Over the past decade, I’ve attended well over 100 live internet marketing related events. I spoke at some, but was just an attendee at even more. Just glancing at my schedule, I see that in the next few months I tentatively have: - Niche Affiliate Marketing System 8, in Atlanta, August 3rd – 5th, 2012 - Dennis Becker’s, Earn 1KADay Seminar, in Las Vegas, August 10th – 12th, 2012 - Warrior Event, in Orlando, September 28th – 30th, 2012 - Ryan Lee’s Seminar, in Connecticut, Oct 12 – 14th, 2012 - Maria Gudelis’ Event, in Las Vegas, October 19th – 21st, 2012 - A cruise with Tampa Bay Business Owners, Tampa-Cozumel, October 25th -29th, 2012 - Turbo Seminar, Las Vegas, November 9th – 11th, 2012 - 12-12-12 Seminar, Manila, December 2012 - The Marketers Cruise, Miami-Cozumel- Jamaica- Grand Cayman- Miami, January 13th – 20th, 2013 Most of those events are fairly firm, and I’m also looking at a few others. Looking at such a schedule, you have to think that, 1) it has to be expensive, and 2) it’s so busy that it would drive you crazy. Actually neither assumption would be true. The trips are a part of how I earn money, rather than an expense. I often speak, but even when I don’t, I’m making connections that further my business as a joint venture broker. I’m networking with new potential joint venture brokering clients for myself, and for my proteges. I also am VERY systematic in what I do at these events. Years ago, I notice Joel Christopher mentoring his students, having them actually make a list of people that they wanted to meet and network with at these events. Joel often had his students pre-schedule appointments with certain people whom they knew would be at these events. I now, very systematically, plan my interactions prior to attending many events. Many of my mentors do the same. That’s how we avoid spending “a whirlwind weekend,” in a crowd of several hundred, and then arrive back home and wonder what we actually accomplished. I begin by looking at the page promoting the event. I look at who the speakers and hosts are. Then I ask myself how I can network with, and build mutually beneficial relationships with these people. I also look for pages where attendees network such as Facebook Fanpages or Groups. I look at who is planning to attend these events, and I also ask how I can build mutually beneficial relationships with those attendees. With the speakers, hosts, and attendees, I click on links in their profiles, to learn more about them and what their interests are. I make notes about their niches, their products, and their addresses and phone numbers. I’ll also annotate their Skype ID’s if they are available. You may wonder why I’m sort of building dossiers on people… Many of the people attending these events have the same intention that I do. They plan on meeting people at these live events, getting to know some of them, and later following up with them, and leveraging the relationships to grow their businesses. Most of the people attending these live events, collect a bunch of business cards, take them back home, shove them in the back of their desk drawers, and go back to life as it was before the event. Most people NEVER follow up! Here’s how I, and my savvy students, do things differently. First of all, we set up a secure online contact manager here: http://TheCardThingy.com Simply go there, click on “Join Now,” and then click on the top “Create Account” button. That system allows you to send postcards, greeting cards, and gifts, right from your computer, to anywhere in the world. I’ve been using this system since 2004. Today, I’m recognized as one of the leading internet marketers and joint venture brokers in the world, largely because of how I use this system. You see, each time that I gather up the names, addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, spouses’ and children’s names, website URL’s, etc., I store those right in my secure online contact manager that I can access from anywhere in the world… as long as I can get an internet connection. As I add each new person to my contact manager, I also often add them to specific groups based upon interests, or how we are connected. Next, I send them a greeting card right from the system that tells them that I’m looking forward to meeting them at the upcoming event, and may also suggest that we chat over breakfast, lunch or dinner one day during the event. Often, I’ve arranged important meetings with people that I REALLY want an opportunity to chat with about a pet project, before even arriving at the event location. As soon as I see them, I confirm that appointment, or I give them a call from the hotel to confirm the appointment if I don’t notice them in the crowd. When I meet with the person, I ALWAYS take several digital photos. My iPhone takes beautiful high resolution photos, so that’s easy to do. While on the topic of my iPhone, I also add these contacts to my iPhone at the same time that I’m adding them to my free online contact manager. After the meeting, I often go back to my hotel room and the very SAME evening, log in to my contact manager, and compose a nice follow-up greeting card. I schedule that card to arrive a few days after the person is scheduled to be back home, and that card continues following up on the projects or conversation that we had earlier. To make my card more of a keepsake, I upload the digital photo that I took earlier to the front of the greeting card. I may also upload a couple of them to the inside of the greeting card. A week or two after I get home, if I haven’t heard from the person that I wanted to follow up with, I may give them a call, Skype them, or send them another follow-up card. Along with any of the cards that I send, I may also include a nice gift like a box of gourmet brownies, a book, or even an iPhone or iPad cover, with a nice photo of the recipient right on the cover As you can imagine, these cards and gifts make a nice impression. You also realize that people are less-likely to toss out a greeting card with their photo on the front. So, they could keep your card on a stand near their desk for YEARS, and each time that they glance at it, they will remember you. I personally LOVE sending iPhone covers, because practically every person that I know grabs three things before leaving