[Reviewers wanted] Website Valuation Software
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hi,

Looking for a few members to review our new website valuation program. It's a web-based program so there is no software to download. It will take 5-10 minutes of your time.

All you need to do is go to our website and enter a few numbers from your website. The software will then analyze your site and provide a value and also a customized report with suggestions to improve your web value. (The report will be e-mailed to you.)

Once you receive your report, we'd like your feedback! (I tried this once before and gave out lots of free evaluation reports but didn't get much feedback - please, if you're going to try it out, take two minutes to review our program. We need your help to improve it before releasing our final version.)

PM me and I'll send you the details. Thanks!

My review and suggestions:

1. Extremely Fast: Even with a bit of research time on my part (page views, unique visitors, Alexa rank, age in months, etc.) it took less than 10 minutes to complete the process and receive my report via email!

2. Report: I was happy with the valuation price that was quoted but in a realistic world I feel that I would be lucky to receive 1/2 or 2/3 of it, at best, based on what I have seen in the marketplace.

I believe that most of the report is generic info based strictly on the set of stats that you enter - this is not to be considered a bad review, simply that it seemed that it was generic info simply pulled from a database based on the stats entered. For a free valuation, it was a good report, if you expect to charge for it, you better add more.

3. Data input area: suggestions for improvement - your system asks for "google links" - a small explanation would be helpful - do you want what google shows in their backlinks when you click on their toolbar at the pagerank indicator "or" do you want the links that webmaster tools shows (if you have webmaster tools installed) Example: G's toolbar shows 80 links for us but when I had webmaster tools installed they showed over 20K backlinks- this may or may not be a factor in your overall site valuation?

Either have an explanation next to the fill in the blank or a click on pop up to give a better idea of what number to put there.

Overall, it was a very short and fast process that provided a neat, well organized report and if I were to rate it on the "old" rating scale like we had back in the day, I would give it a B+.

Hello Globaltrader!

Thanks so much for trying out out! We are still in beta mode and working hard to improve before we release - we couldn't do it without your suggestions!

Our data process is a little different than most. Part of the valuation process is based on recent 'actual sold' websites along with thousands of other data points related to critical performance metrics of website properties. That said, we are still playing around with the weights and measurements a bit and tweaking the formula to make it as accurate as possible.

Your suggestion with the data area is spot-on. This is the biggest area where confusion lies for some customers - you'll be happy to know one of our programmers has been working on this as we speak - refactoring the input views and adding some instructional hover bubbles to eliminate confusion. (You were correct in using the Google toolbar/backlinks data. Entering the other data will make difference in the valuation.)

Thanks again for the feedback - we'll keep working to improve before our release! Feel free to use the tool as much as you'd like during our testing period!

~ Stacie

We could still use more feedback - no software to download, and it should take only 10 minutes of your time. If you have a website and would like to try our website valuation software, please pm me and I'll send you the details!

We're still tweaking our software - thanks to all who have downloaded it so far. We've had a lot of great feedback from Warrior members.

However - I'm still looking for more testers! Does anyone else have a few minutes to test out our website valuation software? Thanks!
