I see it like this.

You get the ebook to evaluate and keep without paying anything. After you've viewed it you have the choice of paying $0 (cancel your subscription within a week), $6 (cancel your subscription during the second week), or $12 (don't cancel your subscription).

It's an interesting marketing technique which depends on people seeing that the information that you provide is of real value (and them being honest about that assessment) for it to be successful.

To answer some questions
I am not selling software merely instructions on how to locate and use 3rd partly software that allows you to make a facebook app. What it really tells you is how to make a widget and then load it on to facebook as an app.

Turning your widget into an app means you can use the invite friend tool to make it spread virally across facebook.

I do have some sample of how it works in the book. The reason I have offered this as a free trial is because I wanted people to try it out before they committed themselves
