Vital For Virtual Real Estate Emporers, Sensational For Site Flippers And Ideal For Internet Marketers! WordPress is a wonderful platform for website builders, and for Google in particular it seems to be the virtual equivalent of a cake with an endless variety of tasty and unusual ingredients. Yet for those of us who need something adaptable enough to be served up quickly to the search engines on almost any occasion, and often with the minimum of notice, the icing on the cake can sometimes seem a little flawed. Yes, we're talking WordPress themes. These can make or break a site, and for search engines and surfers alike make the difference between encountering a flat and tasteless mass-produced sponge or an enticing confection that's been specially created for the event. However, with the right theme, it is possible to satisfy the surfers and feed the starving search-bots without spending hours slaving over a hot keyboard. As both a site seller ('flipper') and someone who builds and maintains a large number of my own WordPress sites, I've spent many hours trawling through themes in the hope of finding something that would fit the bill. For me, this would mean...
I've found a seemingly infinite number of bad themes during my search, and substantially fewer good ones. Some of these were very good, but all lacked at least one of the things that I felt I needed. It soon became clear to me that the WordPress fairy was not going to be waving her wand over my keyboard and giving me my ideal theme any time soon. So I built my own. Now available as the Abundance theme, it's stark naked in it's default form, but is readily capable of both the 'bare bones' configuration and the 'everything but the kitchen sink' look. ![]() I've got my custom fields for price and payment buttons too, which makes creating WordPress sites that offer digital products that much easier, and editing and maintaining them even more so. I primarily use DownLoadGuard code inside my own payment button fields, but I've created sites for clients which use PayPal code in the field, as well as two sites which have used the payment button code from WHMCS (a system usually used in conjunction with hosting reseller accounts) in order to integrate it with WordPress. Furthermore, where a digital product had two options (e.g. a choice between PDF and video, or between personal use and resale rights) there are enough custom fields coded into the theme to cater for both. You can also display payment buttons and prices at the bottom of pages instead of posts, in which case your prices will not be shown on the home page or anywhere else on the site. ![]() There are several widgetized areas available too - the Signup Box (traditionally where subscriber code goes, you can put anything you like there), two sidebars beneath it, a 468 x 60 banner area above and below the content area, a footer bar with room for four widgets and, on the posts pages, a 336 x 280 banner area inside the content on the top left. ![]() Use of all these widgetized areas is optional as none of them have any default content. If there isn't a widget dropped onto one, it won't be displayed. Likewise with any of the theme's featured areas - tick a box on the theme options page and the area will be displayed, leave the box empty and it won't. The options page gives users the opportunity to easily edit the appearance of the theme without having to mess with any of the theme files and the first image that appears in every post is displayed on the front page and in archives without the need to create custom fields, thanks to the theme's integration with the 'Get The Image' plugin. This means that aside from the occasional addition of article content, sites which use additional plugins like Amazon Autoposter to generate affiliate posts can largely be left to look after themselves. ![]() Although it's not shown in any of the examples above, you can opt not to display the horizontal menu, and just place a page navigation widget in the sidebar. Display of the search box and clock at the top of the page are both optional too. In a nutshell, the Abundance theme was created to suit me and my way of working and to make life easier for clients. Would these things suit you or make life easier for your clients too?
That all sounds very appealing, but there's more. Purchase of the Abundance theme includes...
You can see the theme in action at abundancetheme.com where it demonstrates itself with short pieces about the various features, and also at... The theme with developer license is normally sold for $129.00, but 100 Warriors only can snap up a copy for a never to be repeated $65.00. [YES] Can be edited, including footer links [YES] Can be used on all websites which you personally own [YES] Can be sold as part of a website package. [NO] Can be offered as a bonus or packaged with other products [NO] Can be added to membership sites [NO] Can be re-sold as a standalone WordPress theme [NO] Can be given away [NO] Can sell Resale Rights [NO] Can sell Master Resale Rights [NO] Can sell Private Label Rights [NO] Can claim authorship and copyright Discover an abundance of free time, an abundance of features and an abundance of opportunities to earn more money, more quickly. This looks really good. Does it also include templates for squeeze/sales pages? Completely stripped? (I didn't see that in my quick tour to the demo sites)

