This looks like a very interesting concept. Just wondering if you could tell me how you found is the best way to market this service to get people to put in coupons? I think that I just don't see the whole concept very well.

Hi Shawn,

That part is really easy peasy!

There are a number of ways to do this. For me I have
found this way works great.

You are surrounded by coupons, they are in the paper,
refrigerator magnets, val-pak, money mailer, phone book
calendars, fliers in the mail, card decks, and on and on.

I don't know if you have ever used these, but they are
expensive and not targeted. The results are not great
for the price.

I just take those coupons and call the owner and ask if they know
about the FREE local online coupon directory?

Ask for their email address to send the url. If that doesn't work I tell them to get a pen and write the url down.

That's just one way I've done it, Paul has a number of things he does
also, but we are not sharing everything here.

Shawn there are lots of things you can do with this.

The big features are...

• getting user names and email
• getting all merchant contact info
• renting your user list to local merchants
• merchant upgrade feature
• running your own ads for anything for free

My son live in Lyncburg, VA and the average
income is $25,000 per year. I live in Mpls,MN and
the average is $48,000.

So first it's what will the market support.

I do want to make sure this is understood you are
charging for impressions not by length of time.

I do 500 impressions in my market for $19.95.

But I don't have this site for the money I have it to get
contact info from local merchants so I can build
a relationship and sell the consulting.

Hi toptones

The idea behind the program is to develop an over supply of Prospects for our Direct Response consulting/web development business. Fill your Offline Gold marketing funnel to the brim with hot prospects.

So what I do is give a Merchant 1 free online coupon in exchange for the ability to market my other services to them, i.e. Website Design, SEO, Autoresponders, Hosting what have you. I get all their contact information they get to present a Coupon to Local Consumers. I also offer them a "Premium Merchant" Upgrade.

Here's where I make some $ directly with the software itself and why the software is Powerful, I charge $39 for an "Premium Merchant" upgrade (you can charge whatever you like) within the program I've set the Premium Merchant settings to 4 Coupons and a "Special Offer" (you can set the number of coupons for the Premium Merchants to whatever you like within the Admin Dashboard). The Special Offers from the Premium Merchants are rotated and shown to Consumers who come to the site, find a Coupon they want to use and print it out. The Special Offer is shown at that time.

I control the number of views each Special Offer gets before it needs to be renewed within admin dashboard you can also see how many views a particular merchant has left on his Special Offer within the dashboard of the software So they can buy 1,000 Special Offer views for an additional $40 (.04 cents a piece) or 750 views for $35 or 250 views for $20. You can charge whatever you like. The program has your Paypal Button set up and the Merchant can just pay you right ASAP!

Because we've built in an auto responder I can also email the Merchants offers on my other Offline Services. I can email them all or an individual merchant. It also allows us to email the "Consumers" who've choosen to use our Coupons and by doing such they agree to receive additional offers from Merchants in our area. I than sell these broadcasts to Merchants either individual merchants or a co-op of several area merchants together in one broadcast.

It's really easy to design and upload a coupon but some merchants don't have any artwork so I charge them a "design fee" That varies depending on the work involved. If they need a logo or what have you. Are there really 16,415 merchants in the entire Grand Rapids area? Sorry, I do believe you. Just had to laugh at 16,415 are actually in the entire state of Michigan. I used to live there, shopped at the Rivertown Mall (the only decent mall until you get to Chicago) and surprised there are ANY businesses left in Michigan.

I know exactly how you feel.

When I first started using it I was thinking about that
very issue.

After using it I found out that is wan't a big deal I am in
the admin dashboard everyday so the impression counts
are right there at the click of a button for all of the
merchants.

We are already working on V2, and we are trying to
set up an auto system for that. All it takes is time
and money. Lot's of money.

I don't want to sound negative here, but that video was very hard to watch/follow. Is there anyway to see 1) what steps/time it takes to install/configure the script and 2) what it takes for a merchant to create a coupon? Step by step?

No problem that video actually was 16 minutes long, but Paul had to cut it for YouTube so it's choppy.

The install is not hard if you have ever put up an application before. I went to great lengths to make the install instructions
as easy to understand as possible. I used screen grabs for every step.

Or our tech support will do it for $35.00. That's a Warrior price BTW.

All a merchant has to do is file in a few text boxes, upload a .jpg of his coupon and he's done.

If they don't want to do it you do it and charge them a fee.

I saw some pretty technical looking PayPal code on one screen that would definitely put off my non-technical clients.

What you saw was a page without a paypal button on it, your merchants will never see that.

It was hard to understand how much of my time it would take (if any) for a merchant to sign-up and create a coupon.

If he has a .jpg of his coupon about 2 minutes.

I also saw nothing related to installation process. I think your customers will want to know how long it will take to install the script...

For coupon users, Merchants, and the admin dashboard it's real easy to use.

We've been developing this software for almost 10 months now. This isn't even close to the 1st version. Good Point! LOL I sell Business DB's for cities and States and Providences through-out North America. (PM me if you want a quote for a particular city or state) The Grand Rapids DB is indeed 16,415 and is less than 8 months old. Michigan Statewide has 53,368 listings in my DB. I'm sure many Merchants have closed since than but some of us are hanging on.
We are licensing Warriors to use Coupon Commando on 3 domains (everyone else gets 1). So I could set up Coupon Sites for Kalamazoo and Muskegeon as well as Grand Rapids bringing my pool of potetntial Prospects to well over 30K merchants. Now I'm not counting people like Realtors who are self employed working under another entities Brokers License. The Program is very flexible so an Offline Golder could also set up a Local Real Estate Site and Sell listing to Realtors. Or I could make a Site Specific to Local Night Clubs and Bars or Churches or whatever! It's only limited by your imagination. The Program handles jpegs, gif and png files. Easy and powerful.

