I'm going round in circles here !!!

Purchased and created an account. Logged in to the account and was then told I needed a licence key sent to me to activate the download. Entered the licence key and this was validated ...... no download links are active .... entered the code again just to make sure and it says "Key does not exist or session expired" ... still no download links .... still unable to download.

There seems to be a very convoluted order process. I understand you need to licence things but so far I have ordered, created an account, had to receive another email to confirm my account, then receive another email with a key to activate my product download etc etc.

And I still can't download the product now !!!!!!

Any chance you can activate my download so I can use the product ?

Many thanks, I reset the whole process via the "reset" option and was then able to download the file. Looks like my session timed out during the first download attempt causing the first download key to become inactive.

No problems with the install at my end. Apart from the admin username and password are incorrect. They begin with lowercase and not uppercase as shown in the manual ie. admin NOT Admin, same goes for the password as well.

Hi, yes, this is an undocumented feature at the moment because I've not personally tested. However, in theory you should be able to add the affiliate code (for example from idev affiliate) to the thank you page and use these parameters for the order ID and sale amount:

For Item ID: $item_id
For Sale Amount: $item_amount

I really need to test this feature before I make it public, as I can't guarantee it will work as desired.

There is a OTO file in the templates folder called: oto_products.tpl

You can edit this page with your OTO content and use this code where you want the payment button to go:

The PayPal Downloads Pro script has been tested and evolved continuously by me over the last 10 months or so. The 'lite' version has been successfully used to conduct over 1,000 PayPal transactions and earned a little over $6,000 since September. This was tested on a HostGator account.

The Pro version (the new one) has been tested by me for the last month and a half on a JustHost, HostGator and GigaPros hosting account and on a live website. This has done around 50 successful transactions and made about $130. It has also been extensively tested by our Quality Assurance team - However, we expect to have problems when we release it in to the wild

The software we are using on SmarterScripts.com is our new software licensing and ordering system, which is completely different to PayPal Downloads Pro. It's kinda still in the alpha phase and the only way to move it forward is to test it live and iron out the bugs - hence it being a bit rough around the edges

The downloads are stored in a folder called products which are .htaccess protected (meaning you can't see any files). When you use the built in flash uploader, it automatically encrypts the file name so becomes something like:

k2350ij4tlk243thuih.zip

Furthermore, when the user downloads the file, the filename given to the user is different.

Some may say this is over kill

IP blocking is planned, I know all about those pesky serial refunders! I would love to hear your other suggestions so I can create a roadmap for the product.

I agree with that. Also, in the emails all the lines run together making it difficult to read. What is the code for a new line in the email editor. I have tried <br> and even <p> but HTML is not parsed.

18th August 2009 Update: PayPal Downloads Pro 1.2.0 Released!

This is a very cool update because it brings in a number of features that I've been wanting for a while.

1. Separate the admin and front end template files
- Include a new folder in the templates folder called admin and all
the admin template files go in there

2. When the admin creates a OTO, it creates a new OTO template file.
The OTO template file doesn't include the common header or footer. For
example the template file name could be oto_1.tpl The generated file
should contain no layout, just the buy link and the no thanks link
code.

3. Use a Wordpress style WYSIWYG editor for the emails

4. Ability to search for a transaction by ID, email and product name

5. Improve the description hover box on the front page

6. General improvements to the English used in the software

7. Added the option to allow the admin to test that the
file download works correctly. Maybe the admin can click on edit for
one of the products and then there is a link that says "test download"
and it starts the download with the timestamped file.
