how does a client of mine use the sytem? like text"lawyer" to 34567 ?
do I automatically get assinged a short code number ?
cant imagine why this hasnt just exploded on the forum

This doesn't work by "keywords" like the other services. You have unlimited messages and unlimited subscribers. It works like an autoresponder except with cell phone numbers instead of email.

How effective is this?

For example, I got a text message from a random person trying to sell me something. I quickly called Verizon and they where setting up "spam filters" out to all text messaging. Ever since then, I haven't received a promotional text.

So I guess could you explain a bit more how this works.

I think that obviously, if you have your company not allow you to receive text messages then it doesn't really matter what service you are using, you won't get ANY text messages.

Right now, this is for US based providers. I believe an international version is in the works. The problem is that in many countries, the telecommunications industry is either owned or strictly regulated by the government. In the Bahamas for example, flat rate long distance and VOIP is against the law, at least it was the last time I stayed there a couple of years ago.

Also, can explain in detail about me going to store and using the demo phones. Aren’t most phone under lock and key. Plus aren’t most times a sales agent somewhere near by to prevent me from doing what you are proposing I Do?
