Easy Video Player 2.0 - JV Opportunity

Hey Guys,

Josh Bartlett is gearing up to launch Easy Video Player 2.0 on October 19th!

Back in January of this year, Easy Video Player 1.0 was launched. The launch converted at 7% and had less than a 3% refund rate. The people who promoted averaged about $109 per sale. This time around the product is even bigger and better!

Some of the new features in EVP 2.0 include:
  • FULL Video Split Testing
  • Video Overlays!
(clickable call to actions at any time, during the video!)
  • "Elements" - Control your webpage during your video!
(Make buttons appear, titles, arrows, anything, at specified points!)
  • Complete redesigned powerful User Interface!
(Easier to use more powerful features than ever!)
  • Affiliate Videos!
(Let viewers brand the links within your video with THEIR affiliate links!)
  • Full iPad & iPhone support
(including after video events, like opt in forms and buttons)
  • PLUS, MUCH MORE! (And all the GREAT features of EVP1.0)

This thing is going to be really big. If you are interested in grabbing more details check out this link:
- EasyVideoPlayer JV Blog

Over the next couple days, I'll post some demonstration videos of what EVP 2.0 can do. I guarantee this things is going to excite the hell out of you!

Feel free to ask me any questions or contact me for me details. I'll do whatever I can to help you make this as successful for you as possible!

Thanks,
Matt Wolfe

P.S. Check out the link above for details on a huge launch contest too!

Thanks. Yes I am looking forward to EVP 2.0. I see from the list of new features that it is going to be powerful stuff.

I promoted the first version and thought it was well worth it and have already written a blog post announcing 2.0. I also wrote one announcing 1.5 but that didn't materialise!

I am keen to know the price for 2.0 and also whether those who buy 1.0 will get an automatic upgrade or whether there will be a fee for that?

Finally will we be able to get access to 2.0 to check it out before it hits the market place? Would like the chance to put it through it's paces!

    Hey Justin,

EVP 2.0 is going to be the same price as EVP 1.0. This is not a free upgrade to people who own 1.0 or 1.5. This is a brand new product. It has been completely redesigned and revamped and there are countless new features.

I'll send you a PM within the next couple days. I may be able to get you in to a demo copy that you can put through the motions and test a bit.

    Thanks,
    Matt

This is VERY disappointing. If this is a brand new product why did not you name it differently? Using the same name causes a sour feeling for some existing customers including me. You go from EVP 1.0 into EVP 2.0 so this is natural customers expect free upgrade.

Fixing EVP 1.0 bugs is not an upgrade in my opinion.

In addition, I purchased EVP 1.0 on July 6 which is 4 months ago. Today I found out you are launching EVP 2.0 but for another $127. If I would have known you are in a middle of coding for much better version of EVP 1.0, I would waited.

Even half of EVP 2.0 discount won't make me feel better because I should not pay more. If this is EVP as you call it yourself, existing customers should get a free upgrade as promised.

According to you EVP 2.0 has "...PLUS, MUCH MORE! (And all the GREAT features of EVP1.0) ..." so I dont understand why it is a different product?

After all this is your product and your call but as a customer I dont like twists of this kind this is a completely new software built from the ground so you can charge it again and void free upgrades.

Please let me know if people like me who paid 4 months ago qualify for a free EVP 2.0 Whatever you decide I will be fine BUT I am NOT IMPRESSED the way you treat your customers.

HINT, HINT.... All EVP 1.0 customers should get free upgrades.

      Thank you

Check out this video Josh just made about the brand new split-testing feature in EVP 2.0. Keep in mind when going to this page that the entire page (with comments and all) was made inside of EVP 2.0. With EVP 2.0 anyone can generate a page just like this!

Easy Video Player EVP2 Video Split Testing

    You gotta see it!

Thanks Matt, I would very much appreciate early access.

I guess from the earlier statement I am going to expect a couple of refunds from anyone who bought EVP 1.0 from my link in the last 60 days, or if the price is going to remain the same will they be automatically upgraded if it was a recent purchase? Either way I better edit my bonus page!

Also without wishing to sound churlish I was one of the original EVP betatesters who bought an early version way back when it was a WSO. I vaguely remember being told then that it was going to include lifetime upgrades, but I expect I will sell enough copies to pay for EVP 2.0 if I have to!

      Best wishes, Justin

PS Yes the video is well worth watching!

    Hey Justin,
If someone purchased within the last 60 days, they can just contact our support during launch and we'll send them a new copy to avoid the refund.

EVP 2.0 is a brand new product. It's not an upgrade. The original EVP has had over 12 updates in the last 10 months at no extra cost. People who do not buy EVP 2.0 will continue to receive all of the support that they've always had as well as some slight updates here and there to the EVP 1.0 system.

This is a new program that has been completely redesigned from the ground up. It kept the Easy Video Player name because people know it and it has an amazing reputation.

Saying that, existing members will have an early bird opportunity to get in to the new version at a discounted price. More details on this will be released to the JV mailing list.

If you haven't signed up yet as an affiliate, you can do so here:
    - EasyVideoPlayer JV Blog

Otherwise, keep checking back to this thread. I'll keep you updated with new videos about all the cool new features.

It's a bit unfair for the existing members to
watch this version rolling out, to be honest...

I mean, if existing members will go ahead and buy
this version too and then 3.0 and so on and so forth, what's
the point then? Let's wait a few years ...

I am definitely going to promote this to my list,
since I did not promote the 1.0 version (and bought it instead

Looking forward to this, looks like a
real silver buller for video marketing fans.

Thanks for the support Igor! We really appreciate it!

As far as the upgrade, Josh is actually going to release version 1.5 within the next couple weeks as a free upgrade to anyone who already owns EVP 1.0 and doesn't want to purchase EVP 2.0. 1.5 isn't going to have all of the new features of 2.0 but it will still have quite a bit of cool new features.

Easy Video Player 2.0 is a new program from the ground up. Think of it as the difference between Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. It's a completely different program and is therefore being sold as a completely different program.

Anyone who wants to simply post videos on their website quick and easy will probably be just fine sticking with the EVP 1.0 or the 1.5 upgrade. People who want to dominate in affiliate marketing with video, do product launches with video, or are serious about selling products using video, should probably seriously consider EVP 2.0.

The new features are amazing and they should definitely be in any marketer's tool belt.

Thanks to everyone who has signed on to support us already. We really have been overwhelmed with amazing comments and feedback already!

    Thanks again!

Hey guys - I'm definitely going to promote EVP 2.0 not only because it's a great program, but people really need it and love it.

A couple have mentioned that it might be too early for a 2.0 release and a separate paid product... I'll just tell you from personal beta testing, it's COMPLETELY worth it!

This is entirely different and adds way more options, player types, flexibility, testing to your videos and more. There's absolutely no doubt that EVP 2.0 is a different program from the ground-up (just like a new version of Windows would be). You can just tell from the split-testing video posted above.

Either way, this is going to be an awesome program to promote and your subscribers they are going to love it!

    I can't wait

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I worked hard all year on this product as well as on working hard on 1.0

Let me just confirm a few points.

I had a huge amount of people tell me 1.0 should be a monthly fee and I fought this and kept it a one off lifetime price because thats just how I wanted to do it. I believe in looking after people and offering GREAT value rather than just chasing money.

Since the 1.0 launch, I have stayed true to my word and upgraded 1.0 regularly with new features, speed increases, updates and a new design.

I honestly know of NO other marketer who makes software who has updated their software as much as I have since the release of 1.0

1.0 users have our full support, and access to us for anything they need help with, including converting video files. On top of that, they have had around 12 upgrades for free as I promised.

We are continuing to upgrade 1.0 and support it, this is NOT replacing 1.0.

Also, we are working right now on just releasing a MAJOR upgrade for 1.0 users for free, called 1.5

This gives a totally new design, iPad and iPhone support for your videos, plus about 5 other kick ass new features and some revisions.

Again, this is 100% FREE for anyone who bought 1.0 for the ONE off payment of $127

They can continue to use 1.0 forever, after the launch of 2.0, with full support at NO extra cost, and can upgrade to 1.5 for free.

However, we also worked hard, alongside working on 1.0 upgrades to make an entirely new product..

This product is Easy Video Player 2.0

It is called Easy Video Player 2.0 because, 1) we have a lot of brand recognition and 2) because the 2.0 represents a compete reinvention.

We coded this from the ground up, its a new product, a new program with a new user interface, a new way of playing videos, a HUGE range of brand new features that NO other product on the market can offer you.

