way that it can do without those features.

There's also a way to install SQL Server Express programmatically, and it's not pretty. It's prone to many errors due to people having different operating systems, service packs, and whatnot, so what I might do is rewrite my software so that it doesn't rely on SQL Server at all.

As for your error logging into the database, are you sure that you have the correct Server Name and Database Name? Someone mentioned to me that the instructions for that in the manual are a bit confusing, so I'll try to explain it better here:

Your server name is whatever the name of your "instance" of SQL Server is, preceded by your computer's name. If you just followed the prompts during the installation of SQL Server Express, your Server Name should look something like this:

COMPUTERNAME\SQLExpress

So if the name of your computer is "Cypherslock," then your Server Name would be this:

Cypherslock\SQLExpress

The database name should be the name of the software because that's what programmed into the SQL script that you need to run after creating the database. Keep in mind that after installing SQL Server Express, you need to restart your computer and then create the database. Once you've got your database, you can run the SQL script provided, and that will create all of the tables in the database.

Typically, database connection errors are due to an incorrect server name or database name. If you've followed all of the steps and are still having trouble connecting, then there may be an issue with how your SQL Server is configured, and I'd be happy to take a look at that through Team Viewer if necessary.
