Hi Big JP,

Yes spot on. There is built-in footprints for Wordpress and Movable Type, to save you remembering or worrying about footprints for those. You can also build your own "Footprint Library" for finding article directories, forums or any type of platform or for various research as you can see here:



You can store whatever you want in this dropdown. It's pretty flexible, you can use the Wordpress checkbox plus additional footprints in the drop down to target things further like only getting .gov domains or language domains like this example:

Hello netgain1,

Thank you, yes of course it's a great app.

It has a bunch of common useragents internally that get randomly rotated upon every connection, so you don't have to do anything or even worry about those it's all handled automatically. There is a few reasons for these, one is to eliminate any "identifiers" to prevent blocking and so a ScrapeBox connection is no different to a person/browser.

The other is if you want to artificially generate traffic, for example:

Note how it's different IP's, computers and browsers? That's all ScrapeBox.

Pagerank, i'd assume they are showing PR N/A because they are PR N/A URL's. Without knowing the URL's you are trying to check i can only guess, but if Google temporarily blocks you from checking PR ScrapeBox will pause and tell you that. As you didn't mention this happening, i can only assume the URL's are actually PR N/A.

If that's not the case, feel free to PM or Email me the list and i will run a check with the packet monitor and see.

As for posting, yes the harvester and poster work in conjunction. You can harvest Wordpress URL's by ticking the Wordpress checkbox then post to those. Same with the Movable Type platform.

Of course you can use the harvester for many things like gathering lists of article directories, to gathering your competitors backlinks from Yahoo.

Thanks very much for the kind words, ScrapeBox has certainly grown a lot and gained many new features in the few short weeks it's been out. Almost time for the price to go up.

I don't have a .pdf as the users guide is online, you are welcome to take a .pdf snapshot of the pages as an offline copy.. Or i can do this and upload it for you.

Regarding the text files used, have you taken a read of the tooltips on all the buttons and inputs?

Will Scrapebox limit harvesting after the 1000 url mark? I use a tool to harvest sites with footprints but they never go behind the 1000 mark.

This is quite frustrating as some footprints give hundred's of thousands results if one checks them in the serp's.

Banks can you come up with a way to verify how many links posted without moderation? It says success but when I goto the url my comment does not show. It would be cool if it could automatically tell you how many comments were immediately posted.

There is 2 videos i posted in the thread earlier, some documents online and i'm working on a few more. The majority of folks don't even read them and take to the tool like a duck to water and say it's pretty intuitive.

However, a few have had problems understanding mainly with the text files you load but there's example files showing the exact formats. Here is some more screenshots i just done up which shows the lists:

Sure, if you have a list of blog post URL's you can load them in just one URL per line is the format in a regular text file. For example:

blog1.com/some-post
blog2.com/another-post
blog3.com/?p=123

Include the http and www, i left it out so the examples don't hyperlink.

If you check them in the SERP's there might be millions.. But Google, Yahoo & Bing don't permit you to get any results beyond 1,000 even manually.

So the tool you are using isn't at fault, and ScrapeBox has the same limitations. The "only" way you can get more is re-query your keyword and use minus operators on the domains you have harvested in the first 1,000 to exclude them for example:

keyword -domain1.com -domain2.com

And so on, which isn't practical or possible adding 1,000 minus domain operators so it would have to be done in batches and involve tons more queries and calculations.

Yes, this is being worked on right now along with a few other surprises.

You can search for anything at all, just like the Google search box. The picture in my original post is harvesting the pages on Amazon with a site: search for example.

So yes, you can use Article Dashboard footprints, Joomla footprints etc. ScrapeBox doesn't post to these, but you can use the harvester to gran URL's for other tools and research.

Hi Nekko,

Thanks for the kind words, glad you like the tool.

I'll admit, i'm no expert on proxies. However i believe Elite or High Anonymous would require the use of a dedicated PHP script running on the web like judges in Charon.

The goal of the proxy checker in ScrapeBox is to determine if a proxy is dead or alive "plus" if it's suitable for Harvesting/Posting through. It does this in 2 ways, a simple Ping to first see if it's alive then if it is alive does a quick query to Google and fetches a unique piece of text from the Google page.

This confirms it's alive, routing properly and not blocked from from queries so for now it's everything ScrapeBox needs.

Charon fills the gap for a very comprehensive proxy checker (it's free and can be found on Softpedia), but i won't rule out more options/features finding their way in to the ScrapeBox proxy checker in the future.

You can already use footprints to find blogs that are often Dofollow such as "CommentLuv" and several others. These aren't always dofollow, but often they are. There's also quite a few blogs on the Movable Type platform that are dofollow, i guess it's because (as far as i'm aware) no other tool can post to it besides ScrapeBox.

A fairly big update under the hood, ScrapeBox now has a second alternate posting method which is a little slower but still automatic and allows it to parse Javascript/Cookies and get around many auto comment prevention "reasons".

For future updates: Be possible to make upgrading system so software doesn't have to be rerun each time, old files deleted? Is there any way to do updates through app. I loose my custom footprints on every update plus text files get moved around.