And again, we are keeping well away from 1) The monthly pricing and 2) The popular high ticket $2,000 pricing. We are keeping this VERY affordable and offering lifetime licences.

At the same time we will continue to support and tweak 1.0 and that is free for the one time investment of $127 that 1.0 users made.

If you bought 1.0 within the 60 day time period from launch obviously we will supply you with 2.0 as well as 1.0 to save any hassle. We dont have to do this but I believe in treating people right.

On top of the continual upgrades for free for 1.0 users, and the major new revision 1.5 which is also free, we are also going to offer EXCLUSIVE first access to the new product Easy Video Player 2.0 to existing customers of mine.

This means, we will be offering a special Early bird discount and existing customers will get FIRST access to this. it is limited quantities but I am giving it to you guys first to make sure you get your chance at a discount as well as all the free stuff I have been sending your way.

If you dont take advantage of the early discount, then Easy Video Player 2.0 will be full price.

It is your choice to buy the totally new program, or keep your lifetime license to EVP1.0 and continue to receive your support and free upgrades for that product.

Ask yourself one thing, what other software product have you bought that has been this high quality and had 12 or more upgrades inside of a year?

We are committed to changing the bad things about this industry, partly by giving exceptional value and that is what we are doing here.

I hope that explains everything to anyone who has any confusion and most of all, remember, I am a fair guy... If we get a HUGE response to the early discount offer from existing users, I will extend it just for you guys.

I want to make sure you get a great deal AND great value.

Thank you for all of your support.

Heres to a HUGE launch and I look forward to showing you some of the really COOL things Easy Video Player 2.0 can do over the coming weeks

    Stay tuned.

The price tag for EVP 2.0 will be the same as last time. It will be $127.

As far as a bonus, any sort of information product regarding how to make videos, marketing with videos, or how to effectively use video would probably work well...

I haven't owned EVP and am not a techie. I can build Wordpress sites quickly.

I want to host videos on a Wordpress site. I read this from someone who uses and likes EVP:
The only downside is you have to install Easy Video Player on our site (including creating a MySQL DB).
I have no clue how to create a MySQL DB on a Wordpress site. How difficult is this for someone who hasn't done that? And where would I find instructions on how to install?

      Thanks!

You create a MySQL database using your site's main control panel. It is pretty straight forward and I have a video showing how to do it below. This is for EVP 1, but I suspect EVP 2.0 will be pretty similar. Unfortunately I havent yet got my hands on EVP 2.0, so I don't know ofr certain.

The bit about creating the SL database is at around the 3 minute mark.

Well, as an existing customer of EasyVideoPlayerPro (EVP) and EasySiteCreator (ESC) i'm torn.

I bought both scripts in February.

There were a lot of updates of EVP, that's right, but they mostly consisted of bugfixes.

(Strangely the information about these updates was not send by email to existing customers. I only got aware of them when visiting the EVP site. Instead i received quite some promotional mails for 3rd party products.)

Until today i got no info about an upcoming version 1.5 so far. The latest EVP release is 1.1.28. In fact today i heard the first time from Webactix about EVP 2.0.

I like to see release 1.5 of EVP before i (have to) decide to upgrade to 2.0 or not.

Not so much happened since my purchase for ESC.

Now both products seem to get melted into one product line.

8 month after my purchase, there is a major overhaul of the product.

It's true, from the features of EVP 2.0 i've seen so far, it's really a big step forward.

As an exisitng customer i feel neglected and not treated properly.

I wasn't asked for my opinion or about any features i 'd like to see in the "lifetime" updates of my purchase.

As software doesn't fall from the sky and needs some time to be developed, it looks like this was all in the making already when i bought in February.

Thus i get the impression that i was buying a beta version then of what is to be released now.

The new release is positioned as new product, but the product name stays the same - except the adding of "2.0" - to benefit from the existing branding.

So to the "outer" world the signal is continuation, but for existing customers it has become a new product that's not covered by the lifetime updates ... quite a logical stretch - and not easy to follow.

Thus i hope there will be a huge enough discount for existing customers to make us feel good about the Webactix release policy, instead of bad ...

    Everyone,

Let me address this right here and now.

We created Easy Video Player 1 because we wanted to help people and solve a problem.

We didn't create it to make a quick profit. We did it because we wanted to help people.

We got excellent feedback worldwide from our customers as a result. Many people say the product is the best product they have EVER bought online. We have had the same sort of comments about our support.

I put my heard and soul into the product to make sure it was a product MORE than worthy of your time and money. (Unlike so many other people in this industry unfortunately)

Since the release of EVP1, we have worked FULL time on the product, never slowing down. In fact, I have a team employed just to work on EVP1.

Since launch of EVP1, we have stayed on top of things and released regular bug fixes week by week to make sure the product is as HIGH quality as possible. (Again unfortunately, unlike many people in this industry who forget their products after they sell them)

On TOP of that we have also released no less than 12 100% FREE upgrades for EVP1 since we launched it. (not bug fixes, upgrades)

The new 1.5 upgrade, which is again FREE, took us months to make, it has a new design and full iPad and iPhone support.

Now, ask yourself one question. What other person in the internet marketing community has upgraded your product that many times after purchase for free? What other person in this industry has tried so hard to keep their customers happy?

We could of (and were advised to by marketing buddies) charged a nominal fee for every upgrade and turned that into a small profit centre. We decided, no, lets be cool and just over deliver for our customers. Why? Its the kind of guy I am. I genuinely like over delivering and being cool to people.

Bear in mind, we don't HAVE to provide that level of upgrades for our customers, we do it because I honestly believe in looking after people and doing the right thing. I have continued to work night and day on EVP1 for you guys and employed an entire team to help me do JUST that. I could of made exactly the same amount of money from never upgrading EVP1 and put in a LOT less work.. I don't look at it like that. I CARE about my customers and without asking for any upgrade fee's in return since it was released, I worked on giving my customers what I thought they might want.

Remember, EVP1 was outstanding value for money, we over delivered and gave you MORE than you paid for. (Thats what YOU told us) And, you still have all of that value.

Now, this brings us to EVP2..

EVP2 is a new product, it has been created with new code from the ground up, a new user interface, a new design, totally new features and completely new scope from the first product. It integrates with social media and makes video pages.

The scope and range of this product is beyond what EVP1 set out to achieve. It is a response to what people in the industry tell us they want, that cant just be added as an upgrade to an existing product. It is an entirely new beast.

It is honestly another extremely high quality, first class product I can stand behind. In an industry filled with so much junk, sold by people just out for themselves, I am PROUD to stand by EVP1 and also my new product EVP2 and know, I give GREAT value to people and make products that help try to make the industry a better place.

    Now,

For a person saying, "I paid a $127 one off fee for EVP1, that means I should get every other product and new version or incarnation of EVP technology for life, for 100% free forever"

    ask yourself this..

What happened last time you bought a copy of Windows? Do you get XP free because you bought the last version? NO.

Do you get the iPhone 4 for free because you bought an iPhone 3GS? NO

Do you get Photoshop CS5 for free because you bought CS4? NO
(Do you ask Adobe to change the name of Photoshop because you bought an older version and don't get the newest one for free? NO)

Do you phone up your local car dealer and tell them you want the newest Ford because you bought an old one? NO

Do you get the latest Office 2010 for free because you bought 2008? NO

    Why? well..

People don't work for free. We need to get paid to continue to support our customers and existing products, to continue to innovate in the industry and create new great products that can help make you money. We have a team of full time staff here to support our customers full time, they need to be paid.

    The key facts are:

EVP1 is a high quality stand out product that stands above a lot of other products in the industry, it is not obsolete just because we make something else, we are not telling people they have to buy EVP2 or EVP1 will never work again.

In fact, I will still be using EVP1 myself, along with EVP2.

EVP1 is yours, for LIFE for the ONE TIME payment of only $127.
(And anything else that gave you even 10% of what EVP1 does, charges you monthly!)

We gave you all of EVP1 for LIFE for a one of low fee.

We had people in the industry tell us to sell it for $497, we had people tell us to make it monthly.. Guess what, I said no.. I thought, "A lot of people cant afford $487, or a monthly fee. I still want them to have it and get the benefits, I want to make it affordable"

    So I did.

Remember, it's still yours, we will still FULLY support it to the best of our ability and we still actually have upgrades in mind.

EVP2 is a BRAND new product, it takes where EVP1 left off and works in site creation and social branding and buzz creation as well as other kick ass features designed for marketers.

    It is an evolution.

Now, to state for the record the situation for existing customers..

