Programmer looking for Marketing Partner

Hello!

BEFORE you see my post count and leave - I just purchased access to the war room, to show that I am serious about this.

I am an experienced programmer (15+ years), looking to get out of the "daily grind", so to speak. I'm looking for a marketing partner who is good at coming up with ideas for new websites/software, preferably ones with residual income.

The ideal partner would have a natural talent for identifying needs in the community which we could fill with innovative solutions, and capable of writing effective sales pages and creating videos to accompany them. As an experienced programmer, I am capable of quickly breaking an idea down into possible ways it could be accomplished, and suggesting value add features, to further entice potential clients.

If you feel that you are a good match, I would suggest starting things off by giving examples of things you have worked on in the past, and providing a list of your areas of interest/focus.

I'd be more inclined to consider someone who would give a suggestion on a smaller initial project which we could BOTH use to asses each other, in an attempt to determine how well we fit together. I am more than willing to sign an NDA before receiving these suggestions if you are worried about it being stolen, however I don't see the point of stealing a single small idea when we could build a relationship to create many in the future!

I'd recommend contacting through private messages, to keep things confidential.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
C.J. Manca

    • PM Sent Klaaz.

One of the things I have been asked a couple of times in PM now was my language experinece/specialization, which seems to be good information for the general thread.

The last few years have mostly been php/mysql for web based, and C#/WinForms (.net) for applications, although there is very little I haven't at least touched on at some point. I've done C/C++ (MFC/opengl/directx), perl/asp/java/flash, and a host of other languages at one point or another. Switching between languages tends to be easy once you know one or two... the logic is the same, just need a different "dictionary"

Well this could be a great JV for both of us.

One thing I cannot do is program but I do have plenty of ideas most of which I have used to provide me with an income but I have many more of course.

I can write the sales copy for us and create guides and info to go with any softeware we come up with.

Let me know your thoughts here as I do not think you can pm yet

"15+ years" isn't exactly descriptive. Any serious marketer would want to know more about your skills before giving you their ideas or partnering.

Do you create window's based apps? Web based? What?

What is your experience with C#? PHP? QT?

Have you created anything marketing or B2B related before?

  • James: You are quite right, I was fairly brief in my original message, but didn't want to create a "wall of text".

I'm not sure if you saw my reply a couple of posts down by I mentioned a few languages anyway. Most of my past experience has been websites (mostly php/mysql recently, however I have done asp.net and jsp when requested), and all the things that go with them (xhtml, flash, java, javascript/ajax).

I have also done several windows based business applications and personal projects. From small ones utilizing an access backend to larger client/server models with audit trails and access control.

This will be my first time writing things specifically for marketers, but by and large, I doubt it will be all that much different from many business tools, which usually already require graphs, parsing of large amounts of data, reliability and user friendliness. I am acquainted with several WSO tools through a long term client of mine who uses the warriors forums quite regularly, and often asks my advice about the various WSOs he sees.

I probably didn't time this very well, as I'm about to head out for Easter with the family, so it may be a couple of days before I can reply again.