It would also be great if a right click on posted URL's could open up browser window, like harvested URL's to see blog with comment? Sorry, may be too much to ask.

With the updates, ScrapeBox doesn't need installing and makes absolutely no changes to your computers files or registry.. It's essentially a single "Portable" .exe you can just run, and it doesn't rely on .net framework.

So when you update via the app (screenshot) it downloads the .zip to your PC.

You can just extract it, and copy the new scrapebox.exe and overwrite the old one and you are done and updated ready to go. You can just discard the example files and .ini files from the new update and continue to use your own.

It would also be great if a right click on posted URL's could open up browser window, like harvested URL's to see blog with comment? Sorry, may be too much to ask.

1. Allow for selecting multiple text success lists (as I export to a new txt file after each run)
2. Allow the ability to export a list of urls where the link was found (so that I can bookmark and ping it)

Also it would be nice if there was a preference to turn on that would let scrapebox automatically trim duplicate urls and domains for you maybe a checkbox that stays checked even if you restart the program (as sometimes i forget and have to stop)

Thanks for the kind words, and yes i also agree the latest feature in particular is very useful. It can turn an hour of opening URL's and checking sites in to the click of a button.

With the automatic duplicate URL and Domain pruning, when you harvest it does automatically remove duplicate URL's. If you harvest from Google, Yahoo & Bing for the one keyword and a URL ranks on all 3 engines it will only be added to your list once.

As for a checkbox to always do this, i'm not too sure. The opposite situation may occur where people want same site URL's and forget to uncheck it and have them all removed incorrectly.

We will have to see what happens, at the moment space on the interface is at a premium but i will put it on the possibilities list.

Sorry for the misunderstanding melanied, no posting for the moment is just for the Wordpress & Movable Type platforms. A few other users have expressed interest in BlogEngine as well.. There is nothing concrete planned for this, but other platforms may wind up being supported in the near future.

Update v1.3.2

* Added ability to Export Found, Not Found and Server Error URL's from Link Verifier.

So basically now you can load a huge list of URL's, automatically verify if your URL is listed on each site and export the results.

This is great for verifying link exchange partners or paid link lists to ensure they are all linking back to you. Also if you use services that promise to submit your site to a large list of other sites/platforms and provide you a report.. You can load the file and check your link is actually published on the websites.

I'm afraid you will have to pass that question directly to Google, Yahoo & Bing because they limit results to 1,000. If you go back up the page a few posts, roukarous asked the same question and i explained and demonstrated how it cannot be done if you click this and see my response.

I purchased your impressive software, and I really enjoy working with it.

I am missing a way to check/test the execution of the spin syntax for the text files for content, names, emails, websites. Especially with the content text, it might be useful to view / test some of the output. At this point, it is set up as a blind fly.

While testing the software "froze" after I click the "STOP" button. I restarted the script and it was working fine again.

The script executes very fast. 5.000 URLs in some 2 minutes - wow!

I am not familiar with "Ping" and "TrackBacks" and so I did not understand the help text you post on your web site. Do you have a more in-depth "How to" - manual available for the "newbie" with this kind of functions?

Overall I am totally happy that I have purchased your software - thank you!

I will paste here what i mentioned to someone else with the same question. But also if you ever have problems, you can always submit a support email and as long as i'm not asleep i will reply fairly quickly and will be happy to help you.

I've walked quite a few people through using the software and now they have it mastered, any problems like bugs and suggestions have been implemented same day.

Some things may be a little difficult to comprehend for users not familiar with such software.

ScrapeBox does complex things, and easy things it has many tools. For example submitting your feed to over 100 RSS Services requires loading a file with your RSS URL, loading the provided file with the RSS Services and clicking a button.

So that's simple. Checking Pagerank is simple, you load a list of URL's and click "Check Pagerank", cleaning a list of URL's is almost the same.

Harvesting is quite easy, if you can use Google you should be right with this.

Posting to blogs.. This requires loading 5 files, and is a little more involved. However all the buttons and check boxes have tooltips that pop-up and tell you what each is for.

So i guess some things you will need to tinker with and find out how best to use them effectively. A few users have been overwhelmed at first, but with a few support emails back and forth they have mastered it.

Yes true, most people use Power Article Rewriter or similar tools which allows you to preview the many iterations of the resulting text. However i can see this may be an issue if you don't possess such a tool.

Leave it with me, i'll see what i can do.

If you ever have a problem like that, don't hesitate to submit a support email and let me know more details about what part of the tool you were using, and how i can replicate it.

Sometimes it's bad data or URL's in one of your lists, or it could be the tool itself.. Either way filtering can be added to stop it.

That's ok many people are unfamiliar with what Trackbacks are, have you taken a look at the Trackback page in the usage guide and the example files in the trackbacks folder?

Also with the Ping, do you mean the RSS Ping to submit your site to the 100 RSS Services.. Or the "Ping Mode" that sends hits?

Amazing software, I purchased it today and am sure I will be using it a lot in the future.

A quick question though:
Do you think you could include an additional .txt field called "anchor text" or something on the blog commenter portion? This portion would allow the user to upload a .txt file with html formatted links (<a href="http:......">anchor text</a>) into our comments.