    * Very soon, we WILL be offering an upgrade pricing for existing customers. This will be a discount off of the price of EVP2 because we appreciate you and want to say thanks for being a customer. (And I believe in doing the right thing)

We will be emailing you in the next few days. You will have a limited time to claim this discount and you will have the chance to claim this BEFORE we go live with EVP2.

This is the way it works, its fair, it means we can all work on creating advances on software that will GENUINELY help make you money and save you time but we ARE offering a little something for loyal customers to thank them and get it to them for a discount..

I am sorry if anyone thinks that is unfair but, to be blunt.. You are being unrealistic.. I know of NO ONE who is fairer than that in this entire industry. I am pretty sure you will have to admit the same.

    SO, LETS RECAP:

    * We provided you with a first class product that stood head and shoulders above the competition (YOU Told us that) and deliberately stayed away from charging monthly like we were advised, just because we wanted to give YOU, the customers, GREAT value.

    * We commenced to work full time for you, providing you with 12 free upgrades, constant bug fixes and full time support to the best of our human ability. We invested a lot of the money EVP1 made into our support system, for you guys. (In an industry where unfortunately most of the products you buy are forgotten about the minute you buy them) We did what we did because we CARE about our customers.

    * We worked on a new product that is a quantum leap based on everything we have learnt, worked hard on spending our time on testing and inventing and developing for months

    * We are releasing that product and customers can choose to stay with what they have if they wish, or buy the new product if they want it.

    * Those who wish to buy, as long as they act when we email them the details, will have the chance to buy the new version at a discounted price, as a show of our gratitude to our customers.

Think about the industry and it is plain to see that I am one of the good guys, and not only that, I am working HARD to try and change this industry for the better.

Thank you all for being our customers, we appreciate it sincerely, we never forget it and that is why we work so hard on what we do.

Hey Josh, I agree 100% with your address previously.

EVP is perfect for me... so thanks to you and your team.

I predominantly use Wordpress and I integrate EVP with AmazonS3... it's a great system.

However, I'm a bit unsure about using EVP 2.0 with Wordpress and creating video pages. How does EVP 2.0 create a page within the Wordpress framework?

Will you be creating a user manual or how-to videos for EVP 2.0 with Wordpress?

    Thanks

    Mark

      Hi Josh

I am one of the early purchasers of Easy Video Player 1.0 and have been very happy with it.

When you announced the release of EVP 2.0 I naturally assumed this was an upgrade and it would come without cost as was promised in the presell for version 1.

You will catch a lot of flack with many existing purchasers of version 1 because version 2 is being sold to us as an upgrade not a new product.

This is the headline of your email to me recently:
This email is to give you details and
      notice of our upgrade discount
      program for existing EVP1 users.

You are telling me yourself you see it as an upgrade and even with customers who purchased within the last 60 days you are going to give them the new product for free. Why would you do that if it is a brand new product and they had actually purchased an existing product? Even I would not expect that if they are indeed two different products.

The thing is Josh I see you as one of the good guys, who has worked hard to bring these products to us and without doubt many have benefited from them including myself.

But PERCEPTION in selling is the key to keeping good will and wanting people to stay with you. If customers feel they are taken advantage of then you will have a hard job to change that view.

      Good luck with the launch
      Grahame

Thanks for the kind comment Mark, I am glad you like EVP

Video pages would be made when you want to create a specific page for the video itself really easily and quickly.. Its a great way to help it go viral fast because of the built in social sharing too.

You can still embed videos on your blog but now you have the option to make those pages for your video too. If you wanted the video JUST for your blog you would probably not use the video page feature for that video.. But, there is no harm in doing both with a few more clicks of your mouse

it is a great way to create a page in seconds, set it to share on the social networks, let it go viral and grab attention for the video.

      Thanks,

Grahame, I have already comprehensively explained all this above..

If you can read that post and still see a problem with the way I run my business, then I am sorry but there is not a lot I can do..

The reason customers who JUST bought will get it for free is because I am being a good guy and doing a cool thing.. You know what, you are right, there is now way on earth that I have to do that.. But I wanted to be cool to people and sure, I will probably get some flack from some people just for being nice.. But you cant please everyone.

The fact is, EVP2 will replace EVP1 on the EVP sales page in future and I wanted to give people the chance who just went and purchased to get the product that will be there when we launch because it was so soon.

(And you are right, probably, nobody else would do this)

(And although we wont actively sell EVP1 anymore, we will still be supporting it and also providing MORE free upgrades for its users, just like we have abundantly done so far)

EVP1 has always come with free updates, in fact, I have given 12 free updates (NOT BUG FIXES but new features like:

    *video streaming support,
    *Amazon S3 bucket importing,
    *New social share button features,
*Host using your own server option
*Improved Geo stats for your videos
    .... and more!

I NEVER charged for one of those upgrades, ever.. Because it was an upgrade to EVP1 and I like to be cool to my customers and give them those for free)

EVP2 is the new product, we built it from the ground up, we didnt add it onto EVP1, sure we used similar features as PART of what it does, but we designed EVP2 from the ground up..

    The fact is......

EVP1 users get EVP1 upgrades for free, they still will and I have already over delivered.

They DONT get EVP2 upgrades, and whatever else I do upgrades, as well as everything I have already given.

Sorry, but thats the way it is, its fair and I have over delivered and looked after my customers by the bucketload already.

Customers will continue to get support and upgrades for EVP1 if they decide to keep it and its still the great product it ever was..

ON TOP of this, I decided to be cool and offer my existing customers of EVP a discount if they wanted to transition to EVP2.

Sure, I perhaps should of called it a "transitional discount" so that there was no chance anyone could call me out and complain even though I have given so MUCH for free to my customers AND given them a discount on this new product..

But, like I said, you cant please everyone.

I can sleep at night knowing I have done more for my customers than anyone else I know.. and I have had a huge amount of emails thanking me for what I do, and for all the freebies I have given customers even though i didn't need to. We didnt need to give 12 upgrades, we could of given 2..

I released more free upgrades than most IM software product creators EVER release, JUST this year, for my customers.

If anyone reads all of that post and this one and still think this is unfair then ask yourself,

did you receive outstanding value for your one time payment of $127? Can you honestly say that by providing 12 kick ass free upgrades to you already, I have not stuck by my word? I KNOW I have, and I know you know I have, because of how hard I worked to do so and because so many of my customers tell me..
If anyone still want to complain even when they know thats true, then with all due respect, I have nothing else to say and I wish them good luck with their ventures..

I wont be doing more than giving what I have given:

    1) 12 great upgrades that have improved the product, for free to my customers INSIDE a year. (and will continue to give them free EVP1 upgrades)

    2) A heavy discount opportunity on my new product EVP2

    3) Full support and ongoing upgrades on EVP1, to a higher level than most in this industry to back up their purchase so they have full peace of mind that we care and are there for them.

You want to keep EVP1 and continue to get free upgrades on EVP1? Fine, go ahead, we have stuff in the pipeline already.

If you want the latest brand new shiny reinvention and re imagination of the EVP concept that is EVP2, you have to part with some money. (I just make sure I give you a great discount to make the choice easier but the choice is yours, either way you have a great product)

This is the same with EVERY software product, in our industry or anywhere else.

Keyword Elite, Microsoft or Apple.. Its all the same. The only difference to most is I have given more value and more upgrades to EVP1 than I needed to, AND more often than anyone else in this industry I know.

When its time to let an older product get replaced by a brand new recreation, the best I can do is, provide a great discount for loyal customers and vow to keep EVP1 alive, supported and STILL upgraded for free.. and that is EXACTLY what I have done.

That is all I have to say on the subject.

Thanks a lot Brian, I really appreciate the kind words. I genuinely think about you guys (customers) first and I'm glad to hear you like my products.!

Also thanks for the feedback about promotions!

I am actually extremely careful who I promote and have only promoted approx 6 offers this entire year!

But I accept that 1: when I promote I tend to mail over 3 days and 2: I dont have a way set up right now to give the option to opt out if you ONLY want product info. (I get a lot of people who like getting my recommendations too)

Does anyone know how to do this in Aweber so I can set it up so subscribers in existing lists have the choice to "opt down"?

      Josh,

When someone joins your customer list, you can automatically
subscribe then to multiple other lists at the same time (as you're
      still using AWeber):

      http://www.aweber.com/faq/questions/...ist+At+Once%3F

So, you could have a list like evp2cust (for EVP2 customers) and
use AWeber's automation rules to automatically sign them up
to say your newsletter list at the same time.

