Rules for the JV section - Updated 12/21

REMINDER: This forum is not for selling ads. Ad swaps are fine, that's a joint venture. Directly selling ads is not.

Rules for the JV Section

Okay. A few people seem determined to play games with multiple accounts and re-posting deleted threads. On top of that, the rules in this section have been systematically ignored for a long time. So, from now on, threads in the JV section will need to be approved before becoming visible to the members.

Do not PM any of the moderators or go to the help desk asking when/if a thread will be approved, or why it wasn't. The rules are simple, and posted.

Note that approving a post does not mean that the forum or any of its moderators endorses the offer. It only means that the moderator who approved it wasn't aware of any reason not to do so when it was looked at initially.

You still need to use your own good sense. It's your time and resources you're investing. Choose wisely.

Note: We will not be approving posts from people who sign up and start looking for JVs without some track record of useful participation in the forum. If you don't have at least 50 posts, I won't even read the offer.

This is a "let's work together" section. Not a "way around the paid ads" section. The general definition of JV that we're using here is this:

Any partnership where two or more people bring various resources together to complete something none of them could - or perhaps want to - do on their own. They share in the effort/investment and in the profits.

Working together with others can help you get where you want to be much more quickly. But, as with any open system like this, some folks have abused that intent. So, we have some restrictions.

Update 12/21/2012: JV Giveaway events should be kept to this thread only. Please read the first post for current rules for that thread.

Offers that do not belong in this section:

Blind ads: If you can't say more substantive than "You'll make a bunch of money. PM me for details," you don't need to post it here. Or anywhere else on this forum.

Affiliate or MLM recruiting: Those go in the Affiliate Program Database

Ads looking for investments or loans: Way too many of these have been pure scams. For further info on that issue, read this post.

Ads that offer to teach you a system, and require that you spend X amount on paid traffic. Sounds reasonable, but those have typically included some rather nasty 'gotchas.'

Ads asking others to sell your products or run your ads through their account(s). Any type of account, including, but not limited to, eBay, Craigslist, AdWords/AdSense, CPA or PPC networks, and Flippa.

Selling anything, including solo ads.

Update 10/18/2012: Ad swaps are fine. Trading actual lists, or buying and selling email lists, is forbidden here. If we catch you doing it, you will be removed.

Update 7/1/2014: This includes selling leads, whether on a per lead or commission basis. A lot of people seem to think calling a sale a joint venture is a way to get around the rules.

This is also not the place to hire commissioned salespeople.

Any post violating these rules, or that just seems hinky, will be deleted. Re-posting deleted ads will get you, at the very least, a temporary ban.

    Miscellaneous notes:

Never pay anyone for anything in business through Paypal's Gift option. If you do, you immediately lose any and all protection you may have had through Paypal. You may also lose the tax deduction for the purchase, but you need to check with your accountant to be sure about that.

I would like to post about a survey that I am conducting for the online portal that we are about to launch (we are into SEO Resellership). The survey is basically about designs and functionalities that an internet marketer would like to have. Is that kind of post okay to be placed here?

    Thanks!

Nope. I'm not really sure that would be allowed anywhere in this forum, except maybe a classified ad. And that probably wouldn't give you accurate or useful results.

The problem is, that sort of product research always comes across as pre-promotion, and turns into salesy discussions. We've had waaay too many people in the past use those as ways to sneak ads into the discussion areas, and it will start up again if we allow it.

It sucks, but it's the nature of the beast.

        Paul,

Thanks for the update on the JV rules.

I want to double check something on the rules.

"Cannot Sell anything" - And "Lets work together" are two phrases you used.

Clarification: I provide Custom App's, Mobile Apps, Web Development and Video production on super affordable scales.

Scenario: I post about looking for others who want to utilize what we provide as an up sell at whatever rate they want then we bill them etc.
Example: I charge $20-40 for a single Facebook app. They charge $150. I bill them. They bill customer.

Is this legitimate for JV since its "lets work together" or not due to me selling something?

        I appreciate your clarification!

That's a pretty commonly offered scenario in this section. It's clearly not an affiliate offer, since the reseller sets the price.

(Hmmm. Reseller isn't even the right word, since it's a different product each time.)

You would be acting as a supplier, not a partner. So, I think the classifieds or "Warriors for Hire" section would be more appropriate for that one.

            Hey Paul,

I've been a member of the forum for a very long time but I usually don't make any posts. At the time I think I have a total of 5 or 6.

I have a great idea for a product that I would like to launch here but I don't have the skills necessary to pull it off by myself.

I know I can't start a new thread with so few posts. But I was wondering if I could talk about my idea if there's a post where someone happens to be looking for ideas?

            Thanks.

That kind of discussion probably won't happen in this section.

