If most people saw the title to this article they'd probably start laughing. I mean how could a fat make you lose weight? Isn't fat the problem? Shouldn't we avoid it at all costs? In short it depends on what type of fat you're talking about.

If you mean the fat that's in fast food and snack cakes then the answer is a resounding "Yes". But not all fats are created equal. Some fats are good for your body. Others you can't live without. Take for example the omega 3 essential fatty acids. They're called "essential" for a reason. Without them, your body ceases to function. So to say that all fats are bad is absurd. It's certainly true in some cases, but definitely not all.

There's one fat in particular that truly can make you skinny. And it's a very unlikely candidate. What is it? Virgin coconut oil.

So, how does it work? I mean isn't coconut oil supposed to be one of those evil saturated fats? The answer is yes coconut oil is mainly saturated but it's nothing even close to saturated animal fats that are bad for the body. While a large steak can raise cholesterol and lower health, coconut oil has the opposite effect. It actually has a moderate cholesterol lowering effect. How is this possible?