And they only receive one e-mail link requesting them to confirm
      their subscription.

That way, when someone buys, they'll be added to two lists
automatically. Thereafter, they can choose to stay on both lists
or remove themself from one or both later if they want to.

Like Brian and Alan, I'm an EVP1 customer that sees tremendous
value in your EVP products, but I ended up unsubscribing from
the customer list because of the excess affiliate promotions
      last year.

(If I had the choice of just receiving e-mails relating to EVP
I would have stayed on a list just for that purpose).

Now, I just get updates etc via the members area.

Anyways, I don't know what some people are nickel and diming
for. A one-time payment for EVP1 and EVP2 is more than worth
it - at least there's no monthly fee.

(I use Camtasia Studio and whenever I upgrade from one version
to another they charge me $150 each time).

That said, I wouldn't say that EVP2 is a new product. Instead, it's
an major upgrade from EVP1 - with significant additional features
and benefits that are worth paying for.

      Dedicated to your success,

      Shaun

forgive me my ignorance but what is EVP2 software-wise?

is it desktop application with huge download files, or is it hosted on some sort of membership site?

how much of bandwidth is it expected to take to host it on own website?

the video editing is done on my own PC or on the server at the membership site?

you see i don't have a PC capable of video-editing, so what about hardware requirements to use EPV2?

I appreciate your PM and your long post trying to explain your point of view.

I still have a problem with the following:

If EVP 1.0 wasn't part of EVP 2.0 and the product name was different, I would not have a problem. It seems to me you have made a major EVP 1.0 upgrade, incorporated it into EVP 2.0 and called it completely new software, though it carries the same name. In reality it is a continuation of EVP 1.0. Matt Wolfe states himself at the top of this thread that EVP 1.0 is part of EVP 2.0.

You can't blame customers they may feel you are not straight with them. To me this is not about money but integrity and what is right thing to do.

Ford and Adobe don't promise free upgrades but you did in your EVP 1.0 sales letter. I appreciate you put your heart and soul into EVP 2.0 development and I agree this is a great piece of software probably worth more money you ask for but no matter how much work has been involved in EVP 2.0 development a promise is a promise. You should keep it no matter what and give a free upgrade to existing members.

I also appreciate the fact you work hard to take care of your customers but this is completely different topic. It has nothing to do how EVP 2.0 launch is being handled and EVP 1.0 customers may feel about it.

Next time give yourself a favour. Change the product name and/or don’t include first version in the second one. I guarantee your customers won’t feel neglected.

Purely as a matter of interest and in case I ever find myself in the same position, would you be as annoyed if Josh was still selling EVP 1.0, tho upgrated to 1.5 and selling EVP 2 as a seperate product called something like EVP Pro but with a higher price?

I am saying what I am saying as a customer who was promised free updates.
You are saying what you are saying as an affiliate who is trying to sell the product. That's the difference.

I don't think that what Josh is doing is right for his customers. And this is not a money matter.

You have here many other software developers like TweetAtacks, Scrapebox, Bookmarkwiz and others who are keeping their word and provide free updates to their softwares, even if a new version.

These are comparable softwares. Not Microsoft.

I don't think this is a smart move. Keeping the promises and taking care of current customers should be a primary concern to any businessman.

The point though is that EVP 2.0 is a different product to EVP 1.0. You are getting a new product if you buy EVP 2.0. I guess the thing to do is to think of it as Video Player Pro, rather than Easy Video Player. If Josh had carried on selling Easy Video Player 1, and released Easy Video Player 2 as a different product, then I don't think there would be any grounds for confusion at all.

Whilst I do vaguely see where you are coming from, and indeed was the 1st person on this thread to ask whether this was a free upgrade for 1.0 or not, I can quite clearly understand that this is a very different product to EVP 1.0 with some similarities, so I do think that Webactix is entirely within its rights to sell it as a different product, which is what they are doing. Especially as EVP 1 is still being supported and indeed a new version with iphone and ipad compatability is being launched at the same time.

From my point as an affiliate for EVP, I would be happier if they released EVP 2.0 as a standalone product to EVP 1, as that way I would have two high quality products to promote rather than just one that would appeal to different audiences.

I'm not sure how anyone could possibly be disappointed. Anyone who purchased EVP1 has had 12 upgrades (with new features) and they will continue to receive more updates. Josh is releasing EVP1.5 as a free upgrade to EVP1 customers and that includes a ton of new features itself. In my opinion, that is pretty damn cool!

Now Josh released a brand new program and everyone who purchased a different program of his feels like they should get it for free? In my opinion, it sounds like people are saying what they can to try to take advantage of Josh... Not the other way around.

When you purchased EVP1, you purchased a program that allows you to easily host videos on Amazon S3. It was basically an alternative to the competition which charges monthly. Since then, you've had 12 upgrades and will continue to get updates for life on EVP1. Nothing has changed. The program still does what you purchased it to do and you still have free support and upgrades for life...

If you feel that you haven't gotten your money's worth from EVP1, feel free to jump over to the competitor and pay the monthly fee to host your videos.

EVP2 is a brand new program and, had Josh done what most marketers probably would have done, and launched it under a completely new name, people wouldn't be in here claiming that they are entitled to a free copy.

If you are disappointed that EVP2 is coming out and it's not free, don't buy it. Keep using EVP1 because it's still just as good as the day you bought it.

This thread was designed to round up affiliate partners and, luckily, 99% of the people that know about EVP2 are thrilled with what it is, what it can do, and all of the features. Close to 2,000 marketers have signed on to help promote and even more customers have been in contact with us to tell us how excited they are that Josh is hooking them up with a discount. I'm personally extremely excited about the launch of EVP2 and, luckily, I'm in the majority.

    Kasida,

I wont comment on this more as I have given a clear update above which shows how fair and honest I am being..

I am sorry but, you are completely wrong..

I HAVE kept my promise! I promised free upgrades for life for EVP1.

So far I have delivered, with 12 feature upgrades. More than any other software people I know, just as I said I would.

You want to ignore those and skip to looking at EVP2 and say "well, he's just upgraded version 1" without even looking at EVP2? Go for it, you are wrong.

    And, just to point out,

EVERY SINGLE SOFTWARE COMPANY IN THE WORLD FINALLY RELEASES A BRAND NEW VERSION AND CHARGE AN UPGRADE FEE.

And yes, even if they are kind enough to offer free upgrades on the first version....!

The only difference is, usually you don't get so many new features for free on the first version you buy..

Yes, Adobe DO promise free upgrades for each version! The difference? They usually only release perhaps one new feature and just focus on small tweaks and bug fixes.. Then eventually they release the next version for an upgrade fee.

I have released more, does that make me a bad guy? NO. It means you have had amazing value from me, and I have looked after you.. and you still have a kick ass product.

In fact, you have ANOTHER free upgrade to look forward to just around the corner, EVP1.5

Its not like we are even stopping giving you guys free upgrades to 1.5 even in the midst of a new product being released.. Who else does this?!

Your brand new free upgrade will include iPad and iPhone support in full, a new user interface design to spruce things up, new video skins and a new improved easy bulk video uploader..

Again, thats entirely free, as I promised to EVP1 owners.

if you feel somehow let down by that, sorry but I don't even want to try and please you.

If you want EVP2? Sorry you have to pay for it..

Because I am a cool guy, I will be giving existing customers a generous discount if they wish to buy it.. Have a problem with that too?

Dont buy it! Keep EVP1 and CONTINUE TO GET FREE UPGRADES AS YOU HAVE ALWAYS HAD.

It would be one thing if I didn't make good on my word and give you upgrades to EVP1 and then release another product, its another thing when I have over delivered so much that I have hundreds of customers emails and video testimonials telling me they cant believe how much I have done for them.

As for the name thing.. you know what?

You are right, I could of changed the name entirely to something like "Viral Video Pro" or something, ignored the similar features and then you know what?

It would have been easier for me to NOT offer a discounted upgrade offer, never discuss any of this and then the few existing customers who bought it and saw it had cross over features would have loved it enough to keep it for the new stuff when they saw the value I am giving anyway.

Would of made me more money, would of stopped me from having to give upgrades to existing customers and you know what.. it may well be what a lot of the people in this industry would of done..

Me, I'm just not that kind of guy.

Adobe dont change Photoshops name when CS5 comes out. They give free upgrades (not many) to CS4 users and then an upgrade pricing for CS5 to those people. They dont change the entire name just because a tiny amount of people will always feel entitled to every related enhancement of Photoshop forever and a day.

And you know what, thats the issue, some people are never happy.

