I've actually given a few reasons above.

My favorite one though is support.

With Google, you can send an email and maybe get a response back in the same week. I've had requests take up to two weeks for a response. That's sad.

Don't get me wrong, I use Analytics for a number of projects - but for this, it would just be overkill.

Sure, you could use it and you could probably do OK with it. But when you just need the barebones information displayed in an easy-to-read way that's going to give you all the information you could need, the choice is easy.

I'm a little confused as to how tracking where your sign-ups / traffic come from using Brad's technique will save time. Can you please explain a little more? I mean, isn't much of it random and traffic can come from just about any of the actions that Brad describes?

I'm just trying to understand how this will save time and allow us to focus our time more effectively.

Hey Susan,

Once you start driving traffic, you'll need to start watching it closely. Some websites are going to send you a whole lot more traffic than others - and those are the ones you're going to want to focus on. But, if you don't have that information available to you, or it's given to you in a confusing and unsortable way, you're going to spend a whole lot more time on websites that don't send near as much traffic.

So, if you find a website that sends 50 visitors for every action you take on it, wouldn't you rather use that website as a main source of traffic rather than spread yourself thin across many different websites?

It gets loaded onto your server - as long as you're running the site that Brad gives away, all you need to do is modify the vars.php again (super easy) and upload a few files.

It can be done in about a minute and a half.

One nifty feature, that very few statistics suites offer is that it will be able to track what is being clicked on on your website.

So, if an image is clicked, it'll be tracked. If a link is clicked, it'll be tracked. I'm working on the details, but most elements will be trackable like this.

Very easy to install and is really all we need in terms of data. One thing that concerns me is that I see a discrepancy when comparing to Google Analytics. It seems that Google doesn't capture all of the traffic sources (or maybe there is a delay). Have you experienced this?

1) Are you saying that your stat counter will give us more information than Google Analytics?

2) I've been using WP Super Cache for a while to speed up page loading but it messes up my stats by showing that I get only about 1/4 of the traffice that I really am getting. I use the plugin WordpressStats to check that stuff so I don't have to go into my cpanel. I googled the issue and others have the same problem with that WP Super Cache. I have also checked my stats in my cpanels with the hope that WP Super Cache won't mess those stats up too but it does. Will your stat thing give me more accurate traffic stats or am I stuck with innacurate stats as long as I stick with WP Super Cache?

Google has a 24 hour delay on their statistics, so that's probably what the issue is. My script shows up-to-the-minute statistics.

1. Google gives you more statistics, but most of it is unusable for what we're doing here. What my script does is give you the information you need the most and nothing more.

2. I've never actually used WP Cache, so I can't be sure - but my program catches every single hit to your website and tracks it. I don't have it set up to work with Wordpress though. It could be modified, but that would cost extra.

The time is pulled right from your server, so if you need to change the time, you'll have to talk with your web host. In a future version I may change this though.

If you really reeeeeeally think I will get totally accurate traffic stats even when using the WP Super Cache Plugin (because I currently don't), then you really ought to consider making this into a WP plugin Chris. One of the things a lot of people are doing with WP plugins is to offer a free full featured version that has a link back to your site (Your site Chris). If we want to lose the link to your site then we have to buy the paid-for version.
