Perhaps I missed something here, but I take it that one has to tweet something to get people to their site first before the software can kick in and people will retweet the message to get even more traffic coming.

Is this correct?

Yes that is the "ideal" way to use the software.
First - tell your twitter followers - and then it kicks in and goes from there (And they retweet the message you put into the software)

But (truth be told) it really doesn't matter where the traffic comes from as long as you've got a twitter account and some of the people who hit the page have twitter accounts

There's no problem with using it for more than one Twitter account, but I DO NOT recommend that you have the same message for each Twitter account. Change the message a little for each site that you use the Viral Twitter Software for.

Yes you do need to add HTML code to your website in order to use VTS.
