Thanks for the questions. Totally legit, and I'm glad I can address them.

The number of backlinks will vary based on where you search. For example, Google is notoriously secretive of backlinks because they don't want people to figure out the search results algorithm so easily, but Yahoo's tools offer a better glimpse. This doesn't just come from me, but the StomperNet guys - (they recommend using Yahoo to lookup backlinks).

For example, check out this link for my backlinks (for the same site shown in the screenshot):
https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.co...i&bwmo=&bwmf=s

That displays 4,998 inbound links "from all pages" to the "entire site" (the correct settings on the Yahoo tools page) - it's even more than the screenshot you mentioned - and I've done ZERO link building since then (in fact, I barely update the site now - it's all on auto-pilot!)

About the article submissions, there have been some article submissions and some video marketing as well, especially at first, but that's few and far between. The point is that if you have quality content, you'll naturally get links from others.

About the pagerank, my site recently had a big move from a custom platform onto Wordpress and I changed to a dedicated server with a different IP for a more robust platform, so I'm guessing that has to do with the page rank. I'm waiting for the next Pagerank update for that to be fixed, kind of annoying, but my search rankings and traffic have been steady, so I'm not all that concerned about the PR.