I can sleep at night knowing I have given INCREDIBLE value and stood by every word I have said, and now, customers have a choice to either stick with what they have and continue to enjoy that amazing value and free upgrades or buy the new version at a nice discount.

The choice is yours and I wont be drawn into any more conversation about it.

I have said all that needed to be said in my posts in this thread.

    And you know what??

I have had LOTS of emails from existing customers THANKING me for creating EVP2 and telling me that they cant wait to buy it.. and especially thanking me for offering them a cool discount too.

Its a shame there will always be a few negative people out of the THOUSANDS of happy customers. (we have had hundreds of customers email us saying they cant wait for EVP2 and thanking us for the discount)

If you feel neglected for buying a product that is an industry leading product AND cheaper than any competition, that then over delivers for you AND goes on to give you 12 free upgrades, and continues to think about you and give you more free upgrades EVEN when a new version comes out AND gives you a discount opportunity on the new version...

well, theres not a lot I can do about that..

    Good luck in your ventures.

I suspect people are getting confused because EVP 1 and EVP 2 have similar names.

If you bought EVP 1 you are still getting upgraded to EVP 1.5, which brings the original EVP to a great new level and allows you to embed your videos using html5 so it will work with mobile devices like the Ipod and Iphone.

If you bought recently in the past 60 days you are generously being upgraded to 2.0 for no additional cost.

EVP 2.0 does sound like a very different product with a number of hugely different features to those being offered with the original EVP. It could just as easily be launched as Professional Video Player and then those of you like me who bought, used and loved EVP 1, would have no grounds for complaint. As it is Josh and his team are obviously capatilising on their brand name and so it strikes me that EVP 2.0 falls very much in the same camp as Josh' example of Adobe CS 3, 4 and 5 where you have to buy the new version.

The sales pages that EVP 2.0 will be capable of creating are hugely powerful and I have seen similar solutions that cost around the same price as EVP 2.0. And the ability to allow affiliates to embed their links into your videos is for me another pretty awesome gamechanger.

For those who don't want to upgrade you certainly don't have to.

The reason why I loved Easy Video Player 1 was that for the first time it became really easy to upload videos to Amazon and to embed html direct into the videos. This remains true today.

Incidentally if anyone reading this bought the original EVP through my affiliate link and isn't on my mailing list and wants EVP 2.0, I will be refunding the commission if they buy 2.0 through my link, depending on what Josh's upgrade pricing is.

      OK, gotta jump in here.

I purchased EVP in August, and am excited about the possibility of the new upgrade. And the way this upgrade is being handled is pretty standard for the software / tech industry.

First ... 60 days is a standard free upgrade policy. If you buy a piece of software and within 60 days there is a major upgrade, you get the upgrade free. It looks like Josh is following suit. No problems there.

Second ... you should assume someone who supports their products is always going to be developing their next version. Does Apple broadcast when their new iMac is coming out? No. And you simply don't announce when a new version is going to be released because software development is not like writing an eBook. Its notoriously challenging stuff. Delays are part of the process. So that fact EVP did not broadcast their development plans six months ago ... no problem there.

Third ... its also pretty standard to offer a reduced price for existing customers when you come out with a new version. Josh has promised to do that ... no problem there.

Fourth ... I realize $127 is alot for some folks, especially with the economy. But Josh is right. There are competing products that charge yearly (or even monthly) fees. One, when it was first released was $497 a year. That isn't a misprint.

Fifth ... you don't have to buy the new version. The old version has plenty of features that will keep you extremely busy and profitable.

Sixth ... its common for total rewrites of software to go up in price. EVP will still be $127.

And finally ... what does it take to monetize $127? And it looks like there are a ton of features in the new version that, in time savings alone, will pay you back within months if not the first year.

In a perfect world, Josh is one of Trump*s kids and doesn't need the money and releases the software for free.

Since that isn't going to happen, what you hope for is a release which follows standard accepted ethical practices of the industry.

And to my mind, this one does.

    ednigot..

If you actually read my comment you will see I offered free upgrades to EVP1 for life, its been said by MANY people, its the same as any software company does.. I have honoured my word and actually over delivered.

The sad thing is, there is always a tiny proportion of people who like to complain, expect everything for free and even when you do right by them and give more than anyone else, they find a way to fault it.

its pretty obvious some of the few people who have complained in this thread are just trying to put pressure on me to give them something for free.

I always said, free upgrades for version 1 for life, thats what I have done.

If you actually read my comments you may understand that and stop spending time here complaining and instead get ready for the next 100% FREE upgrade I have worked hard to give you that I will be giving away in due course to my EVP1 customers.

We continue to honour our word.

I dont have to explain AGAIN why EVP2 is a new product, its actually totally obvious.. If people want to deliberately "not get it" so they can cause a stir and hope for a freebie,

well, please DONT buy EVP2.. I dont want you to, I dont want your money and will be giving you the same GREAT free upgrades you have been happily taking over the last year.. (The same upgrades that are WAY more than the companies you mention as comparisons, I am not taking about slight revisions, I am talking about totally newly introduced cool features.. like, how shortly, for free your EVP1 will suddenly have full iPad and iPhone support and light box ability.. for ZERO cost)

I am sure you will probably complain about that upgrade somehow, but there is nothing else I can do to be 100% cool to my customers.

As I have said, EVP2 is a new product, if you dont want it, please dont buy it, nobody is forcing you to, instead keep EVP1 and continue to get the free upgrades I promised.

You seem to be under the misguided impression I broke some kind of promise. If someone says they are going to give you free upgrades and they then go on to give you exactly 12, and then tell you.. "Hey, another one is on the way in a few weeks too.. oh and its still free"

If you reply to that by saying you are disappointed and feel like we are not keeping our promise, I have no idea how to even have a conversation with you.. What is there to say to that kind of illogical thinking?

But please dont complain as you sit back and benefit from the free features I keep sending you.

It's amazing how there are some people on this thread that feel like they are entitled to anything that Josh releases under the Easy Video Player name.

The argument that Josh isn't honoring his promise to give you lifetime upgrades to EVP1 is completely illogical. I don't know any other internet marketing software product owner who works as hard as Josh and his team do EVERYDAY to make EVP's usability, simple features and leading video technology available to their customers.

I think it's a hell of a promise that Josh made to give customers so many upgrades for nothing extra.

Shoot, I've had the pleasure to be a beta user of the newest upcoming free upgrade (EVP 1.5) and it's AMAZING! Even without that upcoming release with a re-design and added features, I would have gladly paid a monthly or a much larger one-time fee.

If you are an EVP customer and actually use the product and most of its features, you should understand how much of an effort Josh has put into his product to over-deliver to you. And the fact that he's even releasing an overhauled FREE upgrade to you (EVP 1.5) and will continue giving updates is going well beyond what is expected from the original measly $127 price tag.

And just as some said... Josh doesn't even WANT your money if you feel like you're being treated unfairly. The EVP version you have right now has been an accumulation of over a year of SOLID hard-work by him to give you the best features and ease to do anything with video online. Just keep EVP 1 and you'll be fine.

If you're in the "I'm entitled to everything EVP" crowd, read what Josh has said above and think what the industry norm is in IM... you've already received a product that completely blows away any other software product that costs $127.

the more I read the more confusing this is becoming.

I'm on your list and got no upgrade info for vers 1.0, the first I knew of upgrades were support tickets for issues, but thats by the by, the support is fantastic, no knocking them.

The upgrade price for existing customers is not the greatest but neverless one he didnt feel he needed to give so it is there if you want it (but I am a tight northern git, yes a bit of humour, a few seem to lack that nowadays round here)

    I would like to know the answer to this pls;
what are the main differences between
evp 1.5 (not yet released) and evp 2.0? or more to the point, what can you do in 2.0 that you wont be able to do with 1.5?

there is also an upgrade OPTION 2 Commercial Version for 2.0: is this available to vers 1. whatever number you wish to add apart from 2.0

    mmaeb,

Thanks for the kind words on our support. We try hard and I have spent a lot of time and money giving first class support. (Many customers tell me its the best they have had)

I have invested huge time and money into EVP1 support and upgrades for customers.

It is incredibly unfortunate that for every VERY negative freebie seeker there are hundreds if not thousands of extremely happy customers who have contacted us saying so, left testimonials, told us it is the best product they have ever bought or that they are amazed at the level we have gone to, to make the product better since launch..