My advice: Participate a bit in the discussion sections. It doesn't take that much time, if you do it in a useful way. A couple of posts a day answering questions or helping out, and pretty quick, you're there.

      Hi Paul,

A few days ago, I tried to start a new thread here, title: Free eBook Advertising: Joint Venture.

The thread never appeared (apparently, it wasn't approved), and I can't figure out why. In it, I offer to place warrior's publicity in my free ebooks, and then give them their own copy to distribute to whomever they wish.

Do you know why it wasn't approved? Thank you!

        David,

If you want to do that in the free ebook section, you could. As long as people can get a copy without signing up for anything.

That's not the kind of JV we're looking for in this section, though. It's too much like an affiliate play.

        Alejandro,

That wasn't approved because it's not a JV. It's a Facebook group to talk about JVs. Or, based on the impression I got, affiliate deals.

As a general statement, yes. That might change depending on the posted details, but I'd say most of the time that would be within the rules here. You're going to have to participate in the forum a bit more first, though. I wouldn't approve a JV offer from someone with 4 posts.

That's not a reflection on you or your skills. We don't know anything about either. Just a requirement to prevent or minimize certain problems that have cropped up here in the past, and to give people a better idea of who they might be dealing with.

A deal like you're talking about can turn into a great thing for everyone involved, or it can turn into a nightmare. You and the marketer who might work with you need to be very clear on what each is to bring to the table, who's responsible for what, and where the lines are drawn.

For example, if you're creating products, do you give up the copyright? If the partnership/mentorship ends, are you agreeing to not create similar products? How broad is the prohibition, if so? Will you provide ongoing support? Will you provide them with clearly commented source code, so they can take the work to someone else if you should be unable/unwilling to continue development?

How many hours will the trainer spend teaching you, and in what areas? What kind of access do you have to them and any relevant data?

You want to be sure you're approaching it with reasonable expectations, and that the person you propose to deal with is equally reasonable. If you can make it all work, it can be very profitable for both of you. If not, you can waste a lot of time and energy, and end up with big headaches.

    Hi Paul

I'm about to start offering some seo/website related services and need to find some JV's for a start, and plan on releasing a WSO or make a post in the services section in the longer run.

    Now the question is.
Can I post it here. Keeping in mind that I am looking for people who can send some leads and receive some affiliate revenue or ask for a direct payment for mailing to their lists etc, and a few other things. Basically, it's not about affiliate only and offers benefit for both partners and no one will have to invest anything.

So is that a kind of thing that gets accepted here?

Also, I am relatively new to the forum as a member but have been a passive reader for a long time. Do I have to contribute more to the forum before posting here? Specially when the Jv I'm to post about is based on pure honest/quality services and there is something for both parties involved and no one has to invest anything upfront?

    Thanks

      Phantom,

That's an affiliate deal. Those go in the affiliate database.

As far as participation levels, I haven't formed any hard and fast post requirements for this section yet, but they'll definitely be a lot higher than 9.

Stating absolute numbers would create a whole other issue. Not a huge one, but one that would keep popping up. If I said, just for example, that you needed 50 posts to play in this particular sandbox, what would happen?

Some people would go about things as normal and come back when they'd reached that limit, if they still wanted to make the offer. Some would go on a posting spree, adding a lot of comments quickly, just to get to the "magic number."

That defeats the spirit of the rule, and also carries some "technical" challenges. What if the offer is approved and then someone notices that most of those were one-liners and deletes them? That's happened quite often in the past with other areas with specific post requirements, so it's not just a "what if." It's a "when it happens" sort of thing.

The paid ad sections have much more clear-cut rules. They're also usually more limited in the amount of risk and resources than many JVs involve.

Not anything more than be helpful (including asking useful questions), and don't worry about the numbers.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, you won't get a post approved in this section without some track record of meaningful participation in the discussion sections.

This is no reflection on new members. Just a way to cut down on some of the problem children who played distinctly not nice games in this part of the forum in the past. It also helps the people considering your offer to get at least some idea of who they'd be dealing with.

I did a jv from here and gave the guy money via paypal - $300.

He said he'd train me, give me a website, marketing guide.

He send me a little pdf about how to promote a website viz reddit. The guide didn't work, he still had the website in his own name and appealed it via paypal saying I didn't get what I paid for, he refused to give me a refund and paypal closed the dispute and I lost my money.

      Dr Boom,

Your post illustrates a couple of things to watch out for.

JVs are not training programs. That's the first one. If an offer is that far off topic for the section in which it's posted, you want to be careful. It could just be that the person is inexperienced. It could also be that they don't want to pay the forum for advertising, in order to reduce our ability to recognize them when they get banned and create new accounts.

Another is when someone wants you to put effort into a domain that's supposed to be yours, but is not registered in your name. That's not as clear an indicator of problems as someone wanting to cycle traffic through sites with your AdSense or CPA accounts and split the "profits," but it's a thing to be careful of.

