Are my domains worth more than what I paid to register?

Hi, I have 2 domains thinking of selling definejustice dot com, and frenchtranslator dot org,
I am new to domain selling wondered if domains are worth anything, according to estibot both are worth pretty good amounts, but not sure how accurate those sites are.

I would appreciate opinions, appraisals ect...

Thanks

I don't think you should place any confidence in online "instant" appraisal services - any of them. Most of these places make money by hyping the domain names entered into their estimator saying they're worth lots of money. So folks run off to purchase the domains through the links on the site and the owner makes a commission.

Your domains are only worth what you can get out of them. I don't personally see anything special about either of the names you've purchased. They don't have intrinsic value, they are not really commercially viable (they don't have a product name or a ready market). Neither is really short, memorable, or brandable.

The best you could do would be to type in the domain name (like "french translator") into the search engines, see what sites pop up in the results, and then contact those site owners. Tell them you did a search on the name, their site came up first (or second, or third, etc) and you own the domain name. See if you can get an offer for the name out of the site owner. I think that's about as good as you can do.

Hi Steve, Thanks for your comments and your suggestions, I will follow your advice and try contacting owners in similar niche domains. Maybe develop into sites and sell at later time.

Thanks,
