That’s over 2,000 per day...

...plus another 500,000 estimated as not reported

According to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), a child goes missing every 40 seconds in the U.S. with an alarming number of those missing due to abduction.

Fellow Warriors.

These statistics and recent events in my own neighborhood hit me like a ton of bricks. A very close friend of my 10 year old son was almost abducted while shooting hoops in someone’s front yard. Luckily he was able to escape and get help however, this young man has been scarred for life and is now petrified to step foot out of his house.

A few days later another attempt was made just a few miles away and the description of the vehicle and person was identical. Again, the child, a 9 year old boy, was able to get away but is badly bruised after wrestling with his potential captor.

There is now a man hunt going on and I actually pray that the police capture this man before the fathers do as I guarantee he will be singing soprano for the rest of his life.

As a result of these recent events I have decided to put my IM career on hold and focus on supporting and helping our children and have teamed up with Kids and Strangers, a newly released child safety DVD that teaches kids and parents how to avoid and prevent child abduction, molestation and Internet stalking.

These are all great laws but if you think about it, they are all named after a deceased child who was a victim of child abduction…

…Let’s stop naming laws after our children and do something to prevent these tragedies from happening…let’s educate our youth and parents properly.
