    Hey guys,

Just wanted to quickly add that we've already got tons of signups, have contacted everybody and already arranged a few high-potential deals. Thanks everybody!

That said - there's still room for 5-10 JV Partners and a few smaller affiliates so sign up before the competition starts next week!

    Cheers,
    Bryan

I'm still trying to discern if the "only looking for 10-20 jv partners" is a scarcity tactic or not. To me it's fine either way. I'm just looking for some transparency on this.

My thinking would be to allow anyone and everyone become a jv partner. The more the registered jvs the merrier. We all know it doesn't cost more to send to a hundred more e-mails, nor to let more view the contests, stats, rollout, etc...

Can anyone list the reasons why one would limit the amount of jv partners one has to promote something?

    Hey sgooey,

Nope, it's not a scarcity tactic.

The reason behind limiting the number of affiliates is very simple really. Well, there's two actually:

    1) Our goal is to work closely together with affiliates and to provide them with as much support (including customised materials, unique landing pages etc.) as possible. Even though we have a dedicated Affiliate Manager, her time is limited and it makes much more sense to devote 8 hour per day to managing 20ish JV partners and a few (promising) smaller affiliates as opposed to hundreds of affiliates, the majority of whom would require the same kind of support but would only bring a sale or two per month.

    2) We want to keep the product "clean" so to speak and make it easy and convenient for our JV partners to promote it. With a public affiliate program, there would be thousands of links (as well as cookie stuffers and other "parasites") on the net and the product wouldn't be as attractive any longer.

That said - we do accept "smaller affiliates", given that they know what they're doing and have a specific plan in place. To be honest, we're about to promote the affiliate program rather heavily in the near future - but each registration will still have to pass a thorough check and most likely we will allow new accounts to start with their promo campaigns only once the people who sign up now and reach a deal are through with their initial promotions.

I hope it made sense and made things a bit more clear
