Hello Jack,

WP desktop is an application you can run in windows, mac or linux.
and wpmanagerdx works from your cpanel host. They are seperate programs.

No it is not you bought a php script and this wp desktop can be run
with windows, mac or linux. It will install wordpress blogs on different cpanel hosts.

It is a useful software if you have different cpanel based hosts.

Yes you can install wordpress blogs from cpanel > Fantastico section.
The software is suitable to newbies and/or advanced wordpress bloggers
as well. It will setup a wordpress blog more complete than fantastico,
like with software you can setup your own theme, plugins, blogroll links and much more... than installing via fantastico.

Yes it is compatible with WordPress latest version 2.7. And yes the software will be updated if something goes wrong with new versions of wordpress and also have added new features in future releases.

Glad to hear! If you are using wpmdx successfully then you don't need this software. The difference is that it runs on your desktop, installs on any cpanel server and wpmdx install on the same cpanel host wpmdx is on and has the manage content autoposter that wpdesktop doesn't have.

But for those using wp desktop and need the autoposter, I offer the articlemanagerdx.com that does the same thing as the manage content autoposter that is in wpmdx.

Just wanted to say I have been using this "everyday" at my Help Desk. I sell Custom WordPress Themes and plugins of my own design to Internet Marketers (Niche Sites). Long story short I use Desktop WordPress Installer an average of ten times daily - six to seven days a week. Time saved compared to Fantastico or Manual Installations is about 45 to 60 minutes per custom installation!

Support is great as I have submitted a few suggestions and they were either included in the next release and/or tips were suggested "directly from the programmer or the help desk staff!"

One of the great aspects of the program that I think should be emphasized is the ability to save a project installation (.wdi file) and it is available to you if you need to examine the details. You can even save a "Master File" and reuse it on different domains with just a few easy changes.. domain name, cPanel login, etc.

Got 2 pre-sale questions...first on Desktop WordPress Installer

I was wondering if some of the steps could be used without using others.

Specifically if I want to install WP with a special wp-config.php info...like a database prefix for security reasons, could I do that manually, skip that first step in the software, then resume using the application to complete the remaining step?

I looked at the screen shots and there was no input box for db prefix or some other commonly used wp-config.php edits.

Next question on WPCashLinksDX...

Is it possible to relegate links to be shown ONLY in the Comments area of a WP blog? Maybe a filter...and will is show links in headers, footers, and sidebars...where ever it finds the keyword?