I am more disappointed with paypal.

The guy obvious was a fraud. However I raised the dispute with paypal within the time frame. I have evidence of correspondence from the guy and what I received. Yet they simply closed the dispute, I thought I would be protected with paypal.

          Dr Boom,

The only way to deal with non-delivery of digital products if you use Paypal is to pay with a credit card. If the seller doesn't deliver, you can do a chargeback that way. That should always be a last resort, but it's at least some protection.

Paypal doesn't often side with the buyer in cases involving digital products. There's very little way to prove things either way in those cases, so their policy is that buyer protection doesn't apply.

A lot of people complain about that, but it's right there in the user agreement. If there was some way to be more sure of what happened, I'd wager they'd use it.

I can't finance the giveaway myself, but any sponsors would be getting traffic to their own url and exposure in return, so I wasn't sure if that was considered a joint venture or not.

    Zoritey,

That's an affiliate offer. The affiliate database is one good place. You would probably do better, at least with WSOs, to network with other WSO sellers and in some of the off-forum JV/WSO groups. Send a PM to E. Brian Rose (from JV Zoo) for an invite to his Facebook group. That could be a good start.

      Hey Paul,

Appreciate the way you sort out the queries that show up on this post.
I am Andrea Juliao and I handle the JV's for Putler( a sales analytical tool).
I wanted to put up a thread inviting JV partnerships for the same but there is a issue that says I need activation from the admin.
Could you help me with this?

      Thanks!

        Alice/Andrea/Andrew/Whatever it really is...

Please read the rules in the first post of this thread. You will find that your question is already answered. Along with an issue you appear not to have considered.

Additionally, I am told you have to be a War Room member to start a thread in this section. But, again, read the rules before spending money on it just for that. And be sure you're not using the term "JVs" to mean the same thing as "affiliates." If you are, the post will not be approved.

I just signed up and paid 37.00 dollars to access this particular section and I have just found out that you can't have a JV offer that requires an investment?

I would like a refund of my 37.00 dollars please. The absurdity of having a selection called Warrior Joint Ventures and not allowing adults to decide what is a good offer and what is not, speaks for itself.

I am sure getting a refund will be no problem , the only post I made was not allowed, due to your rule of not being allowed to have an investment in the JV offering, so I was not allowed to actually use this section, for the 3 hours I was a member .

      Hi Paul,

I posted a request for a JV partner for one of my products and it was not approved, and yet as far as I can see I followed all the rules. Its a 50/50 split JV where I develop and the JV partner markets.

I put in a ticket and got the response that I was looking for a partner and should not have posted there.

I am looking to JV with someone, simple as that, could you please check it out and see why it was deleted?

      Thanks, Joe

Are you now informed if your Thread has been approved or disapproved?
Nope. As a rule, I check this section at least once a day. If your thread doesn't appear within 24 hours, there's a good chance it won't.

Yours was too vague. You need to be specific in telling people what you're looking for, or it's going to be treated as an affiliate request.

    Hello Paul,

I've been reading the rules and examining the different sections of the forum and wanted to make sure if I'm in the right area or not.

I'm trying to find a partner for an exclusive deal managing sales for my product. Where should I post this? If this is the correct section is it necessary to go on to create a track record of posts and participation or is there a shortcut?

That really depends on the nature of the deal. If the "manager" is an actual partner, and is getting paid a percentage of the sales, it probably belongs here more than any other section of the forum. It's not really a JV, but it's close enough, as long as it really is an exclusive offer.

I mention that last caveat because a few people have tried to position affiliate recruiting deals using a similar description.

As far as a track record... There are no shortcuts. It's not a lot of work or time to get to levels that "qualify."

Note: We will not be approving posts from people who sign up and start looking for JVs without some track record of useful participation in the forum.

How often are we talking about? I only get on here in between work. I don't have hours a day to post on forums, i usually read them a little, and sometimes comment.

But i do have some legit JVs, but none ever show up? I imagine my 12 post history is setting me back?

Yep. When I look at the posts, the first thing I glance at is the person's post count. If it's really low, I don't even read the rest of the offer.

This section, like several others, is a free service offered to help out active members. It's not viewed, at least from the moderator side, as a free advertising section.

You could post it in the classifieds or "Looking to hire you" sections, but that wouldn't likely do you a lot of good. Not what people go there for. And it can't go in the WSO section unless it's Warriors only.

Hmmm. This is a common enough request. I need to figure out a way for folks to do this that doesn't fill this section with non-JV offers. Let me look around a bit and see what makes the best fit.

Update: Added a thread specifically for these offers. See http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ay-events.html

It might be a good idea to post a couple of examples of what WOULD constitute an "approved" JV, just so that people who don't have experience doing it can get some sort of idea.

