Hmmmm....

I can't seem to make any links clickable.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've tried several different options
and have even tried using http://whatever.com type links. Nothing.

Oh well, still a nice little tool.

Anyone that has successfully made a PDF with clickable hyperlinks
care to explain how they did it?

Dave,

The only options to size the pdf is set the intial zoom level to either "one page" or "page width". This is set on the "other" tab.

I printed this post with it set on one page and it came out at 77%. When I set it to page width it came out at 123%.

Links aren't working. I'm running MS Word (Office 2000) on WinXP Home w/SP2. I tried it in eBook mode, Default mode and Screen (I think was the name). None of the PDF's had clickable links.

Any suggestions?

Admin do you have any idea of a software that turn pdf into a word file?? I never gone through it but i heard that its successfully introduced with 15 days trial and after that it costs $500. Are you aware of it??

I have used a very similar software to generate all my PDFs called CutePDF. From what I can tell WarriorPDF and CutePDF are almost identical in functionality and usage, although I have not really delved deeply into the full range of options for either tool. I seem to recall CutePDF having no problems with links and Microsoft Office 2007, so you might want to try that out and see if it makes links any better.

Same here. I've tried several different methods. Still haven't created a single PDF with clickable links. Not that I'm complaining, you understand, it's just that others in this thread said they were able to make them with clickable links. So I'm wondering what are we doing wrong/different?

Any ideas?

With regards to clickable hyperlinks they ARE clickable ONLY if you put www. OR Default PLESK Page. in the text. If you want to bury/hide a hyperlink behind a clickable word only then it doesn't work unfortunately.

Other than that it's a great piece of software to have. Thanks again!

As a Mac user, I've always had that function in the print dialog box for anything I've ever printed. But my laptop is a PC, so this will come in quite handy.

Like several others, I could not get word links working and on another recommendation used the free Open Office and successfully converted my new ebook to pdf, with links - no problem.

Seems that everyone has good luck with creating PDF's except me....I've tried them all it seems, and I have the same problem with each one...

When I came across this one, I thought "oh yeah....Mabye this one will create my pdf with "active" links instead of dead one.......but it still didn't work.

My ebook is full of links and they all work fine when I create them in "WORD" but when I try and create a pdf file from the word doc., they never work.

How can I fix this?

Really easy to use and quick to download and install - thank you!

For ebooks with www or http links it works quickly and with no fuss, I'll be using it for any of my ebooks without hidden or embedded links for definite.

OpenOffice was the quickest and easiest to use I've found to date, but it means relearning all my Microsoft Word skills, (I'm too lazy for that!) so I'm getting used to it bit by bit! For now I have to cut and paste into it from word into OpenOffice writer and then tidy it up a bit before I convert it to PDF.

WarriorPDF is easier in the meantime.

Shame it doesn't do ordinary embedded links like 'click here' - Am I right? Or tables of contents and bookmarks. OpenOffice does all these and I have to say, and if I were starting out with ebooks I'd definitely use it.

PDF995 also does all I need for a typical ebook - links, hidden links, tables of contents, security - and I use this for now with my word documents while I get used to OpenOffice as a word processor. It's not as easy to install or use as WarriorPDF though, at least not at first, though once you install it on your toolbar it's fairly painless. (Getting that installed is a bit tricky though!) Oh yes, and you have to put up with annoying pop-up ads when you use the free version.

But thank you for my new quick and lazy, pop-up-free converter - I'm adding it to my arsenal!

Hi TexasMom,

What pdf converters have you tried?

Some of them won't convert links for you at all, some will only convert links in the form www dot warriorforum dot com. (Warriorpdf should do this for you.)

Some will convert embedded links like CLICK HERE which directs them to your chosen site. (As far as I can make out WarriorPdf doesn't do this - but I'm open to correction on this one!)

And some will do all kinds of links.

What kind of links are not working for you?

If you like, you can copy and paste a paragraph of what you are trying to convert and I'll see if I can convert it for you and let you know what pdf converter might work for you (it's free ones you are looking for I take it).

Does Warrior PDF preserves the hyperlink ? I found a lot of free pdf converter out there does not preserves hyperlinks. All hyperlinks in my documents converted with other converter are not clickable...

It works for links that start with www - ie the full form. If you want to preserve embedded links, ie ordinary text that's clickable and leads to your site, then it doesn't do this.

To preserve all hyperlinks for free, I use OpenOffice, or PDF995. OpenOffice is the easiest to use but you might be too comfortable with your current text editing software (eg Microsoft Word) to start learning a new one.

PDF995 is good in that case, a little tricky to set up properly at first, but works with a click on your Word toolbar after that.

While you are waiting for Allen to confirm,...

CLICK HERE hyperlinks won't get converted, only full addresses like www dot mysite dot com.

This is a problem with many free pdf converters. There are some ways to do it though. (See post just before your post!

Seems that everyone has good luck with creating PDF's except me....I've tried them all it seems, and I have the same problem with each one... When I came across this one, I thought "oh yeah....Mabye this one will create my pdf with "active" links instead of dead one.......but it still didn't work. My ebook is full of links and they all work fine when I create them in "WORD" but when I try and create a pdf file from the word doc., they never work. How can I fix this?

Really easy to use and quick to download and install - thank you! For ebooks with www or http links it works quickly and with no fuss, I'll be using it for any of my ebooks without hidden or embedded links for definite. OpenOffice was the quickest and easiest to use I've found to date, but it means relearning all my Microsoft Word skills, (I'm too lazy for that!) so I'm getting used to it bit by bit! For now I have to cut and paste into it from word into OpenOffice writer and then tidy it up a bit before I convert it to PDF. WarriorPDF is easier in the meantime. Shame it doesn't do ordinary embedded links like 'click here' - Am I right? Or tables of contents and bookmarks. OpenOffice does all these and I have to say, and if I were starting out with ebooks I'd definitely use it. PDF995 also does all I need for a typical ebook - links, hidden links, tables of contents, security - and I use this for now with my word documents while I get used to OpenOffice as a word processor. It's not as easy to install or use as WarriorPDF though, at least not at first, though once you install it on your toolbar it's fairly painless. (Getting that installed is a bit tricky though!) Oh yes, and you have to put up with annoying pop-up ads when you use the free version. But thank you for my new quick and lazy, pop-up-free converter - I'm adding it to my arsenal! Regards, Steve
