It was the middle of winter. A blizzard was coming. They let us go home early. I got to the major interstate and the interstate was closed because of white out.

The snow was coming down heavy. I'm 1.5 hours from home facing the worst possible weather and the State Police were blocking me from going the only route I knew.

It took me over 3.5 hours, to make what normally took me 1.5 hours, to get home.

I can't even tell you how many times I almost wrecked. All I could think about was my then 1 year old son at home.

I would of at least told my manager about you, which is more than most sales people got. We were trained to get rid of them.

I love this and it can be applied to most any business! You need to be a "non sales person" in the eyes of business owners and this tactic achieves that perfectly. Once you cross over to " I am a sales person" land it is very hard to cross back over. This tactic allows you to set a non sales mentality from the start, when you need to the most.

The only thing I can think of as far as cost, would be business cards, but you should already have those or plan on getting them anyway.

I've read a lot of sales books, but I never read any that mentioned this tactic. I see that Joe Girard was in auto sales. He probably learned this tactic at his dealership, the same way I did. The technique itself is no secret. In fact any car salesperson worth his or her salt will know this technique. It's the way it's applied that makes all the difference. In this guide, you have my personal experience with it. By having this guide, it will cut down your learning curve on what to say and exactly how to apply the techniqe; something I had to fine tune and refine on my own while in the trenches.

Good question. You're going to want to use this method in person while talking to the business owner. This method will help you break the ice very fast with the owner and will completely disarm them; because you tell them you're not there to sell them anything. The beauty is, you're not lying. If you use this method, you're really not. Though, most of the time, you'll wind up selling to them anyway. Even if you don't sell to them, this method will get you some great prospects from the business owner who didn't buy from you.