    Re Existing Customer Discount:

The discount for existing owners is almost 50% discount!!!
Thats EXTREMELY generous by software standards!! (Or any standards)

Especially when you bear in mind the VALUE we have given our customers already for free!
I have given more value on this product than some $1000 products. It is actually genuinely absolutely mind blowing to see people who don't see that. We get SO many people tell us every day that they do see it, its a shame to see a handful try to kick up a fuss, most likely because they want a new product for free.

If you think the price is too high for you to spend right now, keep the existing version that does everything its ever done and more than it did when it came out due to our commitment to making it better with free new features and wait for EVP1.5 (the NEXT free upgrade)

Remember, we are not pushing you to buy EVP2.. It is your call.

    And,

    To clarify once again...!
(This is the same as every other software.. Look at Adobe Photoshop. CS3 (with upgrades) then move to CS4 (with upgrades) then move to CS5 etc etc etc... This is standard stuff folks!! (Its NOT an information product, its software)

    EVP1 - the original product.
All EVP1 upgrades are free. (As I promised, and have delivered) 12 so far. Download the latest version from the members area and check them out if you have not already.

EVP1.5 - The NEW FREE upgrade for existing EVP1 customers
(notice, more upgrades for free as I promised.. Still keeping the promise)
    New FREE features include:
    * New redesign for the layout to make it easier to use,
    * ipad *& iphone support via full HTML5 video players,
    * New Video skins,
    * Fast Video streaming,
    * New revised way of multiple video uploading,
    * 40% speed increase from previous versions. [/I]

EVP2 - Our BRAND NEW all redeveloped product.
This is the new version. Not an upgrade. As with pretty much ALL software companies on the planet, major new versions are an upgrade fee.

    Whats different about EVP2?
    * Re-coded from the ground up. More stable, stronger and faster.
    * An entirely new design and layout from scratch. Designed to make it EVEN easier.
    * Advanced video stat tracking including detailed Social Tracking.
    * New, advanced simple video page creation with comments and social viral sharing.
    * Elements! - Control your site whilst using the video (timed controls, such as a buy no button appearing at x time)
    * Overlays - Display clickable messages during your video at any time.
    * Video split testing with tracking. Automatically track and serve your most effective videos.
    * New "dashboard" with overall stats and financial tracking.
    * New Skins for video player and new attention grabbing embeddable buy now buttons.
    * All the features from other versions of EVP, recoded and included inside EVP2
    * Plus more.. (Not all info is released yet, we are not even in prelaunch!)

    NOTE TO FREEBIE SEEKERS:

I had someone message me telling me they were going to write negative comments unless they got EVP2 for free..

I can catagorically say here.. you can ignore the great work and heart and soul I have put into these products and the generousity I have shown my customers if you want. You can try to be negative just to try to force me into giving you a free copy of EVP2..

IT WONT WORK.. If this describes you, please dont buy EVP2, please dont buy any of my products. I dont want people who will throw hard work, dedication to my customers and genuine effort to over deliver and be cool to people back in my face just because they feel like trying to threaten me into giving them a free copy of my new product.

It aint gonna happen.. Dream on, you have a free upgrade coming, enjoy it. (I am sure you will find a way to complain about the hours and effort we spent lovingly creating this free upgrade for you)

mmaeb - EVP2 is the only version of EVP that has the commercial license option. More will be revealed about this when we actually go into launch mode, the product isn't even in prelaunch yet. Thanks for your questions.

I can see were the confusion was. I should have read the previous posts more carefully. Naming the new software with the same name as the old one leaded to the idea of being the same software instead of two separate ones.

It is true that you explained in your previous posts. Too long posts that I didn't read in full - and it may be what happened to others here in the forum - until I was trying to understand why you were answering the way you did.

Anyway, it is clear now. Good luck with your launch

I thought we were supposed to get the discount link today. Am I right? Just checking. Also, I don't know what's going on. Many people report they can't hear the sound on my videos. Many others can. Not sure what the problem might be. Does EVP2 address that? Does it integrated html5? The same people that can't hear sound on my videos go to youtube and hear just fine.

The email is going out at the start of prelaunch.. (tomorrow) There are details inside the members area now however if you log in.

Your sound issue will be nothing to do with EVP. EVP works just fine to play the audio in videos.

Your problem will DEFINITELY be to do with the video format (codec) you are using for your video files.

The Youtube videos works because they auto encode all videos on their site to their own specific system.

There are help videos inside the members area that show you EXACTLY how to best convert your videos (Easily and for free) for web use. (and solve this issue easily)

Many video formats are simply not best suited for using online because of the way browser loads video etc.
You need to familiarise yourself with the best way to convert videos when using video online.

Our free help videos show all our customers how and our support team are always there to help initially too.. (Inside EVP2, the help video is actually inside the software itself, to make it even more obvious)

As for HTML5, as I have mentioned a few times in this thread, EVP1.5 (free upgrade for current customers) and also EVP2 BOTH have full HTML5 and mobile device support.

I'm not an EVP user but I have been in the software business for over 30 years and my opinion is that you are going to have a lot of mad customers here and that will ruin your reputation that you have worked so hard to build.

You released v1 of a product with a promise of free lifetime updates, then you release v2 and claim that your promise does not apply. Then you justify it here by claiming that you are using industry norms since Microsoft, et al, charges for upgrades.

I never heard of Microsoft promising free upgrades.

If you call it the same name and just add v2, then it is an upgrade. That is industry norm. You promised free upgrades, so you should give it to your existing customers for free.

I don't have a dog in this fight, since I don't use this or any other video software, but I think you are making a big mistake and you should either rethink your policy or rename your product.

The resistance you see here is only the beginning of a long road.

Josh, I think the EVP is a good product. I don't mind paying a small upgrade fee but I will hold judgement to see what that fee is. I agree with the above post that you may not realize the sh1tstorm you may be in for when v1 users will be asked to pay. Risky business IMHO. Perception is reality.

BTW, I always get your promotional emails, but somehow I have NEVER rec'd any email about an upgrade for 1.5. Can you explain how customers can get update notices while avoiding your affiliate promotions? Your URL for 1.0 is already switched to 2.0 promotions, so how do we get the updates or fixes that have been going on?

EDIT: Ok I logged in to my EVP, then it says to log in to some mastermind thing for the 1.5 fixes, which I have just found out about. I did that, but inside the MM, each page is about EVP2.0 - I cannot find the file or process to to upgrade my v1.0 to v1.5.!!

The download for the latest version is on your right hand side bar on each page.
Also, if you simply scroll down past the current message about EVP2 all your usual content is there.

EVP1.5 is not out yet, as mentioned numerous times in this thread, its an entirely free upgrade created just for EVP1.x users that will be rolled out in the coming weeks. The latest version that is currently available with all upgrades so far is available for download in the members area.

As for the email system, I am working on this from EVP2 onwards to improve the system.. I want to be able to offer customers the option to "opt down" to not receive anything software messages if they want. (A lot of people want to get more than just that, so we are looking to offer both options to keep everyone happy)

We also have a notification system built into EVP2 (non obtrusive) so that we can let customers know there about latest versions directly inside EVP2. (better deliverability than email and higher "open rate" to make sure customers know about new stuff)

As for all the other comments, I have already commented at length. If someone in the software industry have not heard of 1password, things, any microsoft product, adobe or any other software product I can think of doing this, they are clearly mistaken. They ALL offer free upgrades for the life on the current version and then eventually roll out a new one and give a nice discount for existing members. (If anyone wants to misquote me as saying free upgrades for life on all versions forever, then they simply are saying something I never stated)

People need to remember, they are STILL GETTING FREE UPGRADES ON EVP1.x they just dont get EVP2 for free as WELL.

Its very simple, easy to understand and the VAST majority of customer contact we are getting are simply thanking us for our hard work and giving the opportunity of a cool discount on EVP2..

I think the confusion is stemming from the fact that on EVERY page we are greeted with the 2.0 sales pitch, which takes up several browser lengths. I did click on the link you said and it just kept refreshing the promotion. Now the image down below the page promotion says Easy Video Player Pro, The birth of Video Marketing 2.0. The 2.0 happens to coincide with the never-ending promotions, so can you see why someone might think that IS the 2.0 version we are downloading and will be asked to pay for? Please clarify that that is the latest update version for v1.

Also, from what I remember the initial installation wasn't the easiest thing in the world so where are the instructions as to how to update from v1 to v1.1+ ? And what is the process in saving the current files so that they remain in place - or do we have to reload ALL videos again?

A complete separation of the two products (if 2.0 in fact is not an upgrade) and their service channels would be much less confusing and you probably would not have to keep trying to compare your video player to Microsoft and Adobe product releases. Would make it easier to push this product. Just a thought.