Well, I give Paul all the credit if he can make a living in MI, because the economy sucks bigtime in West MI. Unemployment is officially 16%, but the real number is over 20% Illegal immigrants can't find work and no money is being sent back to Mexico. I know it's bad when Illegals willing to work for almost nothing can't find jobs.

Strip malls are empty everywhere, it's very sad every time I go back. Stores that have been there 50, 75, 100 years are closing daily. Generations of business that will never return.

You're absolutely right. W. Michigan is a beautiful place to live and we have the best summers in the world. I've been on that trip between the Havens but we use a small aircraft! Up near Petoskey we have a small drop zone where we jump over Lake Michigan and Torch Lake than land on the dunes. Stunningly gorgeous from 10.000ft.

You're also right about the Michigan economy as well it's brutal but the thing is we've been dealing with the bad economy for 8-9 years not just the past 18 months like the rest of the country. I've been doing b2b since the early 1980's and it was pretty rough than as well with 14-15% interest rates, high inflation, high unemployment. I'vebeen specifically selling online direct response and web development here since 2004.

I learned early on that small business owners were in survival mode and not to spend my time and resource inefficiently. Especially when it comes to prospecting. Door knocking or cold calling usually leads to spinning your wheels and wasting time with people who aren't going to buy. So I learned to market in ways that put me in front of merchants that understand in a bad economy smart efficient online marketing could mean the difference between survival and actually putting their company in a position to take advantage and market share when would be rivals were going under. It's made all the difference. I also consider it my mission to help companies grow and prosper so they can employ my friends, relatives, neighbors and other Michiganders! How's that go? "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" and I'll add "Smarter and more efficient"

I remember in 2004 people in MI were talking about the so-called Housing Boom. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? You would see a 1 new home built every mile, and Michiganders were telling me they have never seen so much construction in their life. I was blown away.

Compared to IL where literally 10,000 new homes were being built in Naperville, IL every year and the city stopped issuing Permits because the city could not keep up with sewers, streets, and other infrastructures.

Yes, many business owners are in survival mode in MI. It seems like it's the ONLY mode they have ever known. I was in Holland, MI recently and was floored to see so many Fortune 500 co's, franchises, leaving MI. I swear the only jobs left are in Govt and those that service gov't.

I misspoke when I said my friends home was on the market since 2002, found out it's been 8 years since 2001 and has sat empty all this time. He refuses to rent it out, unbelievable.

I would like to try to use it for a wide area (south portion of one state) but there are several counties. Since its a limited domain license I would use the domain to represent the portion of the state.

Is there a way for me to split the "zoning" per se into cities. Like lets say "new york city coupons" was the site theme and domain, can I section them off into categories like "brooklyn coupons" or "queens coupons".

I want to check this to make sure people dont confuse the area the coupon is for, also to help the pages rank well in the search engines.

Also when will this wso finish, I am very interested, unfortunately finances are not permitting my purchase of this program.

Sure you can do that, we are not limiting where you can use Coupon Commando. We are limiting the number of licenses per purchase.

The general public will get one install per purchase, Warriors get three.

You can have your categories say anything you want.

JMG,

Version two will have the ability to hook up to an autoresponder
that uses double optin.

I am not sure I understand the OTO question, you can upgrade a Merchant
in the admin dashboard at anytime, tell me more of what you are thinking.

The Upgrade process to the new versions is such that the populated Data Base isn't effected and you'll still have all your merchants Coupons up and running the whole time. It won't change or delete what's already been uploaded. One of the reasons we've delayed launching Coupon Commando (I had the 1st version up and running in late February) was the stringent Upgrade Testing Protocols I've put in place. (Same reason I'm working all weekend to get the UK, Canadian and Australian Versions ready) The Upgrade process to Version 2 you'll find to be smooth as possible. Like Blase says "easy peasey lemonie squeezie".

The good news is it's working like it should.
I looked at the source code and we do have it set up
for five numeric characters right now.

We are working on changing it so it works with
Canada, UK, and Australia.

Usually coupons have an expiry date on them. Is there a way for the coupon to be deleted or put in the archives after it expires? Otherwise their could be lots of expired coupons showing?

Hi Shawn
We have a comprehensive Coupon Management ability in the Admin Dashboard as well as User Management. Edit and delete them at will. I am designing more Coupon and User Management tools into V2 which all Warrior WSO purchasers will receive at no additional cost.

As far as archiving I wanted to keep server loads as low as possible so I store mine on my PC. We've discussed this extensively within the team and when you start talking about archiving several 1,000 images and have the program installed on several sub-folders and sub-domains it can be problematic to keep them server side and still get load balancing for the PHP engine. So for now I preferred faster screen loads for site visitors. For V1 I have removed the "Archives" folder until I have more time testing that feature on different server systems rather than throwing it out for you guys to wrestle with. I'm sure I'll conquer those issues but I'd rather be able to keep that challenge in house for now.

Here's a link to the Border Plugin. It's a DLL file that you copy into the Paint.NET install folder on your PC. So if you installed it in the "Programs" folder on your hard drive you'd navigate to Programs>> Paint.NET >>Effects>> and paste the Border.dll in there.

To use the program click the Effects drop down menu in the top menubar and choose Render from the drop down menu there you'll see the Border menu click that and a menu will fly out. Use the menu sliders to choose your desired Border effect.

Hi Kara,

If you mean "header logo" = banner than the answer is yes it's very easy
to change.

We are working on other templates, and making custom templates for site owners.

At present there is no place for video, if a merchant purchase an upgrade
you can direct a coupon user to an external url which could show a video.

I am curious how where you thinking of using video in this application?
