Hi all -

I've never done a JV, but I'm planning one in a few weeks. I'm trying to make sure I don't make any stupid mistakes.

From your experience, what is the most important thing that makes a JV deal successful?

Looking forward to the feedback.

- Kyle

    Communication. By far.

Whoever you're JVing with, you need to have a good relationship with good communication. Just like any other relationship, without good communication, you have nothing. Be sure to keep each other involved and up to date on any current promotions and results.

That's good feedback. It's sometimes hard to keep up communication when things start rolling fast.

    Indeed, communication is important.

Moreover, it needs to be with someone you can trust. Don't be afraid to do your homework on someone. Look around and make sure they aren't stealing others' material for their sales pages and such. It might not be yours, but if they'll do it to someone else, they may do it to you as well.

Trust is hard to come by in this business, and it's important to be able to trust that the person is going to be honest with you.
