You could do this in any number of ways - in person, on the phone, using classifieds, using any type of online marketing, mailers, something I call "walk and talk" where you go into a business, hand them a card or flyer about the idea. Jamie Garside (Offline Gold Getta) just posted on his blog about how he made a proposal using a local business's IM function on their web site. Russ Reynolds teaches a methods in one of his eBooks where you can do this type of work with any business in any locale, without ever physically seeing the business owner. What Chris has outlined in this is a tool and source to accomplish the end product that is very easy to adapt and implement in a variety of marketing methods.

As I've discussed with Russ Reynolds, I personally thrive on the "face to face" interaction with business owners, but I may very well be the exception rather than the rule. I find that every business owner has a very unique story and since I'm very interested in people on a personal level (drives my wife crazy), I like to hear their story "face to face". Just last Sunday, we went to a local pizza restaurant after Church and I ended up spending 45 minutes at the end of our meal talking in depth with the owner of the restaurant. I then had to apologize to my wife, my daughters, and the couple we were eating with, but I set the stage for getting back together with that business owner.

You can do this as aggressively or as "low key" as you'd like. I guess the short answer is (and I'm not trying to be evasive here) it can involve face to face or telephone, but it doesn't have to. If you can sell without speaking to someone personally, then you can do this.

First off Steve, congratulations for homeschooling - my wife and I have done that for the past six years or so and our oldest daughter graduated this past May and started college this past Monday - what a culture shock that was for her. Regardless, you definitely possess much more discipline that most people do if you are homeschooling your children.

As I wrote to Ian, you can do this in a number of ways. We just "hired" someone to do our marketing in a nearby town (I say hired, but she's 100% commission) and she is a full time homeschooling Mom of three girls ranging from about six years old to sixteen years old. Plus, she teaches two days a week at a homeschooling program that her two oldest girls go to. Regardless, she is planning to do this a few hours a week to begin with as it gets her out of the house a few hours a week.

You could do this 100% from home, however, you may find yourself wanting to get out and meet some of these people occasionally as that will help you get to know them better and may even help you discover a very unique selling proposition (USP) that a business has. We discovered one of those last week when sitting with a client in their barber and salon.

You could start doing this using methods that don't require you to leave home though. If I were doing it that way, I'd probably start with businesses that I actually patronize because you would stand a better chance of getting that business owner's ear. I've bought a ton of tools from a local tool retailer, so I feel like I've earned the right to ask him for a few moments of his time to discuss what we can do for his online presence.

Regardless of your decision to buy this or not, keep up the homeschooling deal. Both we, and my business partner are homeschoolers and we wouldn't trade the time with our girls for all the money or "things" in the world. We both have a special relationship with our kids and I'm sure you do as well. This can be an excellent "diversion" from homeschooling when you need that adult interaction time.

Didn't realize the WSO went live as I've been working with Warrior Forum Support (for 3 days now) after I submitted the WSO. Apparently my paypal payment receipt went missing but I just got an email from the moderator Thomas saying the problem was fixed and now everything is approved.

Based upon what Chris has revealed, I'll also add this: All you have to do on this is sell the concept, collect the money, forward the details to the end provider, deliver the finished product to the customer, and finally watch their jaw drop as they experience the fantastic product you've delivered to them. The hardest thing you'll have to do is take the check to the bank to deposit/cash it.

Also, this is something that a client last week said he had been wanting to do, but had found the cost to be prohibitive and therefore had abandoned the idea. But, we were able to deliver it at a reasonable price and the quality was even better than what he had been shown by other providers, so he's once again excited about doing it.

And speaking of "in the middle" - remember all those cost savings commercials through the years for furniture, cars, and every other product under the sun. They all say "we're cutting out the middle man to save you money." Well this is something where you can be that middle man that is making the money. And no one can cut you out - so you can ensure you get yours.

Hey Peter. At the risk of sounding like a "tech support nerd", have you tried clearing your cache? I had trouble with an order link a few weeks back from someone else and that cleared up my problem. It appeared that even though I was hitting F5, Ctrl-R, and everything else I could think of to refresh my page, I was still getting the original page loaded. I cleared my cache and the order link worked great. Of course, if Chris's PM details worked, that is even better.

To answer your questions....I think the strategy is BETTER if your interactiving with business owners. However, you can involve another person (can't give it away too much) and split the profits down the middle.

Or can this stand on it's own 2 feet? Meaning a service sold by itself?

Not at all knocking this as it looks very good and if it is truly unique I am all over it I just want more clarification before I plop down 19 bones on perhaps a twist on something that has already been around in some sort or another.

There are no tactics to try to give the business owner something for free. Its taking a need that business owners already have... and providing a marketing service for them. And the best news is....you may only do 5% of the work....without you having to provide any of the actual service yourself.

And I'll give you a hint....the actual service is one of the cutting edge ways need to market today Not that it really matters anyway....as someone else is doing the work anyway


In terms of why you haven't seen the concept before...it will be self explanatory after you buy. Its really creative actually....and very simple (and effective) once you "see it".

What you share is something I haven't thought about before, yet it's starring us right in our face. I have thought of similar things, but maybe it's the way you write it that makes me really start thinking about it.

Many thanks again for the kind compliments Bob. Whats unique about this strategy is that is so simply stupidly easly that anybody can do it....your the classic middle person in the whole deal and smiling all the way to the bank.