Yes, but the number may change if it seems to be too high or too low. At the moment, far more offers are rejected based on not being JVs (or even close) than because of participation levels.

    Hi Paul:

I found warriorfourm.com while trying to get a person who is good in S.E.O. for my website as a partner (revenue sharing on a percentage basis.)
I joined up in hoping to finding someone.
I did post in the general discussion and was told that I actually need to post in the JV section.
I than asked what was the JV section and finally figured it out.
I have requested as a joint venture thread and it has not yet been put on.
It seems like the only rule that I am breaking is that I have not been on warriorfourm.com long enough.
However, this is the precise reason I joined to begin with.
Am I correect or is there another rule that I am breaking?

You don't have enough posts for this section, but that wouldn't matter. What you're looking to do is hire someone, not do a joint venture. If I were you, I'd look through the SEO offers and see if someone with good references looks like a proper fit.

Yes, I was referring to posts.

You were looking for an affiliate manager (often mislabeled "JV manager") for a single WSO. Those will almost always get deleted. Even if you'd had enough posts, that one wouldn't fit what we're talking about here as JVs.

For those folks who may be confused about some apparent discrepancies, note that I have not gone through and deleted many threads which date from prior to these rules being posted.

      Thank you.

You could try the Old School approach: Direct networking.

Posting a bunch of meaningless one-liners wouldn't be a great idea anyway, as those tend to get nuked wholesale if someone sees and reports them.

This section is currently free to post in. It's intended to help the members of the community to make connections and build their businesses more quickly. If you have no desire to become an active member of the community, you are welcome to advertise in the paid sections.

Or network. That's probably going to be more effective anyway.

No "investment requested" offers will be approved here, even if they look completely legit. That sucks for the ones that are doing things cleanly, but those have been too big a source of problems for the other members. We're going with the odds for that type of thing.

      MoneyKattz,

That's still an affiliate offer. Sounds like a very smart one, too.

I also have the leads and places where I can market them. Is this forum the place where I can look for such JVs with like-minded programmers who could invest their time and talents along with me? I did send out a post in here and it's currently in the waiting mode; but it's close to 24 hours - so I guess maybe I should have asked this question before.

UPDATE: No worries, it's approved, thanks .

Posting the offer as a question in the rules thread is probably not the best approach.

You could put it in your signature file and post normally. You could pay for a classified ad or banner spot. Or you could look for people asking for suppliers for your type of product and contact them directly.

I probably didn't even read your offer. When I queue up tabs with new offers every day, I go through and delete anything from members with less than 50 posts, without looking past that number. The ads in this section are currently offered at no financial cost, but we do require that posters have participated in the discussions.

War Room membership doesn't have anything to do with this part of the forum, by the way.

That said, we no longer approve affiliate offers in this section, no matter how many posts you have.

Depends on how you structure the offer. It sounds more like a "wanting to hire" ad, but that's just an impression based on very little info.

You need to carefully consider the way you present it. That's much more important than whether it gets approved here, as this is far from the only place you could be looking for partners.

Note: We will not be approving posts from people who sign up and start looking for JVs without some track record of useful participation in the forum.
And then clarified in post 85:
I probably didn't even read your offer. When I queue up tabs with new offers every day, I go through and delete anything from members with less than 50 posts, without looking past that number. The ads in this section are currently offered at no financial cost, but we do require that posters have participated in the discussions.

    Hey Paul,

I know it has nothing to do with the topic but I just had to say I loved the fact that you used the word "Hinky"! That's something I don't hear very often.

    Thanks for making me smile.

    Dear Paul,

I know the rules are there, because I have read them carefully before spending 3 hours on perfecting my thread opening post and spending $35 on a war room membership just to be able to open this tread on the JV forum.

Was my thread not approved because you consider an account with 17 posts and 15 thanks as one with a lack of track record?

Did you see this thread where I have 3-4 very old forum members vouching for me?

    http://www.warriorforum.com/copywrit...reat-news.html

Paul, I'm a reasonable guy and I'm trying to do something nice here. I don't see why anyone would not approve my forum thread.

Would you please take a look at who I am and what I'm trying to do and make an exception for me although most of my participation on this forum hasn't been in terms of visible posts?

Or should I spend maybe a day more on this forum, participate in conversations and grow my post count? Am I going to be allowed to post my thread to the JV forum? Is that what you're ACTUALLY looking for? Numbers?

