No, you're not trashing the thread at all, it's a very valid question.

Actually it's the result of an angry customer. Long story short, someone (from this forum, you know who you are) purchased the software, then immediately reported to paypal that they did not make the purchase. I then refunded the money, and shut off the license.

This person did not anticipate the fact that I used server-side licensing, and attempted to use it again, and found it didn't work. They they regenerated a serial, and I blocked their IP from the license server, and they sent me a very angry email, and said they would get my accounts banned, and shut down my site.

This person then took all of their twitter accounts, and flagged my account, and the twadder account as spam over and over (if you want to know how to kill someone's twitter account, thats how you do it). They also emailed my webhost and falsely claimed they recieved 20,000 emails from me in one day. My webhost decided to shut down the website.

So that's the reason my Twitter account is deactivated, I still have many other accounts this person didn't know about, that I used twadder with and that survived.

But, I must mention Twadder CAN get you banned if you are posting adult stuff or spam, because people will mark you as spam and they will disable your account. Twitter has a flagging system like craigslist, and enough flags and it automatically disables you, so be careful!

If you get shut down by a very amateuristic webhost who shut down your website after 1 e-mail from a stranger who claims to have received 20.000 emails within a single day and does not have any prove, i firstly advise you seriously to look for a better hoster.

Would love to see a feature that can check after a click on a button who followed you back, and also shows who still didnt follow you though.

Maybe there is a chance to show what date you have add a person to follow so you can decide after for example a month or just 3 weeks whatever to unfollow this person if you see in Twadder Pro that they still not follow you back.

But, I am going to say this. At the risk of losing sales, and shooting myself in the foot, I'm going to be completely honest:

Just buying Twadder will not make you a successful Twitter marketer any more than buying a nice guitar will make you a rock star.

What I mean by that is, Twadder is simply a tool. You still need to research what you're doing, come up with a good marketing plan, and shape your message you're trying to deliver to your audience. Twadder is great, and works well for marketers, but it's simply a tool you use to save time and optimize your campaign.

A lot of software vendors try to tell you they have a "magic bullet" that will make you succeed and get rich quick just buy buying their software. I will do no such thing, but I can promise you that Twadder will help your marketing efforts by saving you time and finding targeted people to market to.

Is it similar to facebook where by you have your own wall - places to put picks and your own space where your followers will come to visit? If so then will we be putting all of our info on our space with the hope that they will act how we would like them to?

you don't get their emails, but when you post stuff on there, they see it if they are following you. It is a lot like facebook, but thats all twitter does is give you a "wall" and it's pretty much one big wall you can post your links on and hope that your followers will click on stuff.

Well, I've explained in this thread the situation that had transpired, it's a little more than a "hosting issue". But I have a new web host, and am talking with twitter and my new webhost to try and stop this person who has tried to kill the business. Long story short, someone got pissed when I deactivated their license (after they got a refund), and they sent out spam notices all over the place and got my twitter account canceled, hosting disabled, and got my ads removed from various websites. He even tried to get my paypal account suspended.

I have never stopped supporting the software, and I am working on a new version, with tons of new features as we speak (this will be a free upgrade for you). The software has been successful, but there have been a lot of roadblocks to get through, but I'm trying to keep it going in spite of people who have tried to make it fail.

No matter what happens, I'll still maintain and support the software, nothing to worry about.

COMMON ISSUES WITH TWADDER

I have sold a lot of copies of this stuff, and my support requests have been coming in, and many of them are the same. If you're thinking about purchasing this, or have just purchased it, take a read through this list really quick, it will save you a lot of time.

1. The .Net framework is not installed.

If you get a big error message dumped on your screen when you go to setup, it's likely the .net framework is missing.

The Microsoft .Net Framework version 3.5 is REQUIRED for Twadder to run. You can get it here. Twadder will install it automatically if you do not have it, yet I have gotten many support requests from people who cancelled the install and tried to run it anyway.

The software simply will not function without the .net 3.5 framework. This is not an option, but a requirement, if you don't want to upgrade your .net install, do not purchase Twadder. We use a lot of cutting edge features in .net that require the newest framework, and it's likely other software in the future will require it too. It only takes a few minutes to update.

