backlinking is just when you direct people to your site through another site... it's like inbetween page that kinda hypes them up before they actually go to the website the are going to next. An example would be if I had a site that told you how awesome my Android phone is and then told you to click something, which then took you to a page where you'll be able to buy it or get direct information on it.

RajZ... A backlink is is an external link that points back to your site page. Google and other search engines generally consider a backlink a "vote of confidence". It's based on the premise that when someone adds a link on their site that points back to your site. Of course, these days, we do most of the backlinking ourselves as opposed to waiting for others to link to our pages.

As an example, when you leave a comment on a blog and add your link - that's a backlink. The higher the PageRank of the page on which you add your backlink, the more influential and valuable the link. Adding your link to sites that are relavent to your site makes the backlink even more powerful.


Danny... what you are describing is a "pre-selling" squeeze page or landing page.