Hi Hans
All I do is use the 'no sidebar' page template, as shown here. It's the same width as the rest of the theme, so wider than most squeeze/sales pages, but it seems to produce much the same results. If for some reason I want the page to stand alone from the site it's attached to, I opt not to display the horizontal navigation bar and put a 'page' widget in the sidebar instead. That way, people can still browse the site, but there's no distracting navigation on the sales page. With newer screens getting wider as they come on to the market, I think many of the old narrower sales pages are starting to look a bit strange anyway. That said, however many bells and whistles it's got, the theme can't be all things to all people (I don't think there's a theme that can). If salespage-type sites form the majority of your WordPress activity, you'd be better off with a dedicated salespage theme. Most of my work consists of building the type of sites shown as demos, and the option of adding a sales page to them occasionally (even if it is a bit wider than usual) has been no bad thing. I hope that helps

Hi Diana
I like the look and am interested in the theme, however I have one concern. on the line you said "All I do is use the 'no sidebar' page template, as shown here" "Here" being the link, I went to see it. My concern was that if you take the browser (firefox) off maximize the text on the right side is lost as there is no bottom scroll bar showing. I often do not use maximize as I have lost sites by clicking on the X to close window and hit the wrong one. This also means that if someone has different screen resolution then 1024x768 might suffer same fate is this likely to be addressed in any update? |

That's great!
I take it you will be providing updates (if required) when new versions of WP are released? I also have same concern as pro-jv above, but would it not be possible to create a sales letter page template stripping out the php includes for the sidebar, footer, header, etc and creating css to format as sales letter? scorpio9 |

Thanks SO much for spotting that one. It should be sorted now. I've uploaded the new code, and for those who've already bought, your download links should be good for a few hours yet so just download again and you'll get the corrected version. Scorpio - I use the theme myself extensively (almost exclusively), so it's in my own interests too to update it if something like a new WordPress release breaks it. Everyone who's bought the theme will of course get the update too. On that note, I'd just like to remind those who buy to sign up to the updates list. Not everyone who has bought the theme so far has signed up, and it's the only way I can let you know if there is an issue like the one highlighted by pro-jv, and point you to the update. I'm too busy with my own stuff to be spamming you - promise ![]() As for the sales page, what you say is true, Scorpio. In fact, the theme did have a sales page template at one time. It was much narrower than the 'no sidebar' page template, but for reasons that I can't remember, this (as well as a 'review' type page template with star ratings) seemed to confuse clients so much that I dropped them. They may be reinstated one day, but the theme's code has changed a fair bit since then and I have a lot of work on right now, so can't see it being soon and am making no promises. Thanks again, pro-jv. Much appreciated

Looks like a great theme. Quick question. You mentioned much of, or all of the layout, is edited through the admin, without editing files. Is there also a CSS sheet that can be edited as well?
I ask because I used a theme once that was edited as you mentioned, but that was the only way it could be edited and I never could edit other parts of the theme/layout because there was no CSS sheet to mess with. Does that make sense? |

Good morning, Ron.
Yes, like Melody says, it does have an accessible CSS file. Your question made perfect sense to me. I hit a similar wall with another theme once, only it was a 'functions' file that didn't seem to know what it was to function ![]() I bought a package of your articles too - from your store a couple of weeks back. I found it via Google search and didn't realise it was yours until afterwards. I can't remember the topic, but the articles were top notch and I'd recommend the store to anyone. |

Hi Ron
As far as I can remember (too many late nights and a distinct vacancy between the ears tonight) an e-mail inviting you to subscribe via Aweber should have gone out to you when you purchased (Download Guard is configured to do it that way). Your inbox is obviously too good for them. PM-ing you a link to the sign-up form now

I've been playing with this theme on a few sites now and the amount of features is really crazy for the price. By far one of the most flexible themes I've ever used.
And Diana is quick to respond and help out too. Highly recommended! Tony |

I don't see why not, Dean. I set up most of my own clients' installations with it (as well as my own). It's no different to any other WordPress theme, really. Apart from being better SEO'd than many, easier to manage, quicker to edit, simpler to integrate payment buttons and prices into if you want them, faster to get images from the posts onto the home page without using custom fields... no different at all
![]() Let me know if there's a particular feature of the theme or your business which might cause problems. I can't think of one though. |