There is an upgrade video in the members area, I was looking at it today, it talks/walks you through which files to back up and which to install and overwrite.

I'ts a very good product and lets be honest here, there are a lot of marketers out there who wouldnt produce the upgrades in vers 1.5 which he has; especially when bringing out a new product/version, in fact with some of the garbage recently released its a breath of fresh air, and he should be congratulated for that, not castigated.

now I'm aware of the exact differences; I have not got an issue at all,

I will happily say; I paid for the upgrade today.

Thanks a lot for the kind words

OK Josh I have read all the above. I will keep this short and to the point. I am VERY disappointed in the way this is being handled by you. You have lost my trust.

I can name dozens of companies I have bought off ...for the "one off price" who will give updates FOR LIFE...yep whatever they add, even a redesign from the ground up...Market Samurai, Keyword Rockstar, to name just 2 I have bought. You probably own MS yourself...and they won't be promising (as you have in your build up emails) to your loyal customers that EVP 2 is coming and its awesome...then at the last moment discover we got to pay for it...very clever bait and switch. So this is brand new software then...but its got 1. The same name. 2. The same aim. 3. The same logo 3. The same path of "upgrade" from V.1
You have added very nice features to the product BUT the root of the eventual results is the same...to get a video up and running fast on to a webpage.

I just received the MASSIVE discount offer to v.1 customers $50 off the non branded ... Commercial Version @$147... Are you kidding me? I could get more off it going through my friends Affiliate link.

And Finally sorry, but I had to laugh out loud when you said you have provided this software only to help us, your customers...So you don't run your business for profit? The High income figures you are aiming at in your "open and honest" videos to your list is just for laughs?

Please...I am adult not a child and have been successful in running 4 businesses since 1986 and so I can see right through the smokescreen of your defence of the lengthy replies in this thread.

The truth is you are pulling the wool over our eyes, I am surprised by you and its another sad day in the IM world when integrity is lost for the sake of greedy extra profits.

Suffice to say I WILL NOT be giving you the pleasure of more money out of my pocket, even if your software is "THE" best release of 2010.

PS well done for those who just bought V1...you get a free upgrade but Josh's loyal supporters will get nothing.
    ...that extremely fair isn't it?

I dont have anything to say to this or to add to what I have already said..

Since I told my list about this, I have to date had over 200 emails (yes 200) from existing customers thanking me for:

    1) Providing them with the best product they have bought in the industry

    2) Providing them with the best service they have had in the industry to back it up

    3) Providing them with 12 FREE upgrades (just as I promised and continue to do so)

    4) Providing them with the new free upgrade just around the corner that gives full iPad and iPhone support.

    5) Providing them with a generous discount. EVP2 is more powerful than any other product on the market. Any competition is either many many times more or monthly fee. Thats a fact. We charge the lowest and provide the best. Then we basically half it for existing customers. (Most of whom are emailing me saying thank you)

Obviously, me providing some of the best value ever seen in a software product in this industry (NOT my words) and some of the best support (NOT my words) and then providing all the above is obviously not good enough...

As for your other comments, they are simply either completely inaccurate or untrue...

ie. (the same logo, no its completely different actually) or having the same aim with a product? So that means if a product has the same aim it CANT be ever charged for ever again?

And, I am not trying to hide that its a new version of a product.. Would it be better if I repacked it, changed the name and tried to get people to buy again just out of confusion? NO..

I kept things clear for everyone, kept existing customers well looked after with new cool features.. but hey.. I am sure you will find a way to look at that as a negative too.

We work full time, sometimes seven days a week, I have a full time team who I employ and who have sat with me up late into the night ALL of this year working on FREE upgrades for our customers.

We have not charged our customers a single cent all year and the original product sold well enough to be a great success. I could of left it exactly as it was and it would of sold well. I would of saved money and time, but instead, because its my passion and I love to over deliver I spent HUGE amounts of time just working on cool new features for the hell of it.

But hey, that counts for nothing right?

Its great to pick one or two products from quite new companies and say, hey they have never charged for an upgrade and ignore ALL the other companies in the world who do.

1Password, Screenflow, Camtasia, Photoshop, Office, Parallels, WishListMember, yup all exactly the same, except most dont give new features in their free upgrades, especially as many as I do.

Thats not to point out that you miss one of the most important facts completely!! Its NOT a required or critical update that is needed.. EVP1 still works perfectly, and not only that, you cant even argue that we are just leaving it behind seeing as we are just about to release a WHOLE NEW upgrade for EVP1.. EVP2 is an OPTIONAL update, there is no forcing of customers to select something just to make cash, we give an option.. If they want EVP2, then hey, we can give them a great offer, if not.. great, we will look after them and give them freebies like always.

You also mention, 'the high income figures you are aiming at in your open and honest videos"
I have no idea who you confuse me with, I dont do videos about high income figures or aims..You must be thinking of someone else.

And your argument about the root of the product being the same, I don't even have to dignify that.. ALL software does that, but hey.. Perhaps I should just work for free, full time just to make you cool new stuff?

'Your point about using a friends clickbank ID to break the rules of clickbank and defraud the vendor? OK, well sure, I guess you could do that and perhaps cheat your way out of a little extra cash.. But I dont think its me who needs to worry about my morals..

In an industry full of people selling information products based on false claims, false screenshots and filled with information that simply doesn't work, targeting me as someone who is a "bad guy" is simply crazy..

Nearly all of my customers think differently.

You almost seem to have forgotten the most important point, (that you also quoted incorrectly)

To date, I have sent 2 emails offering the upgrade offer to existing customers. I sent one promotional email out about it before that time.

Hardly, hammering my customers just to try and get extra profits is it?

And for the record, I have said many times.. (I will state it CLEARLY again)

I AM NOT TRYING TO FORCE EXISTING CUSTOMERS TO BUY EVP2. I HAVE FLAT OUT TOLD PEOPLE IN THIS THREAD NOT TO UNLESS THEY REALLY WANT IT. I HAVE TOLD THEM THAT EVP1 HAS A NEW FREE UPGRADE JUST FOR THEM, JUST AROUND THE CORNER.

But hey, I guess you class that as trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes and trying to just maximise my profits.

its a shame when so many bad people are in this industry, you obviously decide to take your frustrations out on one of the good guys without even bothering to check the facts, make accurate claims or look at the actual situation.

At the end of the day, I have hundreds if not thousands of positive testimonials and customers for every customers who complains. (And I am still getting them as we speak)

I have learnt one thing, there are always a small minority of people who complain. When you try your hardest for them, they turn around and complain anyway.. When you over deliver, they complain..

I cant change your mind for you, and you are right,.. It is genuinely a sad day in the IM industry when it gets to the point that all the people I actually hate with a passion that rip people off and sell empty products can bring people down so low and aggrivate the industry so much that the good guys end up being the targets.

The reason I post replies here is because I am passionate and genuinely care.

You dont want to spend your $70 odd bucks on the new version of the best software in the niche? (One thats cheaper than all others, which doesnt gel with the money grabbing image you try to portray when you dont even know me)

Fine, dont buy it, I never asked you to.. Just enjoy my hard work with the next free upgrade I am sure you will make great use out of..

    Hey, you cant please everyone.

And for the record, yes, offering a new version to someone who just bought for free rather than charging them, that is fair.. you saying it is NOT fair shows how inaccurate some of your statements are. I bought the password software called 1password a while back, just over a month later they told me a new version was out and charged me for it. I bought it. Thats pretty standard.. But I didnt do that, I wanted to be fair, to go the extra mile for people and to do the right thing.. actually, and certainly it doesn't gel with your money grabbing image you are painting does it..

But, you find a way to just attack that too, hey why not?

and "Josh's loyal supporters" apparently get nothing? If you want to class 13 free major, feature packed upgrades and improvements to an already industry leading product, as well as a near 50% discount on a new version of that product nothing?

Go ahead, but I wont be arguing with you anymore, obviously logic doesn't apply.

Oh and, thousands of my customers dont agree with you, they think they have had plenty and thats what I care about.

      Hey,

Just wanted to put a good word in for Josh...

I'm not an EVP customer (yet) but am familiar with Josh's work, and he IS one of the good guys. I've been around for years online (with sites that have made millions), and know the good eggs from the bad, purely based on experience.

Some of the whiners in this thread are the 'last stop' in terms of the ULTIMATE proof that you can't please everybody. No matter what you do, there will always be whiners. And whiners are rarely winners. They're the people *not* making money online because they're too busy trying to pick apart other peoples' OBVIOUS extreme hard work and dedication to satisfying their customers and producing platinum quality products...