    Kind regards,

    -Ben

As you can see by my thread below yours, you are not alone in your frustration. Many other members are also experiencing the exact same treatment. It really makes no sense at all. I have never been on a forum where you were simply ignored. I thought this forum was for everyone. And when you payed a fee to join ( which most forums don't require ) , you were treated with respect. It would seem Paul is burned out by people scamming the forum and really does not trust anyone anymore. I can understand his frustration as that trend is alive and well and could really get old FAST. But from the requests I have read here..... " Are you listening Paul ? " There are some good people with something good to offer the users of this forum which does not violate the spirit of this forum. Numbers of posts prove nothing. Participation is measured in many ways. It is the quality..... not the quantity. Respectively please re-think your position.

        DearDave,
Can you explain what was the issue of my post
I haven't been approving any of the "I have a site, I'll split the revenues for traffic" offers. I may loosen up the approval guidelines soon, though, as far as the types of offers that get through.

        htd,
It really makes no sense at all. I have never been on a forum where you were simply ignored.
The fact that you don't agree with (or possibly just don't understand) a policy doesn't mean it doesn't make sense.

When you tell enough people "No," there will always be some that want to argue. They tend to get obsessed and push things until they cross the lines and get banned. Some, especially those who make it clear they've read the rules and try to violate them anyway, don't get the point. Those folks are the most likely to push small things until they become large issues. Ignoring the initial issue removes that trap from the path of most people.

There's also the matter of time. I volunteered to moderate this section to try and keep out some known scams and scammers that kept popping up, and to make it more useful for the members. Explaining every decision would be a huge time sink.

There will be adjustments made, but they won't include removing the minimum post requirement. It may go up or down, as the balance dictates, but it will not go away.

The limit is there for a few reasons. The biggest is to keep out the hit-and-run types. It takes a very little effort to make 50 posts that stick, but those people are likely be unwilling to make that effort and take their games somewhere else.

Another is that I consider posting in this section to be a privilege that's earned. Reading posts doesn't add anything to the forum. If you think "I've benefitted from the efforts of the other members but haven't given anything back to them" qualifies as participation, we're using very different definitions.

Making that effort is the "price" of getting an ad considered for this section of the forum.

          Dave,

This sure looks like you want traffic from them first:
In order for us to place you in this exclusive position, you will need to bring your expertise now to do SEO on another site we now have.
          As for this...
And mine fails to fall into any of the above mentioned.
I've been keeping the approvals on a tight leash for reasons already expressed in this thread. I mentioned to you that I was considering loosening those, to see where the balance ends up.

Someone else said, in a post they deleted...
I found at least five posts in the JV section that are in clear violation of "the rules" as stated by the moderator over and over again.......
Note the dates of those threads and the date this one was posted. I did not choose to go back and apply the same standards retroactively to the approximately 10,000 previously extant threads in this section.

          Care to guess why?

              Hi Paul,

I have a question about creating a JV thread. I have a video product I bought Resell Rights for...below are the product rights... My question is would this be the appropriate section to post something like "my product advertised to your list and we split the profits 50/50"? The list owners would not have access to the product, they would refer their subscribers through their affiliate link and I would deliver the product as well as give the list owners their cut.

[Yes] Personal and Resell Rights as stated below
[Yes] Can be shared with one colleague or partner
[Yes] Video Products (took out the real name) that are customized can be sold to offline clients for any price
[No] Tutorial files can be edited,
[No] Can be offered as a bonus
[No] Can be included in "paid" membership sites
              [No] Can Pass Resale Rights
[No] Can Pass Master Resale Rights
[No] Can be combined with other offers.
[No] Can be turned into a DVD
[YES] Can claim yourself as the author or producer of the Video Product (took out name of product) only
              [No] Can sell on eBay.com.
              [No] Includes Sales Page
[No] Can pass Private Label Rights
[No] Can be used as free web “give away” content
[No] Can be given away free
[Yes] Completed Video Product (took out name of product) can be uploaded to YouTube or other video hosting
              sites. (Excludes Tutorial Videos)
[No] Can be sold as a WSO.
[No] Can offer as a bonus to a WSO, or resell on the Warrior Forum as a Classified Ad

              Thanks!!

                  Just a point of clarification,

In a seperate thread, i read that only War Room members can put up a post in the JV section thread.

                  1) Does this mean you have to be a War Room member AND have 50 posts
                  2) Or does this mean if you are a War Room member you can post on JVs, but if you are a non member you need 50 posts?

                  Grateful for the clarification!

                      Wazzup mr Myers,

Quick question.... I know that in order to post for jv's, I need 50 post.... the thing is that I just never knew that this was a requirement or else I would have took action on this. I have been a war room member for a few months now and I have just been learning from other marketers in the war room to where I am now about to launch my first product on click bank.

My product is in the weight loss niche and it would be great if I could get promotion from here.... so with that being said, I was wondering if I could contribute one of my ebooks thats part of my product for free to like war room members... even though it involves weight loss, and warrior forum is basically "how to make money" niche.... I think some one might want to lose weight lol... and I could contribute in that sense since that is what I know.

im launching august 26th which is why I may seem desperate but at the same time I want to post in this forum with value... there is no way I can post that many times with value. so this is the only thing I could come up with.

