Looks good but I'm wondering why the alexa rank on your site had dropped in the last 3 months by 15K? Surely if it is always following hot trends on daily basis the traffic would remain fairly consistent? I know some topics are 'hotter' than others but as a 3 month average I wouldn't expect a sharp decline, unless of course I am missing something?

the alexa has dropped? OH, you are looking at wptrends probably. The site with the most traffic is actually not wptrends - but blog.promisia.com

My traffic the last weeks was actually a constant 900-1500 (spikes 1800) daily uniques with that one spike where i got 3000. (on blog.promisia.com) I had to move this site due to traffic, so you can believe me it works

The massive traffic on promisia started only a few weeks ago, i did some plugin updates AND i installed twitter poster in addition

the ads are from the theme. None of my products contains "built in" ads or anything in that regard.

Hotfeed works very "low level"...it returns a RSS feed which you "plug in" into eg. feedwordpress or an autoblog plugin.

I can guarantee that you will get good traffic...but how should i be able to guarantee a "fix" amount you might be making with CPA or Adsense? This would very much depend on your site and your offers. Here also: Trial and error.

Aside from making some change with adsense or CPA...a site which gets good traffic also gets way more value for purposes like reselling or selling banner space!

And..i am getting seriously hammered today again...

It's the keyword "Erin Andrews Peephole Video Tape" #1 Google trends keyword at the moment. Found my blog on #1 page in Google for this. I am getting hammered so bad i sometimes cant even load my site. I had 1700 uniques yesterday so i am assuming right now i am getting an even bigger traffic spike ...i optimized my Wordpress/VPS but it still cannot handle such spikes.

you can start out with getting "feedwordpress" and then give FWP the URL of the hotfeed feed. You can also use wp-o-matic, yaab etc..and give those autobloggers the feed url. Like yourblog.com/hotfeed/hf.php <--- would be your feed URL.

The key to tap into trendy traffic is best to build community, use the great content on your blog to build and keep tons of followers, then monetize them.

If you are building niche blog, this product is good as well, but don't expect the conversion to be same or as high.

Hi - I'm not sure the theory works. If you have 100 blogs all posting the same content (basically the hot trends), then how can they all occupy the top 10 spots. You must have some sort of back linking strategy as well (in addition to RSS feed submission and pinging). Any clarification on this would help. Thanks, Allen

Hello guys, i am back after a break.

I need to clarifiy something. I had some people emailing me thinking that hotfeed will "magically" create traffic out of nothing once it is installed.

Of course you still need to have backlinks and you need to get your site indexed in google. The traffic is coming once your site is in Google. The other source of traffic is that i noticed that many OTHER blogs start using your blog/URL as "source" for news - so part of the traffic is also coming from those other blogs once they use your site as source or RSS feed.

In the example of the blog where i had up to 6000/day i was ranking in Google for a very popular video at this particular day which was #1 in the current "Google Hot Trends" searches.

You cannot expect to install hotfeed...and a day later to expect 1000s of visitors if your site is not even in the google index and literally brand new. You need to give it time. Traffic will gradually increase...you NEED to leave backlinks and let the site get indexed as any other new site.

But, the Christmas season passed already and we are beyond of the beginning of the new business year.

1) will always have the current google trends keywords, and they can be anything really.

2) relatively easy, you upload it to you your server and then use the hotfeed URL in conjunction with an autoblogger plugin which can read RSS.

3) you can specify positions, you dont need to use only the #1 keyword, you can make sites with different google trends keywords. (Position 1- 100) You can also make a site with videos, and one with news etc.

I too would like to know the results before I plonk $47 down. I'm relatively new to autoblogging and have a couple of concerns that hopefully Georg can answer within the next month or three.

1) blog.promisia.com - it's not indexed anymore. I believe you said it was because you were posting to twitter too often. How/why exactly did it get de-indexed as I can't imagine posting to twitter would cause a de-index.

2) What autoblogging plugin are you using in conjunction with HF? Yaab (I think you mentioned yaab at bhw) or any other? Which is best?

3) What type of server load can we expect? I have 1 VPS and the rest are small resellers. Are the heavy server loads from traffic, hotfeed itself, or both?

4) It would be a great help to hear some testimonials...good or bad! Anyone??!

Hi promo, ok let me answer some questions.

Yes, blog.promisia i "screwed up" because i used an auto-tweet plugin which tweeted to twitter EACH and any time i autoblogged. Since this was quite a bunch someone didnt like that, reported me. twitter acccount was suspended and site de-indexed. This at a time where i had INSANE visitors on this site.

Well..lesson learned ;/

2) yes i am using yaab, sometimes simply feedwordpress. The reason is that yaab is very good in my opinion and one of the few where you can actually put an RSS feed as "source"....so its perfect to give the HF RSS Url and "plug" directly into yaab. Its also great for embedding videos.

3) No we come to server load, my favorite topic

Right now i am running a VPS with 700ish memory, and i have ALL my sites (wordpress blogs mainly) running on that one VPS..it must be 50-100 sites total, i did not count them. (Some of them are autoblogs but most are not)

I am honest: Yes, autoblog plugins (especially the embedding of the videos) put some heavy load on the servers! When i also auto-tweeted (which happened at the same time) PLUS 6000 uniques a day....you can imagine what happened. (I did this on a shared host at that time.. i also did not have any optimization/cache plugins installed....BIG MISTAKE

The problem is not hotfeed, but the fact that all those plugins (pulling of RSS with hotfeed, blogging/embedding of videos, tweeting) basically happened at the same time...

So..i would say that you are fine on a VPS where you have a few sites and use caching plugins (wp-supercache)..but dont do it on shared and dont run MANY autoblogs at the same time. In fact i am pausing some of mine right now since the speed of my main money sites i more important than having all the autoblogs running also.

I bought the Hotfeed plugin last year. Didn't really do much with it and have now re-installed it on one of my blogs. Had it up and running about a month and without doing much by way of promotion (in fact nothing) I am getting around 50 uniques a day. Just have to work out the best way of monetizing now!

I have one question Georg. I have been on your WPTrends website and notice that when you pull Youtube videos you get them to play on your site. When I pull them (either on my site or within the feed itself) they link to Youtube and play on Youtube which means they are playing them off my site and I lose the visitor. How do you do get the videos playing on your site and therefore the visitor staying on your site?
