Need Experienced Reputation Management Person To Remove Ripoff Reports
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I have a client that has a Ripoff Report and a Pissed Consumer complaint on the first page of Google search results for their business name.

We are looking to outsource this if it can fit into the budget of what we are already charging them.

If you are interested, please PM me with examples of past success you have had, estimated time frame of completion and pricing.

well you wont be able to remove it. just knock it down to the second or third page. in the meantime, responding to the comment and trying to make it right with the consumer in public is the best way to go about this.

mariomvr- just because someone gets a negative review doesn't mean they are scammers. in fact, sometimes the opposite is true. ever heard of people leaving fake negative reviews and then blackmailing a company to take it off?

rep management is a little shady to me only because when you are dealing with negative reviews, it switches from rep management to negative reputation management and the company can really be a bad one that needs help and all someone is doing to help them is to hide that fact that they are a bad company and misguide the average consumer.

Oh wait so a "Ripoff Report and a Pissed Consumer complaint" doesn't mean that he did something wrong, that he isn't a scammer? I guess that all clients go straight to the ripoff website complain about products....

Common.... Man.... You know it's not true. I deal with clients complaints all day long and they are all solved within the support desk. I have worked with many "gurus" and never I've seen a ripoff complain that wasn't deserved. You can believe in what you want, I stick to my guns. He is a scammer period.

What anwiii is saying has great truth to it. There are people out there who will give you a negative review (sometimes going to the extent of posting negative reviews using different accounts on different forums) simply to make the company look bad and then blackmail them to make it "go away" . My point does not lessen on your point in any way because I do understand where you are coming from. All I am saying is that it does happen!

I agree with CPO. While negative reviews are richly deserved in some cases, in other cases, the "complaint" may have been lodged by a competitor, an angry ex-employee, or even the business owner's psycho ex. And there are cases where the complaining customer is a nut job who refused to be satisfied regardless of what the business owner did.

Going back to what the OP asked, Anwiii is right in saying that a Ripoff Report review cannot be removed. The goal of reputation management would be to knock it down to at least page 3 of Google. I did contract work for an SBU of Reputation.com for over a year, and that is how we handled "negative content" situations.

Not necessarily. As others have stated, it could be a plant by an ex-employee, a customer in a bad mood that particular day, etc.

I've worked in CS taking phone calls, I've had Customer A think I was the greatest thing since sliced bread & give me high marks. Customer B think I did a horrible job & gave me a low score. I treated them the same, I worked their account the best I could, etc. Generally it was due to something I COULD NOT do (i.e. waive a late fee). This particular CC for years pretty much waived them every time & you could see in the history the fees waived over the years. They changed their algorithms & you pretty much had to be a high spending/good payment history customer to get fees waived.

A mortgage company I used to work for is all over the Rip Off report and while I AGREE with *some* of the complaints, many of them were due to people not understanding what they signed when they got their mortgage. However I don't totally fault them because I know a lot of the Loan Officers DID NOT properly explain things, they just wanted to get their loan funded & their commission check. And these were D paper loans (meaning VERY bad credit) so they were lucky to get the loan in the first place.

I think there is truth on both sides of this friendly debate.

True I'm sure it does happen, but really how much or often? Probably 80 percent our even 90 percent it is because they're an outright scammer. Just my judgement call there, going from my experiences. I always fight back when I get scammed.

However, I think the really important thing here is, that if I was to consider working for this outfit, I'd want to know for sure.

Just my two bits. ;o)

Working in reputation management is a lot like working in law. Any criminal defense attorney will tell you that, in reality, about 99% of their client base is guilty. But that's not the attorney's concern. The concern of the attorney is to give their client the best representation possible, and get them the best possible outcome from a legal perspective.

The same thing goes with rep management. I'm sure that most of the files I worked on involved "guilty" people (I put "guilty" in quotes because they didn't necessarily break the law - lots of them were simply very naughty). That wasn't my concern. My job was to aid in the process of repairing their online reputations, getting them the best possible outcome. Having done paralegal work for some time prior to working in rep management, I was used to this sort of thing. I had no ethical problem with working on files for people who I would never associate with on a personal level. I wouldn't have associated with many of the clients in the law offices I worked for, either (although I mostly did workers' comp and insurance defense, so the clients were companies, not people).

I would like to do more rep management work going forward, as it is a growing field, and I learned A LOT working for Reputation.com. (I would have been interested in growing within the company, but as a lowly oDesk contractor, promotional opportunities weren't available to me. Nobody gets promoted from oDesk Underling to Real Employee.) However, I'm working on other things right now.

Ialso remeber working too a year ago for some reputation management agency on bringing down some negative reviews. While the client was interested in bringing down those reviews because he was planning on selling the company, and feared that the negative reviews would either hinder the sale completely, or lower the price down, I must say from my own honest point of view, most of the reviews where deserving, meaning that he really wasn't doing a good job to satisfy his customers.

Sure, I did my job too quite well, and I did approach the issue from two sides.

1- I posted other positive reviews on the smae site of the negative reviews, and tons of them, so as to drown the negative reviews and make them look like they were from an unsatisfiable client. And that worked just fine. And even though those websites still ranked around 3 to 4 pages of google search when you entered the clients company name, it was no longer a negative review, but a discussion about the company from various points of views, most of them mine, and which made the company looked good.

2- I also created some other positive reviews too from review websites where there weren't any negative reviews, and continued posting there for about 3 months with dieferent aliases until these sites overtook the other sites and where the ones on the first page.

Of course, explaining it here sounds easy, but I had a whole strategy which I put in place, and which involed multiple ips and what not, as well as multiple usernames and aliases.

Hope that hepls. Unfortunately, I anot still in that game of rep management as I have my own reputation to manage now, and may other things so much so that i can't be doing this any more.

But if you would like some advice from an experience online rep manager, do shoot me a PM, and I will give it to you for free of course.
