How to build a list with giveaway events for a first timer?

Hi follow warriors,

I'v just participate a giveaway event and it is running right now!
(don't worry, I'm not trying to promote that event in this thread )

Now, I thought when people click on the download icon of each of the gift will lead to a squeeze page where the leads r captured.

however, I'v just clicked those icons and it lead me straight to download page without any opt-in required.

Is it how the giveaway events run?

If yes, in wut way u can build ur lists from giveaway events?

It might seems quite a basic question for u guys, but I will be appreciate if u guys can spend a few minute to share your valuable knowledge~!

    Adjust settings in your autoresponder account to lead to capture page and send download link to inbox after confirmation of email.

      If you are a paid member in a giveaway event and you click on one of the download gift links it will take you straight to the download page with no optin.
      If you are a free member of the giveaway event and you click on download gift you would have to optin before you get the download link.