    Paul,
I just signed up but have been reading and recommending the forum for years. I haven't posted many threads because quite frankly I don't have much to add. My skill are not marketing based. A meaningless post is just that. It would take me years to post 50 threads. I read, as in fact, many of your users only do. And I am not trying to get around paying for an ad. I posted ( or tried twice to post ) a venture that is at the heart of what this part of the forum is about. I am looking to bring my set of skills together with another warrior. Can you please read the post or have someone reply to my requests ? I would very much appreciate that. thanks HTD

I'm rethinking the approval criteria. Specifically, the types of offers. I'll probably loosen those up quite a bit soon.
I am now about to launch my first product on click bank.
That's two reasons it wouldn't be approved in this section. You don't have the required post count and it's an affiliate recruitment offer.

    Hi Paul,
I just wanted to clarify my understanding of how the JV forum works. I have an offline business that's been going for a few years and have been advised that the best way to grow is to find an SEO partner (with a suitable share in the company) who can give the business the internet exposue it needs. I was recommended to Warrior Forum Site. I understand that I have to comment 50 times before I can post my JV requirements, but do I also have to be a paid member.
    Your clarification would be appreciated.

I believe you have to be a paid War Room member to post in this section.

I should point out that I don't approve most of the offers that ask for SEO work in return for profit sharing. I would recommend that you find someone by asking people you know, or at least folks whose opinions you have reason to trust, for recommendations.

The majority of the people who would respond to a request like that in this section are going to be link bombers, not real SEO professionals. Those folks can do you more harm than good.

Can it be assumed that if a post doesn't appear after 3 or 4 days, that it has been rejected for some reason?

If so, is there a way to understand the specifics of why the post has been rejected.

I understand and respect the need to filter out the none complying posts therefore I am keen to make sure I am the right side of the rules.

    Andy,

I normally check in here twice a day. It's rare for two days to go by without it, so yeah. At that point, it's safe to assume a post was not accepted.

The most common reasons for posts being deleted in this section, aside from those from new members, is that they look more like hiring employees or recruiting affiliates. The next likely candidate is simple lack of detail.

      Hey Paul,

I wanted to post a Joint Venture in which I have a product (well, I am still working on it, but will be completed within a week or two) to sell plus the investment and I just want few interesting people with good mailing list to market my product.

Although I am not a new member of the Warrior Forum, I still don't have enough post-count to qualify the criteria for posting a JV. So would you accept my post if you find some value in it, or will I have to wait till I reach the specified post count?

      Thanks!

        misteeque,

I haven't made any exceptions yet to the 50 post standard. That one isn't about the value of the offer, as I don't even read them if the poster doesn't have the required post count.

Plus, it sounds like you're looking to recruit affiliates. That's fine, but it's not a JV as we use the term here, so it probably wouldn't be approved anyway.

        General comments...

The fact that a person is new doesn't mean they're inexperienced or that they don't have a lot to offer. It only means they haven't put any effort yet into the community. If someone is that new and wants to advertise here, they can. They just have to pay to do it, and they can't do it in this section.

The primary reason I put that in as one of the criteria is that we had a lot of problems with people signing up to post in this part of the forum, and a lot of them were actually the same one or two people posting the same sort of deal every time. They always turned out badly for the folks who got involved.

One of them still comes through on about a weekly basis, but he can't post in here any more. Now he sends PMs to people, offering to sell them solo ads. If you get that kind of message from someone with a new account and no posting history here, don't go for it. Use the report function and let the mods know.

In the PM section, you click on the little red triangle to the upper right of the screen to report a post to the mods.

Since it's asking for people with the exact same skill set, for the same general purpose, it looks like a way around the previous rejection. So, no. It isn't going to be approved.

Fascinating. The rule you're complaining about was posted well over a year before you paid for the membership you now complain doesn't allow what you wanted to do.

Please contact the help desk about a refund. In the mean time, I need to consider whether someone who does this sort of thing should be allowed to keep an account here at all. I'm leaning strongly toward "No."

    By the way...
The absurdity of having a selection called Warrior Joint Ventures and not allowing adults to decide what is a good offer and what is not, speaks for itself.
We aren't telling anyone what is and is not a "good offer." We're deciding what fits the definition of a JV for purposes of this section of this forum.

Selling distributorships is definitely NOT a JV offer as we use the term.

It's harder to get banned than you might think, unless you're spamming. And I don't think I've banned anyone for anything in this section in a year or more. One of the advantages of having it pre-moderated.

It would be a good idea to read the rules threads at the top of each section before posting in it, though. You're still a long way from having enough posts to offer a JV here.