Then for the comment area we could just include a variable like $anchor.

That would be an amazing addition and probably pretty easy to implement! I would probably purchase another three copies for my team if that were the case!

but being a newbie i think it will help if you could some how make a simple guide for people who don't understand the language of proxies and those unfamiliar words LOL. which i think will make most people reading this thread want to buy it. personally i think the big words and explain in hi tech language is holding some newbies from buying it. that was my reason for not getting it sooner. but i am glad i did buy it.
so a simple step by step maybe video or just an article of some sort will be helpful. i can not explain it very well but let me try;
a simple guide like this:
"first you need to change the comment poster folder and in each folder enter this and that.
then your ready for using the comment future, so
1- enter some keywords that you want to comment on related blogs
2- import proxies ( a little explain of how and where to get more. i know its laughable to some but keep in mind we all were new to it one day and the word sounded very confusing)
3- hit harvest
4- import your comment and email and etc from the comment poster folder into it and hit start posting.

and so on. of course a little detail and simple to understand info about each and why and how of them would be helpful to newbies.

Yes this is possible, and it's been added on the to-do list. At the moment the harvester is being totally rewritten from scratch to to use internal API keys etc to be far better than the current implementation.

It's a lot of work, but once that's out of the way the HTML input can be looked at.

one thing i must say is its not that hard to get around it, i mean i am a total beginner in this and spending few minutes on my own, made me very familiar with the software and how it works. so all and all i say don't hold back. its a good software that if you know what your doing its great and even if you are a newbie like me you can learn the ups and downs of it pretty quick. so its a big yes for me.

It is a very powerful tool, that can do a whole host of things.. Writing guides for it is like writing a guide for a Swiss Army knife there will never be enough. For instance i done the dedicated page on Trackbacks, with screenshots, example files etc and i still get questions like "How do i use Trackbacks?"

So in a way i prefer to work with the user, and answer their questions directly and help this way like i did with your email that came in a little while ago.

Excellent, and yes experimentation is good to do because many users have found clever uses for ScrapeBox not even i knew or thought about.

It seems I have been lazy not to check the User Guide completely. I found the extra web page for TrackBacks. I understand it now.

There are other features that would be very helpful:

1) Output an information message if Google halts the search and asks to enter a captcha in order to start search because Google noticed a robot.

2) Output an information message if Google does not perform the search at all (temporary ban)

As it is now the script keeps on working and one cannot be sure what is going on while one has the impression the script is working still, but Google halted.

This is especially true if one uses proxies. It seems Google notices proxies very often and halts the execution of the search.

Once again, thank you for such a outstanding software. I highly recommend it.

This one will be implemented, the harvester is being totally rewritten right now and is about 85% complete. The new one will use a mixture of randomly rotating API keys (this will be invisible to you so no extra settings) plus it will also scrape the front end.

So it will enable everyone to pull far more URL's using the one IP address with Yahoo & Bing especially than could be done before and make being blocked far less of an issue.

It's a lot of work, but once that's out of the way the HTML input can be looked at.

someone in this thread asked about a future that will allow you to see what comment have been posted immediately and you said you are going to work on it. how ever my question is whats the average time it takes for the comment to show, because i checked many blogs that it said the comment were left but i couldn't find my comment? i tried to check in an hour latter, hours and then today since last nights posting but i still don't see anything? i don't know if i am doing some wrong or is it some thing else. thank you.

Thanks very much, that's something i do my absolute best to go above and beyond with. I know myself how frustrating it is to buy a program, send several emails over a month to the owners/developers and hear nothing.

I'm not sure if you are checking the blogs manually one by one for your link, but ScrapeBox can do this automatically. Here is a screenshot, you just click on "Check Links", then load the file with your website URL in the first active box (Website.txt), then load the list of blogs in the bottom active box (Blog List.txt) like so:

With approvals, a small percentage will be instantly approved and go live right away. The bulk will be approved after about 72 hours, then the remainder will be approved over the following week(s).

There are a lot of blogs out there that are abandoned, marketing/review type blogs, autoblogs or scraper blogs running on autopilot etc. These type of blogs you might successfully post to, but the owner will never approve comments regardless and just let thousands build up in the dash board. I'm guilty of this with old projects/experiments i rarely ever log in to.

Then there's also a percentage of blogs that are 404 or have various errors that cannot be posted to.

So that's a very rough break down of what happens, and what to normally expect. This means if you post to 1,000 blogs, there may be 100 that are 404, another few hundred that fit in to the "autoblog" category, another percent with Recaptcha or similar which means your not really posting to 1,000 blogs you have a chance of your link appearing on.

But the commenter is pretty fast, so you can just take this dampening factor i guess you could call it in to account when doing up a list to post to by collecting more.

Also your comment plays a big role in your comment being approved, plus your site you link to in your comment. A lot of blog owners do actually check your site before approving your comment (you should see hits from /wp-admin/ in your stats) so if the site linked in your comment is spammy this can also lower comment approval.

But hopefully this will give you a rough idea of the process, and what to expect.
