joomla 2.5 technical help needed

Hi,

I recently tried to set-up a K2 blog page on my website with an Activity template and gantry platform but with limited success. I enabled the k2 users login but received a 404 error that the component couldn't be found when the form was submitted. I tied in vain to install a K2 Extension plugin from Style Ware and I think I disabled the default joomla user module/plug in. I logged out of the website and then I couldn't log back in through the back end.

I have looked at various forums and couldn't access the site through the control panel. It seems in the database that there there is no Plug in database anymore?

I have tried to disable the php files for the Style Ware K2 plug in and change the passwords in the data base and also the configuration php and htaccess but without success.

Therefore after wasting most of today, I would appreciate any help and also would be prepared to pay for this to be resolved.

I did back up the site on Akeeba before I made any changes.