That one read more like an ad for the product than a partner. Leave out the link to the product and turn off your sig for that post and it would probably be approved.

    Hey Paul,

I'm kind of shocked that my jv partner offer was not approved. I know what a joint venture is because that is all I do other than list building. I always have a partner for almost all my projects.

All I did is explain what the project was all about and gave a link to the incomplete sales letter that does not have any working order links which gave more information about the project.

I did not want any surprises for anyone who wanted to be a 50/50 partner in the project.

I was trying to sell the project and not the product. The project is a little different because I do not believe anyone has the software to do what I'm able to do in this project so it is a little unique.

I was honestly looking for a partner for this project. Please let me know what needs to be removed from the joint venture offer and I will do the presentation differently.

I was looking for someone who could do images and some copy and willing to learn how my software works so they could add the elements they were working on without my assistance.

    Best regards,
    Steve

    Steve,

You went into depth about the product, but you weren't very clear about what you wanted from a partner. What do they need to do, and what do they get out of it?

The 50% split was clear, but the responsibilities/expectations weren't. If they were there at all, they got lost in the other stuff.

      Hi Paul,

Thank you for the feedback. I did forget to say that they get the same list that I get also. Plus since it is a membership site, they will receive their part of the residual profits also.

After all I get is 50% of the profit and the list and the partner will receive the same because I just have to check a box to allow it in my script. I did feel it necessary to explain how and when the partner will receive their share of the profits.

I think the only explanation I will give for the project will be the link to the inoperative sales letter.

I also wanted to say that my software works differently from what JVZoo is using because it is a hybrid that PayPal has approved with all kinds of extra security and is a self hosted software.

Since this is the Joint Venture area, if you would like a copy of my software to test and play with just let me know and I will give you a copy. If you like it, I know you would give me a testimonial.

I will resubmit my Joint Venture offer later tonight with a lot less information.

      Best regards,

    Hello Paul,

I have been a contributing member here for many years, but have never spoken to you before. It's good to see you here, responding, and I hope I can get a direct response from you.

Okay so I posted my first JV offer request and the fact that it has not yet been approved may mean it probably won't. So please advise me what I did wrong sir.

After reading a few of the comments, it seems I posted something similar to comment #138 but I actually was not trying to sell a product. I basically have a service I am providing and I am just looking for someone who can help me with the marketing, so we can split profits.

I thought that was what JVing is all about. Please advise me on how I can fix this if I did something wrong.

    Thanks.

      Paul,

I've thoroughly read the rules for posting a thread in the JV section, and I created a thread that adhered to them. That being said, I submitted the thread for approval two days ago, and it still hasn't gone live.

Maybe you can shed some light on the situation.

In the thread I submitted I explained that I've finished creating my first WSO, and that I'm looking for a marketing partner who can help with acquiring affiliates, and spreading the word about the product via email marketing etc.

I said that the partner would share in the profits for the product, and that their share would be negotiable. (I wanted to see what each person had to offer before agreeing on a percentage).

I asked interested Warriors to contact me via PM, and let me know what they could bring to the table from a marketing standpoint.

I know tht I don't have a ton of post as yet, but I do have the required 50, and I always try to give helpful honest advice when I do post.

Where did I go wrong with my submission?

      Paul,

I appolgize for my mistake about the thread. I searched further down the page, and I saw that it was indeed posted. Normally, with sections of the forum that require approval, I wait for the automated message in my email inbox that says the message was approved, and then I come back and check on the post.

However, I've been a bit bogged down with wmail lately, and I guess I just missed the approval confirmation.

Anyway, I'm sorry for taking up more of your time. I appreciate your prompt reply, and all the work you do here on the forum.

There is no approval confirmation email in this section. It's not a paid ad.

I understand the confusion, though, now that you bring up the reason. Thanks for that. It will help for me to keep that in mind in similar situations in the future. I had never thought of that as a cause for the questions, but it makes perfect sense.

I am new here but I am contributing a lot and I hope to stick around? - Will I be verified to post here?
I am also looking for people to work WITH me on a product regarding promoting products, advertising products and getting into multiple affiliate programs. I am not looking for affiliates just a partner to work with me on the promotion of a WSO i am planning to post. - Is this ok for this JV forum? I dont think it fits in affiliate database as I am not looking for an affiliate.

Sounds like a bunch of redundant questions that ask if some type of program is a joint venture. Most, well all of the answers were no, and one, hmmm maybe if the dynamics don't change too much.

The idea of Joint Venture is very strict and rightfully so. Thank you for adding quality back into the "JOINT"

JOINT means two (or more people) doing a short or long term project together and creating a very specific agreement on how to split the monetary gains or losses.

It seems as though this would mean, the two people are bringing in their relative expertise.