2. Twadder is not Following People.

There is a limit after 2000 follows, that's described here:

Twitter’s 2,000 Follower Limit @ Using Twitter: The How to Twitter Guide

There are ways around the limitation, you can go to Huitter.com and unfollow those who aren't following you. This will free up your follows so you can follow some more people.

The more followers you get, the more followers you attract, and this will bump the ratio so the limit no longer applies. This takes a little time, but it works very well for a lot of people, you just have to stick with it.

3. The Username and Password are not filled out, or filled incorrectly.

Twadder simply will not function without a valid username and password in the fields. Otherwise, how would it know which account to add followers to?

Also as a side note, make sure and test out your login credentials before entering them into Twadder. Twadder DOES NOT store your login data in any way, it simply takes it from the boxes at the top, and places it in the browser for you. If you put bad information in there, bad information will be passed to Twitter.

I get a lot of emails saying "I can't log in to Twadder". That's not the case, you can't log in to Twitter, because the information isn't correct. Double check your settings.

4. I got a message saying Twadder is overloaded.

Again, Twadder is simply a product that connects to Twitter. Twadder doesn't get overloaded, but sometimes Twitter does. The message you are getting is when Twitter is overloaded, and that is outside our control. Usually they have their systems back up in minutes, just keep trying. There is a status button on Twadder that will show you Twitters update page to see what's going on.

5. Twadder is "locking up".

What happens when you start following people, is twadder connects to twitter.com and starts following people. It has to search for users based on your keyword, compile a list of those users, and one by one it loads their information and sends a follow request. If you choose to follow 500 people, that could take up to five minutes. During this time, Twadder might look like it's "locked up" but in reality it's just doing it's job, and you have to wait a few minutes.

If five minutes seems like a long time, think about how long that would take you by hand. If it took you even 30 seconds to search, load up a page and follow a person, 500 users, it would take you a little over 4 hours. Twadder does the same thing in 5 minutes.

I hope this helps, this information could save us both a lot of time. Twadder does what it promises, and if it truly doesn't work on your machine I will refund the money, but 95% of our customers have installed it without problems. Have a question? feel free to ask.

Sorry, I just realized I totally skipped over this post.

I did get it on another hosts server. The original host was HostGator, and I can't fault them for playing it safe, but it's crap to just shut someone off without any investigation of the facts (if I were sending out thousands of emails from my server, they would know about it before someone TOLD them about it).

after 2000 followers, limits are applied to the account, but there are ways around them. I have detailed it somewhat here:

If you remove enough people, you can follow them again, and really keep the flow going.

Also remember, you can create as many accounts as you want, and Twadder supports multiple accounts. I have one user who has 70,000 followers total amongst all his accounts, that he got in a couple months.

How to get 10,000 Followers in a week.

This is a really simple formula, and I'll show you how to do it.

Here is a testimonial from one of my customers. He asked that his name and Twitter accounts not be given out, because he doesn't want to be banned from Twitter. But, he did agree to let me post his email up here, and show others what can be done.

Last month I bought Twadder Pro. I thought it was a little low on price so it might be sketchy, but I wanted to try it. I now have over 50,000 followers on twitter, and I'll tell you how I did it.

1. I created 10 twitter accounts, all with names relative to my niche. I used free gmail accounts to do it.

2. I signed up for an account on tweetlater.com, like you said and entered in all ten accounts.

3. I went to digg.com, delicious, and stumbleupon and collected a BUNCH of really cool links to sites about cars and racing. I made a huge list of about 100 or so.

4. I took those links and scheduled them to post at different times during the day, on all the different accounts. I had each account posting 5-10 links a day, automatically.

5. I also took your advice from your website and sheduled "personal" tweets like "boy it is hot today" and "listening to... (popular band) and things like that. I even threw in some random quotes. Tweetlater started posting the tweets to the accounts automatically, so it looked like 10 people were posting all this stuff.

6. The next day, I ran twadder on each account, and added 400-500 people each day. In three days, I ran into the 2000 follower limit on most of my accounts, and I waited for people to follow me back.

7. On the 5th day, I went to Huitter.com and removed the people who weren't following me back, and ran twadder again to follow more people.

8. After a single week, each of my accounts had over 1,000 followers. I checked my stats and had exceeded 10,000 followers.

