I want TO BE YOUR FRIEND, then let's JV

Hi Warriors,

I am not a marketer, just a software engineer.

Some weeks ago I launched one of my software products for the IM/MMO niches, because I think that it can be extremely useful for people trying to make money online. Since then I have been trying to find people with lists in these niches to make a JV in order to promote my product to their subscribers.

My product is not directly related to the IM/MMO world, but I think that it can be like fresh air offering to subscribers in these niches something useful and different to most offers they receive daily.

I have failed miserably. I sent my proposal almost to all known gurus in this industry: Rich, Mike, Chris, Jeremy, Ken, Rosalind, Willie and many more.

You know what? Most of them did not answer my email. Being afraid of having problems with spam folders, I resent the message using another email account. I only got a few responses to my offer, all negative. And none of the responses was sent by the guru, but by someone from their staff.

Then I created a couple of threads in this Joint Venture area of the WF. Dozens of views, zero answers.

I then thought, well, my product is good, even if it is not an IM product, how in the world can it be possible that NONE of the persons I contacted decided to give my offer a try?

I was really disappointed. I was in big despair.

Until I found a blog post where a known IM blogger explained the dos and don'ts to succeed with JV's.

I read the post avidly and I finally learnt the biggest secret to make a successful JV. No matter how good or relevant your product is. If you do not have this ingredient in your recipe, you are out. This is the secret weapon for JV's:

"In order to be remotely considered for a JV, you must be a FRIEND of your future JV partner"

After carefully meditating about this idea, I finally understood the concept and my eyes went wide open. Then I decided what would be my next move. I would make a ton of friends in the IM industry.

So, I WANT TO BE YOUR FRIEND.

This is my profile:

Name: Manuel Sebares
Profession: Software Engineer
Location: Sunny Canary Islands, Spain
Website: MSD Soft: powerful and easy to use organizer software for Windows, free to download and free to try
Purpose: Making money to feed my two children.
Skills: looking downwards, toward the keyboard, and typing, typing and more code typing (big mistake, I guess)
Handsome: my mother used to say so
Honest: yesssssssssssss
Smart: mmmmmmmm......
Marketing: what is it?
Sense of humor: yeah

The bottom line: if you WANT TO BE MY FRIEND, just write a post here and I will PM you the details of my JV offer for the IM/MMO niches.

Anyway, if you have reached this point, thanks for reading and have a great day

Regards
#friend #joint venture

So you want to be friends with people just so you can get them to promote for you down the line?

    That's not a friendship. That's a manipulation.

I have a lot of friends in the IM world, and yes many of them do promote my products and services.... but promoting me isn't a condition to my friendship!

In fact, I help them, give advice, make connections, and do everything I can for them WITHOUT any expectation that they'll do anything for me in the future. That's friendship.

Hi James, I am sure your intention with your comment is good, but I am afraid that you did not get the "intention" of my post. Maybe the fact that English is not my native language has something to do with it, but my post is "ironical".

I agree with you that asking for friendship only to get a benefit is a manipulation.

Perhaps if you read my post again and have a look at my product (not IM related), and take into consideration that I am thousands of miles away of the Marketing world, you will understand better why I have written that post.

Anyway, thanks for your comment. And maybe in the future we could do business together, even without being friends

      Regards

Well you don't necesarily need to be friends with a JV before.

I have emailed a lot of the heavy hitters before, mentioned on your list and some others, and I got responses from about a third of them directly. And 3 of them were interested in promoting my product. I say that is a pretty good success rate. It is just how you go about it that counts.

Hi Travis, I congratulate you for your success.

In my post I regret the fact that some "gurus" did not wasted an email to say no. On the other hand I am sure they receive thousands of requests and they have developed a sixth sense for winners and drop losers without an answer.

With respect to "what counts" I am sure that if I would promote the best "make money thing" I would get better results with JV's, but I am promoting an organizer software, that really helps to get organized, but this software does not make money. It saves time and headaches, but does not make money directly.

Anyway, thanks for your comment. I wish you good luck in future promotions