      EXACTLY as Josh does.

And you know what? Even the kind of personal support he's providing *here* in this very thread is worth the asking price for his new product. It's clear to see what kind of guy he is, and yet the whiners are too blind to see it because they're too worried about the fact that he's in a *for profit* business (like the rest of us), making legitimate money on an off-the-charts awesome product.

      Rock on Josh.

        Hi Bryan

Interesting post that offers an opinion without the proper evidence to support the rant.

As you are not a customer of Joshes you will not have had the tirade of emails he has sent to EXISTING customers trying to sell EVP2 at a price that quite frankly could probably be obtained cheaper via an affiliate purchase.

However the price is not the problem like yourself I have done very well on the internet, although I cannot claim to have made MILLIONS, but more than enough to not have to work for the man.

The problem is how the process of dealing with the new product has been handled. I am more than happy with Joshes previous offering and the support from his team has always been excellent. So I would expect the same from his new product BUT I do not sell the way he does and I still make very good money.

Yes we are all in this game to make money and the way we do it will either appeal or alienate your customers. The hard sell really turns me off and that is my thoughts but I do not knock Josh personally as an individual just his tactics.

If you are in business you have to accept criticism and compliments from all quarters that is the way it works. If there was no dissent on the tactics used here then this would not be a topic of discussion.

The so called whiners you mention are all offering their own opinions as current customers and they have been suitably aired and Josh has responded.

    Josh:
You have answered all the naysayers time and time again. I love EVP and the deal you offer for the NEW software is more than fair.
    Move on.
You provide great value and what you are doing for V1 is above and beyond the call of duty. If anything, the negative stuff makes me want V2 even more. Again I say...
    Move on.
You have more important stuff to do and I would rather you think on the things that make your products great instead of the negative stuff. Any point that has been brought up, you answered fairly honestly.
If they don't want it, they don't have to buy it.
    Move on.

Thanks for your integrity and great products and service!

So why go into a quasi psychology "defence" rant?

I have not mistaken you in my quotes, I get all your emails and "I am a Good Guy" aweber broadcasts, JV invites, etc.

You and I know this is a HUGE money making promotion.

      Period.

Believe me as a professional marketer, I am on both sides of the fence with both consumer and affiliate and I stand by what I say AND represent hundreds of people who are too scared to challenge you for the fee "upgrade" for V2.

I believe the tide is turning for all those blind to their own greed and places like the "Salty Droid" will only grow.

And no I don't want to talk privately to you so please do not send any more PM's ...If you got something to say then say in in the Public domain please.

Finally, although you might not think so I believe in your product 100% and this has never been the issue, it's the way you have promoted this "upgrade" that has pissed me and hundreds off.

        Psh.

Josh, ignore these people and do what you do. I gladly owned evp v1 and immediately purchased v2 upgrade.

I would have even paid full price for it, had that been the only option.

Your service has always been outstanding and I've always been impressed with EVP.

People want stuff for free, that's all it comes down to.

Their own worldview on what is "right and wrong". I don't see anything wrong with what you are doing, and I know there are hundreds, maybe thousands who love evp and the ease it brought to our businesses. The features you have added to v2 need to be rewarded by more money, in my opinion, so you can continue to develop more products.

This is from someone who is ALSO successful.

So ignore the bitchfests that go on here, don't worry about arguing, and put out your product.

Hopefully your launch goes well beyond 6 figures.

        Rob

P.S. No, I'm not an affiliate, not promoting his product and have no real interest except the fact that I own and love EVP and look forward to getting my hands on EVP2

    Hi Josh,
    i got two questions,

"This Commercial version gives you the ability to remove ALL branding from all of your videos and video players. It also gives you a commercial license so that you are officially entitled to use EVP2 for client videos as well as your own."

Does this mean that the videos embeded using the standard version has a "powered by easy video player 2" branding?

If i purchase evp 2 can i rebrand the video with "powered by mywebsite.com" ?

Though i appreciate the discount you offer to your exisiting customers, i don't quite understand why you had to put a timelimit to it and are urging us to update quick - without stating until what date your "offer" is valid.

Perhaps putting urgency into what should be an act of gratitude for previous customers is an example for your understanding of being a "good guy" (as opposed to someone relying heavily on the use of psychlogical copywriting tricks on people)?

May i suggest you give your exisiting customers time to evalutate the announced update to release 1.5 of EVP first - before deciding if we need / want EVP 2?

Regarding the discount itself, well it's better than nothing, but of course as ArchitectofTruth has rightly pointed out, your exisitng customers might be better off buying from an affiliate link - which might also bring a nice bonus to the table ...

In the last 2 to 3 days I have been bombarded with emails from you push push pushing the new EVP 2. As you know I am a current customer having purchased EVP 1. I also mentioned earlier in this thread about PERCEPTIONS being key to retaining good faith with your customers.

I know I can unsubscribe but then I may miss out on that email that tells me of forthcoming updates to EVP1.

I do not know where the tactics of punching out these pushy brazen time limited emails to existing customers were learned - its so in your face I can see the mark left from where you smacked me.

If success is measured by excess then I guess we are seeing it from all of you guys with the big launches.

I am afraid it leaves me cold - but hey there are many who love being sold to like this and if the product is good then at least that is a some consolation.

    Hello Josh and Matt.
I'm really considering to buy EVP 2.0.

    2 questions please:
    - Are you going to give an early bird discount october the 19th before you open to the general public?
    - Or are you going to make a WSO here on the WarriorForum like you did for the evp1?

    That would be cool!

    Thank you.

I saw all these new posts and I thought there were some cool updates not all this complaining. A few of you guys are violating rule #1 of this forum. If you have a problem with Josh take up with him privately not here. He's been called "greedy" and accused of "pulling the wool over customers eyes" that is getting personal and uncalled for and I've reported those posts.

This isn't even the "review" forum it's the JV partnership forum!

As an EVP 1.0 customer, I honestly don't remember the lifetime guarantee but have you seen all the new features (split video testing, video page creator, Facebook/Twitter integration, etc.)? This is a major upgrade. I honestly don't see how you could expect to get it for free. Maybe it was a mistake in Josh's guarantee verbiage but to try beat him over the head with it seems a bit shoddy to me. Even if other IM software makers might do that. It's his business.

Video screencast is a major part of my business. When Screenflow added new features earlier this year like export to youtube and other goodies it wasn't free. I already know Screenflow rocks and I've made a lot of money using their software so no problem paying an upgrade fee.

I was already looking at other software to do a few things EVP 1.0 doesn't do but now EVP 2.0 does do. I Know EVP is a great software so I have no problem paying for the upgrade.

I'll make the upgrade fee back right quick by using the software anyway. I've created video courses using EVP 1.0 that have made me money. I've created pre-sell videos for products that I promote using EVP 1.0 that have made me money. And I've even made money promoting EVP 1.0 so I have no problem paying a fellow Warrior another $50-$100 for an upgrade fee. Good Lordy, people.

I could understand a beef if you bought a couple weeks ago and he's making you pay for the upgrade but that's not even the case (although Josh, I agree with Brian.... too many emails dude - :p ).

And dollars to donuts, had Josh released EVP 2.0 as "Social Media Video Page Creator Annihilator" people would be bitching that he just changed the name to charge more money for an upgraded EVP so it's a no-win for him from the naysayers.

Now I'm going to go pay for my upgrade. Wait for EVP 2.0 to drop and go make some freaking money (seems to be a dirty word now).

Ubman, It is hosted on your own server. It doesn't edit the videos for you. What the original version of EVP did was allow you to host your videos easily on Amazon and at the end of the video it would allow you to enter in HTML so you could use a Paypal button or an optin form at the end.

The new version is slightly more sophisticated and allows for html anywhere within the video and creates sales pages etc.

If you don't have a computer capable of Video Editing EVP will still be useful if you want to host videos that you have bought as part of a PLR package for example, and as they are hosted on Amazon the bandwidth charges are pretty slim.

For the full features of EVP 2 and they are considerable you need to look at the EVP sales page.

    Hi Josh,

I am a EVP 1.0 customer and I am considering upgrading to 2.0. Could you show me what the "watermark" looks like? Is it intrusive?

Also, is the only way to remove the watermark to buy the commercial license? I believe I would like to remove the watermark from my videos, but I will not be doing any work for clients. So for the upgrade of $70, I would lose out on the upgrade value.

    Thanks and take care,
    Allan