9. I then decided to go back and create more accounts, and continue the process. Here I am, a month later with over 50,000 followers. I posted some of my affiliate links and they went wild with sales!! My patience really paid off.

I hope this helps some of your other customers, I followed your instructions almost exactly, and built a targeted twitter network and made over $300 dollars in a single day, just from sales from these accounts.

I have tweetadder, and its not possible to get that many that quick without getting banned, but this price is cheap and the software does work!

You definitely wouldn't want to add 10,000 followers on just one account in a week. The example above is with 10 different accounts (though I'm sure you could do it with less).

But yes, 10,000 followers in one week on the same account is definitely possible, but might be suspicious.

One thing I would love to see. I know that you mention that it handles multiple accounts . . . but not really right? Unless I'm missing something.

From what I see you can log into one account, do your business, close the app, start it up again and log into a new account.

So what I would ask is for the ability to remember credentials and to truly manage multiple accounts.

I did have an affiliate program for this, but it caused a lot of big problems, so I discontinued it. I might start it up again in the future, but the problem is you can't advertise it on twitter, which kind of makes it pointless.

I'm currently trying to get my accounts reinstated that were shut off, and one of their concerns was that I was encouraging people to post links on twitter, and they don't like it. So it's kind of a tricky situation.

I can do rebranding deals, if you're interested in buying a rebranded version of the software, PM me. At least then you could keep all the profits you make.

This is a very good program for following lots of people, saving me lots of time. Although I did find a bit misleading when you mention it supports multiple accounts since you have to manually log in every time you start up the app. Perhaps you can add this in your next update if possible?

It depends on how often you do it, and how busy the keyword is. If different people are talking about it frequently, yes it will add new people. If it's the type of thing that's only mentioned a few times a day, it will take longer. If the person has already been added, it will skip over them and keep going.

Keep in mind you only want to add 4-500 people a day anyway, so if you are doing it so aggressively that you aren't getting new users, you may be adding new people.

I'm not trying to be misleading, here is what I mean by that statment. Many twitter adders are controlled at the server, and you give the company an account to use with it. They only support one account at a time, and you have to either pay more money to get more accounts, or only use it with just that account. Since twadder just passes the account information straight to twitter, you can use as many accounts as you want.

And yes, we will be adding stored accounts in the next update. There is a "profile" feature to keep track of logins, amongst other things. This will be a free update for existing twadder customers.

READ THIS BEFORE PURCHASING

I have been getting flooded with emails from customers having problems using this software with Windows Vista 64 bit. If you are running Vista64, you will need to do the following to get it to work:

Install the updated version of Windows Installer:

Windows Installer 4.5 is available

And a patch for SQLCE:

Download details: SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP1 and Synchronization Services for ADO.NET v1.0 SP1 for Windows Desktop

And sometimes, you have disable UAC as well:

PLEASE DO THESE THINGS BEFORE CONTACTING SUPPORT.

If you choose not to do these things, and contact us anyway you'll just be wasting both of our time.

As much as I hate to say this, if this seems like a lot of work, you're better off not purchasing the software at all. I will refund the money, but if you run Vista64 and want to give this a try, please follow the steps above.

This is not a problem with my software, it is an issue with Microsoft .net and the support provided for Vista64.

Honestly, if you're a marketer using your computer for business purposes, Vista64 may not be the best choice for you. Most new software written uses the .net framework, and over half the marketing programs out there use it. Even if you don't take these steps when installing Twadder or Social Blaster, you'll end up needing to do it anyway for future software you purchase.

To be frank: Microsoft's support for Vista64 and the .Net framework (their own software) SUCKS. The performance of Vista64 is unstable as well. The driver compatibility and over system stability leaves much to be desired. Some people use it without any issues whatsoever, but most of the people I've talked to end up uninstalling it and going to a more stable 32 bit version.

I know for a fact that larger organizations do not allow the installation of Vista64 because of it's relative instability and increased calls to their IT departments. If you value your time, you should really consider using the more stable 32 bit version of Vista. As a small business owner every minute counts, and minutes spent tinkering with this shoddy operating system take away from time spent building your business. When Windows7 comes out, I think the 64 bit support will be much better.