Person one brings in their software design, writing skills, or product development skills
Person two brings in their marketing, speaking or sales

and JOINTLY (or together), they build a brand, and earn some nice money that they agree to split 50/50 after expenses for example (make your own terms). And if there are losses they split that 50/50 financially too. Person one may agree to assume all of the financial obligations related to software design, writing or product development during production and Person two may agree to assume all of the initial and ongoing expenses related to marketing, and sales during the production phase.

They both agree to invest their time, and take profits once earned and after ongoing expenses after production.

Is this something like what you mean Paul?

I believe so, but I am hoping that will help with clearing up all of the questions about how to load ones affiliate, and FB group, etc.. Plus, I wanted to give you a break with typing those no's. Hope I am at least close to right and helpful.

    Thank you

Yes, that's a problem, but it's not something to become paranoid over. It's not YOU, it's everyone.

Yes, that's a problem, but it's not something to become paranoid over. It's not YOU, it's everyone.

Other than one thread that was moved here incorrectly from another section, I don't see anything to suggest that there's been any moderation in this section for a while now.

      Paul
Thanks Paul I can see that you are correct I have been looking at the last post date, my bad.

It is not an issue of being paranoid though, I was told that in order to post in Joint Ventures I had to be a war room member so I purchased it, $97

That's pay to play and I'm OK with that, but if I pay and not allowed to play then this is bordering on scam and I thought Warrior Forum was better than that? I have sent a ticket into the help desk so I will wait to see what they have to say.

Thanks for getting back with me though.

I only posted it here. For some reason, the system occasionally sends comments to people who've posted in the thread. (Any thread.) Not sure what the thinking behind that was, but it's not something I can control.

Weird when it happens like that, though, eh?

    Joe,

It's confusion in the changeover since Freelancer bought the place. Lots of new staff and new things to learn. No scamming or sneakiness involved.

Doesn't make it any more fun to deal with, I know. Best advice I can give people is to drop a polite note at the help desk, to let them know how much the section is valued.

When I joined, shortly after I had purchased the war room upgrade, but didn't have the 50 post count to participate in the JV forum. And to not just run up post count, it took a while to get to 50 by focusing on actually being helpful to other members as time permitted.

Now I have to purchase the war room upgrade again, but at 97 just to post in JV forum. I realize for many the war room upgrade is valuable and helpful, but my only interest is to seek out a legitimate JV partner for some serious projects. Rather disappointed about the changes. How about a pay to post in JV forum? Or maybe a moderator could flip a switch on my account to be able to participate after all the effort?

And to be clear, I'm not bashing the war room upgrade... I think there's a lot of value there. Just disappointed about by experience considering my interests and efforts.

where can I post in looking for partners with experience and knowledge in crypto-currency and blockchain?
On a cryptocurrency forum WF is internet marketing rather than an investment forum.

To post a Joint Venture here you need to be a War Room member and be a participating forum member (50 posts or so).

WF does not permit threads about crypto and blockchain except for a few general discussion threads in the Off Topic section and an occasional paid banner ad.

Your original JV thread has been in moderation awaiting approval. Apologies for the delay.

On reflection, the thread is more of a service offer than a partnership. It would be more appropriate in the classified section.

What 'JV'? On this forum JV refers to the "Joint Venture' section - available in the War Room and it's not a launch platform.

What did you pay for? I don't see any paid ads pending under your account.

You posted a JV that was not approved. You then posted it again with the same result. You were advised to post an ad thread in a marketplace section - and there would be a fee for that.

Help desk response may take a couple days - and this is the weekend so that might be responsible for the delay. Hopefully you will have an answer soon.

    Joe (K),

Glad to hear they got it sorted out for you.

It's usually not a good idea to assume there's anything personal in this stuff. There is almost always a simple explanation that has more to do with process than content.

That said, there was one fellow who was never going to have an offer approved in this section while I was moderating it. Dude was not a War Room member, was making an offer the rules clearly say was not allowed here, and had 2 posts when he submitted his first JV. Instead of reading the rules and seeing why his post wasn't approved after multiple attempts, he went straight to main discussion and pushed some BS conspiracy garbage in a rather insulting fashion.

    No soup for him!

Hi Paul and the moderation team. I read the rules required to post here and they all make sense. The one thing I would like clarification on is the "50 post" rule to prevent a total newb from joining the WF just to start scrounging around for JVs - again, I totally get that; makes perfect sense. Here's the thing though, I'm a War Room member and have been on the WF since 2011. Even though I'm at 26 posts, wouldn't my tenure on the WF trump the "50 post" rule? Just figured I'd ask. Thanks...

If you check your emails, you'll see that your JV was not approved because it did not meet the JV requirements. You are seeking affiliates, not a specific JV partner. As advised, you can post in the Affiliate Program Database section, take out a classified ad or put a link to your offer in your sig file.
