WOW, I don't know that he isn't a hacker, but a technical issue does NOT make him a hacker. BTW, neither does snagging emails, that would make him a scammer, not a hacker.

Well, again, I'm not saying he's on the up and up, but I see a request for name and email, just like any other opt in form. IF he were asking for email passwords and somebody were to give that to him, I would almost have to say that they had it coming to them.

But you very well could be right, I just hate seeing people jump to conclusions. No offence intended.

Okay,

Based on the information given, and the simple investigation that I just performed (took about five minutes), the man in question is NOT a hacker nor a spammer. He just really, really sucks at IM.

The whole email thing is a VERY standard script that about 1,000,000 other people are using, can't remember what it's called. It's a simple email mass import and invite script. Nothing shaky about it al all. Just that his use of it sucks.

He (the marketer) should have made it clear that you had to use this on order to download the files. You can manually enter an email (without putting in your email password) and still get the download . . . it's just going to cost you another email address.

So this is exactly the reason I like to say "look before you leap" while making accusations.

The only thing I see here is that he is using a script to automatically import your contacts to tell friends (why the request for a password), something he does not state is required to get the product.

There is a link at the bottom titled "Manually add emails" where you can give 5 or more address to get access to the product without giving your password.

First of all, I'm very sorry because I lost internet connection at my home last night. I can't post any message here.

You are wrong, TheFlash. When you hit the "Free Instant Download" button, an email will be sent to you directly that requires your confirmation. After that, the download link also will be sent via email.

After that you will be redirected to the page that you can share to your friend. I will give some extra bonus if you invite your friends. That is tell-a-friend script that I presumed that you don't know about it.

I'M NOT SAVING YOUR EMAIL PASSWORD which I clearly stated in the page. If you do not want to invite your friends, you can simply close your browser window. You still can download my product.

I'm not hacker/scammer or whatever you think of. I'm just want to share what I have to fellow warriors.

As I understand it, he asks for the password if you want to refer friends and get an extra bonus(!)

However, if you prefer not to do that - and I'm guessing that not many people will give out their p/word! - just leave the page and check your email as per normal after an opt-in.

I do stand to be corrected if that is not the case.

There should be some sort of "no thanks" link or button on that form. That said, closing the window is exactly what I would do in this case... and on checking my email, I found the download link, went to it, and there everything was.

I think it would be better if the process were made a little less worrisome. It feels very much like I can't get the downloads until I give you my password, which just feels wrong. Perhaps you could switch the forms: start on the manual entry form, and give a link to retrieve friend addresses automatically.

I'm also not fond of RAR archives, although I don't think too many people share that sentiment.

I can say that I did put my email address and after 5 mins email arrived with the e-book, I think you may made a mistake Flash as it gives you the opp of email your friends or not if you for the friends bit you have to place password so it can then log on to your email client to send them a link, look I may be wrong but I have no problems here..........

I entered the info and received a confirmation via email. I then received the download link and downloaded the first of the items with no problem.

I was never asked for any referrals or my email password.

Wow! Different people may be getting different pages (?) if virginiad didn't get the refer-a-friend or email password request.

Now, I'm not saying this was the case of Anas' post (I didn't take the WSO so I don't know what's beyond the "Download Here Now" --- but I know some people get a little upset (I'm one of them) when signing up for something that is promoted as free, only to discover that you can only get it if you provide names and emails of x-number of friends. Heck, I don't even have any friends who are interested in internet marketing.