Hi Diana,
Just two questions please. 1. Sometimes my clients buy a site from me and later sell it to someone else. Are there any restrictions in that regard? 2. I sell WordPress WSOs (see my sig please). Is it okay to use your theme to sell my WordPress WSOs? Jeffery 100% :-) |

Hi Jeffery
![]() 1. As a recipient of your site, your client would be a single user license holder. In order to sell the site on, either your client would have to buy a developer license for the theme or their own buyer would have to buy a single user license. This is only fair to those who've paid for a developer license, which would be significantly devalued if everyone else who had a copy of the theme installed on a site was simply allowed to sell it on. There would then be no difference between the developer license and the single user license, leaving those who've bought the developer license feeling justifiably short-changed. 2. No problem at all

I purchased this morning. I can see that this will be the WP theme that I use almost exclusively, too. If I had the ability to create my own theme this would probably be it. I too have used many themes and the problem with them that I see is they are not created by people who know about IM or with internet marketers in mind. Thanks for the wso and I'm looking forward to any upgrades you come up with in the future.

I finally got around to messing with the theme and really like it. It is bare bones by default, but that's good, because I can make it how I want. Also, really not that hard to set it up. After the first time, it will be a breeze

On your demos It seems like the images on the front page are the same size as on the single page post. Does it automatically resize the images for the front page? Say the image is 300 x 200, what will appear automatically on the front page?
One problem I have had with free magazine themes is the images need to be manually re-sized, and if some auto-blogging is done or scheduled posting the images get messed up. |

Hi there, alloo. Apologies for not spotting your query sooner.
Yes, the theme does automatically resize the images for the front pages (as well as search and category archives etc). Originally the images in the these places were always 150px square, which works well with plugins like Amazon Autoposter. However, when people began using the theme with WP-Robot it soon became apparent that WP-Robot's Amazon images are fetched via a different method and the majority of them aren't square. Because these images don't pass through the WordPress uploader, they won't be cropped square either (not necessarily a bad thing) and so of course they were distorted when forced into the 150px square that the theme had allotted for them. Due to this, image height is now 150px and a proportional width is automatically calculated. This means that square images of any size in posts will be displayed at 150px by 150px as before on the home page etc, while rectangular images will be 150px high by (proportional)px wide. The 300x200px example you give would show up on the homepage as 225x150px. Very occasionally when using WP-Robot, an Amazon image will turn up in the feed that's too wide for a narrow spot on the front page, in which case backdating it will see it drop out of sight to be replaced by something that looked tidier. It can still be seen in search and category archives, but these are plenty wide enough to accommodate it. If it turns out that the images being returned by WP-Robot for a particular site will always be substantially wider than they are high (perhaps because you're selling DVD players or keyboards), you can edit the Get The Image plugin file so that width is 150px and height is the dimension automatically calculated instead. Hope that helps

No reason at all, Chris. I've often used it with phpbay myself.

Hi Chris,
Aweber tells me you're subscribed now, so I take it this one sorted itself out. Let me know if you do have any problems. |

Hi Diana,
This seems to be a very powerful theme. I can imagine how many hours you spent on perfecting all the features. I wander if you offer any customization and set up service and what wouldbe your fee? Almin |

Sorry coolio, Alminc, for not responding sooner. I've only just noticed that Outlook hasn't been sending and receiving here (again) and so I hadn't had any notifications that there had been an addition to the thread.
I don't use ReviewAZON because it has no reseller license. I don't build every site to flip it by any means, but I do like to keep the option open to me. I've seen it used by others though, and there is nothing to suggest that the theme would not work with it. I don't offer any customization and setup service, but I'm always open to suggestions. However, the theme really is very easy to set up and customize, and I've had people tell me that they paled at the sight of the user guide only to realise how very easy it is after reading it. It's also something that could be outsourced to anyone with basic WordPress experience. I hope that helps. I'm off to have strong words with Microsoft Outlook now

I've used the other autoposting plugins you've mentioned but I really like ReviewAZON. I also like the features offered by your theme. However, I am a little concern with compatibility. Do you have a refund policy? Thanks. | |

I installed ReviewAZON today on this theme. I am still tweaking the ReviewAZON display template. So far it is working fine. One thing I have noticed is with the ReviewAZON post on the homepage the post does not have the "... read more" at the end of the excerpt. The other posts do have "... read more" at the end of the excerpt.
Would this be caused by the theme or the plugin? |