their houses, 1) the car keys, 2) their wallets or purses, and 3) their smart phones. Every time that they use that phone throughout the day, they are reminded of you, your project, having a meal with you etc. As you can see, this is very powerful. At a seminar like NAMS, there may be 400 or more attendees. The odds of you making a lasting impression on most of them is slim. The odds of a lot of them remembering exactly who you are, and what your interests are is remote. Therefore, it makes more sense for you to identify a few key people that you absolutely want to meet, and plan out not just first meeting them, but also being one of the few people who will actually follow up. Yes, you still can and should meet lots of other people, but you’re not likely to connect as deeply unless you do it with intention… and you need to be the one to taking the initiative. You may wonder what I spend on greeting cards I spend about $1 each. The personalized gifts that I send aren’t that expensive either. Here’s the thing… In my work as a joint venture broker, I get paid for making connections. My students and I typically earn 10% of the gross sales made by promoters that we introduce to our clients and convince to promote our clients’ products. We also often earn an upfront retainer. Consider a product launch where we introduce the client to a person that we met at a seminar like NAMS, and that person sells just $10,000 of our client’s product. That one introduction is worth a $1000 commission. Do you think that was “worth” sending a greeting card or two, and sharing a meal. I, personally, rarely take on clients with product launches that I’m not relatively certain will do $1 million or more in sales. So, I go for projects that will pay me six or even seven figure commissions. Playing at that level, the system that I just described to you is VERY cost effective. The majority of my client’s competitors often struggle just to get their products noticed by super-affiliates. Even if you have the greatest product in the world, the single biggest challenge you will often face is getting potential affiliates, and joint venture partner to simply slow down enough and actually take a look at the product. How many times have you had someone mention a product to you, several times, and then when you FINALLY actually took a look, you absolutely LOVED the product? We all have so many things vying for our attention these days! When you do have so much noise coming at you, getting a nice card or gift from a friend that you enjoyed meeting at a seminar, can be a welcome break. Naturally, you’ll take a minute to check out a website or product that they ask you to… especially if the request came in a box with an dozen gourmet brownies. I know, those gourmet brownies are one of my favorite ways of getting past the gate-keepers, and getting a yes! So now that you know my not-so-secret strategy and tool, why not just model it? Everybody else at these events will be running around in disarray, as you serenely sit there with a smile on your face… watching a beautiful plan fall in place. Get started by going here: http://TheCardThingy.com Click on the button that says “Join Now.” To get the best rate on cards, the one that I get, click on the top button on the next page, next to “Preferred Customer.” Set up a subscription so that you actually get in the habit of sending these network-building cards our regularly. Then start building your contact manager! If you want to start by sending me a thank you card, you can. Just add: Willie Crawford P.O. Box 6508 Navarre, FL 32566 as the first record in your contact manager, and then just follow the very intuitive steps to send me that card. When I get it, if you are not already in my contact manager, I’ll add you. Simple isn’t it? All business is about building real person-to-person relationships … one person at a time. Many people get online and they forget that. They try to build as many contacts as they can and then wonder why they are not getting anywhere. It’s because you need to take time to be civil, and to say “Hi.” Start here: http://TheCardThingy.com Willie |

I've had a few people already ask me what's up with this advertorial :-) First of all, I'm an instructor at the upcoming NAMS workshop. So, I earn a commission when you register through my affiliate link. With this workshop, I will have taught at 7 out of 8 workshops... I'm permanent faculty :-) Secondly, when you sign up for one of the accounts recommended near the bottom, with SendOutCards, I earn a dollar or so on your account every month unless you become to a distrutor, in which case, I earn a commission on all of your sales, etc. I'm also a Senior Certified Trainer in SendOutCards, meaning I teach formal workshops on how to sell :-) I've had one person ask if I offered any type of bribe for buying through my link. If you give the card system a try, signing up for a subscription, which you are free to cancel at any time, I will give you the private label rights to a brand new ebook that I recently finished. The ebook is titled, "How To Generate An Endless Stream of 100% Free, Highly Targeted Leads For Your MLM Or Online Business" You'll get unrestricted PLR to the ebook, but if you make any changes to it, you will need to remove my name from it as author and put your own copyright notice, etc. The PLR rights also allow you to just sell or giveaway the PDF as is. I personally happen to think that it's pretty valueable. It teaches a strategy that I use VERY successfully! The PLR doesn't come a website or graphics because if you change it, then you should rename it. I did initially write the ebook with the intentions of selling it as a WSO, so I now need to create a new products! Willie |

Wow! I'm impressed. I came to this thread only to get the free PLR you emailed about, but now I get another JV Networking strategy which is probably worth much more than a PLR ebook, no matter how good the book is. And with that kind of strategy, and with that kind of live event schedule, no wonder why you are one of the top JV brokers in the world. You know and have a positive relationship with everyone! I'm now starting to think becoming a JV broker will not only require to improve my marketing skills, but also my social skills... |
