James, just a quick question on implementation. Some of the other solutions I've seen require you to post code on every page of your site. That's not hard with WP blogs, but is a different situation with an html site. Does your script require code on every page?

If you have an html static site, yes... There is no solution that can be made without you editing your files, I know.. I tried using a great deal of .htaccess to get around this and there is just no way around it.

My solution will work with any site, as you pointed out it is easy to use as it only requires one line of code to be added - But html sites, I am sorry may take some time if you have many pages.

Added: I do not deal with html software editors as I hand code all my stuff.. But I thought something like BBEdit or XSitePro had mass file find/replace ?? If it does then you could easily edit all your files in one go and then upload..

I create my static sites with dreamweaver, using a template file, so one simple change will change the whole site all at once. Other html editors may allow you to create master templates as well. For any purpose, it's the wise way to go if building a large static site.

On the HTML sites, what about adding the code to a footer file or sidebar? I use XSP and every page on the site shares the same footer/sidebar, unless I disable it for specific pages. Could I add it there instead of individually to each page?

Yes you can add it to the side or footer.. I suggest the header (especially if you have a slow loading site). The reason why is because on all sites your header is what loads first and having the code close to the top will load it instantly.

Again though you can add it to the side or footer, just know that it may take a few seconds longer to load.

Also will post this info since you have asked. On WordPress blogs I know some have suggested adding some js code to the footer and I disagree with this. You can easily go to your header template file and add the 1 line of code.

I would like to clarify something that was posted about my Block SideWiki solution.

Both solutions use JavaScript to prevent comments from being seen. Even though their product packages the JavaScript inside a PHP file, it is actual JavaScript that is sent to the surfer browser.

Block SideWiki does NOT rely on javascript to run its blocking abilities as the above states. This is a false and misleadng comment about my Block SideWiki solution.

My Solution only uses javascript to detect the # symbol and nothing more. BlockSide Wiki is built completely on php and mysql and ajax and uses cron. It is an advanced solution that is custom built for scaleability and advancements and does not use free open source code.

I chose not to use a full javascript solution as the other ones on the market because you can still see the comments with the javascript solution.

I just watched your video and tried looking for the comments you left in the sidewiki on the Warrior Forum and I could not find any comments.

I am sorry but they are there and the url can be shared for anyone else to see. The video posted shows the truth, it is not fake. I do not lie! As I have posted on this forum before. I created that javascript solution the very first day google sidewiki was announced but I trashed the idea because I do not put out half finished products.

I produce high quality products, thus why I spent the time to build a proper blocker that is not based on javascript.

I was asked in this very thread to show proof, so I have. If I was not attacked on my own WSO and harrassed in PM maybe I would have never posted the video to prove it.

My solution does not allow the comments to be seen, the javascript solution does.. Yes that is very important and again thus why I created a php and mysql solution because javascript cannot fully block comments.. It is impossible.

No you do not need the hash code at all to see the comments. This is the entire point, I have been developing websites for over 15 years and I have developed some of the most complex websites online. I have sold sites in excess of $30,000 and that was just for the coding and design of the site to be built.

I spent a week to develop this solution because it is the best solution for the problem. I do not take peices of code from other sites and try to slap them together to build something. I build everything from 100% scratch and I use SimpleText (that is the mac version of like notepad) to code everything by hand.

Ok then, one last question and I will leave you to your work. I am not a coder or technical person by any means - but why do I not see the comments in sidewiki on this site? You clearly showed leaving comments - and I would imagine there are others all over this site. Where are they?

There are 10,000's of post on this forum as is expected, it's a huge forum.. Even as Allen pointed out himself, there is no way he could check every single page and report them.

This is what makes SideWiki so very evil and especialy for large websites with 10,000's of pages. Not even google could moderate billions of pages on the internet even if those comments was reported.

Hmm...that doesn't sound correct....how bout you put in a super secret comment share the exact url, and let me tell you if the super secret comment can be read or not. I should not be able to tell anyone what you wrote. Is that the claim?

If I can read it, should I include screen shots just so you don't think there is any thomas foolery going on?

I was unable to see the link in your video, and you showed the comment in your video. My repeating the comment doesn't prove anything.

I thought you were only going to show the "URL" and digitize out the comment, and then later (only after I am able to tell you or not tell you, show the video with the comment not blocked out.

I posted the video to prove that my solution does work while the javascript solutions are limited and do not fully work. I do not have a javascript solution with hash numbers, my system uses keywords that the admin can add (comes with 7,000+ keywords) anytime they wish and those keywords once used can not be pulled back up.

Because my system uses a database I can control the keywords and as I said once used they can not be used again which means they can not be pulled up as the database sets them to used. If you attempt to pull up a used keyword it will just replace it with another unused keyword.

We are all aware that the comments can be seen elsewhere (such as ones profile). This is not the point of blocking sidewiki, the point is we block users from seeing the comments next to our sites. Thus lowering the damages done to our sites by spammers and others that may do worse than just spam.

With that said the system will be improved upon when needed and block google's evil no matter what...

I never asked for the username or profile, in which you are making the comment. Don't give out the profile, or the comment, and just provide the URL. If it works, I will tell you it works, if it doesn't I will post the comment and the username you created to leave it. Actually, I will post a screen capture photo too.

I already know you can not pull the url back up, you are assuming I am using javascript or something but I tell you that I am not using those free open source code scripts. My script is already running on many other customers websites and the comments can not be pulled back up because once the keyword is used it is no longer any good.

I have been building and coding websites for over 15 years, I do not use free open source code or code obtained from other sites. All my scripts are custom coded 100% from scratch and tested.

I do not know your purpose on posting on my WSO but you made similar post in the main forum on other threads about their blockers. I think you are getting close to the borderline of stepping over the rules. You are not a customer but yet you keep on posting on blocker threads.
