Having researched this a bit, if your country has an established tax rate treaty with the US the amount of tax you pay can be reduced as far as 0% depemding on the country. However, you will then be liable to pay tax on your createpace profits in your own country as self employed income (so for example, 20% in the UK so you would be "saving" 10%). As far as I understand it, even if you do this you STILL have to submit a tax return to the IRS every year. Can anyone confirm this?

Colin when you did your paperwork for tax did you have to submit a notarary copy of your passport? I saw this mentioned on the createspace forums and heard it costs £70!

Forgot to mention also that if you are a non US citizen createspace will only pay you your commission in the form of US$ checks so you will have to pay a processing fee to your bank to have these converted to your currency.

I think Jessica thought you were talking about the Cover Template. If you were talking about the page template here is what I would suggest. Just create an image in any graphics program you are comfortable with and save as a .jpg file and then drag it to the page template supplied by Jessica. You may have to do a bit of size adjusting to get just where you want it.

Once you have the image placed on the page, flatten the image and save it as a .psd file with whatever filename is meaningful to you and then keep reusing your new .psd file as your page template. That way the image is in exactly the same place when you create a new page.

A very nice and simple report. I am really excited to try this out with a book that I created about a year back and has been sitting in my hard drive. I have heard that the competition among physical book sellers is great so not sure how the marketing aspects turn out.

John,

You can't open a PSD file in Paint. You need either Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Paint Shop Pro, Fireworks, or Gimp to open them.

Just bought this and read the .pdf while I'm downloading the vids (yes, the pdf is VERY short) and I have to say I'm impressed, this is a quite exciting piece of work, perfectly do-able and doesn't look too difficult, which is just how I like things . Yes, you could publish a book on Amazon that you're selling elsewhere as an ebook, as long as you have the rights to that ebook.

if you purchase the system jessica shows you an easy way to put books together very quickly and with minimal effort. the system would also work with other methods including plr ebooks or anything else that you are probably already doing.

whatever method you choose i would simply go to amazon and type in the keyword you would target in your title and see what your competition would be and if your book could be of value to people.

one niche that i have decided to target has very strong competiton in google (several million competing sites for each sub niche) and would take months to get a site or blog into a position where i could possibly hope to see any returns. but each book i would write would have around 20 other books to compete with so i believe i could get on the first pages of amazon's book offerings pretty quickly, and start seeing some returns.

the possiblilities are truly endless.

I can't comment on the sales quoted. A lot of WSO's are good/ok in theory but the actual market isn't as responceive or willing to buy as the seller makes out.

Saying that, selling the quanities suggested isn't a strech of the imagination- at least one other person has said that they do similar numbers... and Amazon sell a ton of books everyday from their warehouse alone (I worked for Amazon in the UK for a while after finishing Uni).

I am really laughing my head off from this. It is true I do not have to explain to my husband all the other things I am trying to do. Oh my!!

Ok here is my question. Does this also help with a children book. I have like three written and I have no illustrator. I guess I can make money so fast with this and I love writing ( I can outsource the editing since English is my third language) and it is cool to introduce myself as an author.

And do you offer any help after I purchase and want to know more I guess this is asking too much for the price. I have to buy this one and see how to use it.

I purchased this WSO about 2 weeks ago. Got a writer to write the first book. I have not compile it yet though, stuck in a busy schedule.

The WSO is great! I can only post now as I just got myself into the WarRoom, so this is a late review.

Nonetheless, following this method, if you can have 100 books published (just get few writers to work on them), you can expect monthly income of $15K. This is a serious business worth hiring employees!

Quick update...

Finally got around to following Jessica's guidance after purchasing this gem a few weeks ago. Since I'm in Canada, I applied to the IRS as suggested. It's no big deal really. You simply fill out a form, get a notarized copy of your passport, along with the document supplied by the publishing house and send it off. Had mine out the door within 24 hours.

I used PageMaker to lay out the pages of my first book, since I already have this program. It was relatively easy. After having gone through the process once, my feeling is that you could use just about any program that can convert you files to PDF format. After submission, I was notified of a few problem areas. I then made the corrections and resubmitted. Just got approved, ordered a copy and within hours I was notified that the proof copy was already in the mail. Talk about efficiency!

This is a fabulous opportunity... and one I urge you not to miss. If you ever wanted to become a published author, while maintaining control of your work, with the very real possibility of earning far more than most of us could the traditional way -- this is it.

I asked her the same thing right after I bought this. There is no real reason, other than the fact that Jessica is comfortable using Photoshop and so that is the way she teaches it. I personally intend to use Open Office, and then convert the whole thing to PDF. It just seems like less work.

I haven't decided how to do the covers though. I don't have Photoshop, and don't intend to buy it. I have Gimp, but am not real comfortable with it yet. The site Jessica recommends has a cover creator; I might try that.

Couldn't Canadians just sell it on Amazon.Ca? And likewise, those in the UK to sell it on amazon.co.uk, therefore avoiding the US tax stuff (since its then country-specific)?

Or would that possibly hinder your income? (i.e., being that its not on the amazon.com)

Just a thought, since I noticed you *can* do the "Sell online" at amazon.ca.

Createspace only operates in the US and only lists your books on Amazon.com so if you want to use this method theres no avoiding the tax stuff (unless you want to pay 30% to the IRS).

Using Open Office works just fine. I've done it and it's easy that way. I do use Paint Shop Pro, simply because I have it, to manipulate graphics, and then insert them into Open Office.

You do not need Photoshop in the sense that this can't be done without Photoshop. Strictly speaking, you don't absolutely need any graphics program, though it is probably best to use one. Paint.NET, for example, is free and very good if expense is a problem.

I just didn't understand, and still don't, why to use a graphics program at all, except for the covers, of course. I do have PhotoShop, so that's not the issue.

I was thinking there was a reason to do it with a graphics program, maybe because there are so few words per page, or maybe because she wanted to put a stock graphic on every page anyway.

The key question, of course, is has anyone gotten any books sold using this method? The estimates are impressive, but I'm not confident they're accurate.

Yes, Jessica uses a graphic on the interior pages and I guess she's comfortable using Photoshop to do this. But graphics are not absolutely essential (although in the example provided, the graphic serves the purpose very well in my opinion).

I have so far submitted two publications (without using Photoshop). I suspect that any program will do and it's really a matter of what you happen to have... what program you are comfortable using... and to what degree you want to mess with details such as headers, footers, page numbers, graphics, bleeds, etc. I think most pros use Photoshop for graphics and a page layout program like Quark or In Design for the layout and design of books. But it's not necessary. As long as your submission meets the requirements, any program, including Open Office that can get the job done will work for you.

As far as results go, it will likely be a couple of months from the time the proof is approved before a check is actually received.

amazon pays once per month.....so at the very least from the time your book goes live it will take at least that long to get paid.

there are also some minimum commissions that must be met before you get paid......so imho 2 months to see your first check is not unrealistic.

the thing about this system is that it is a marathon and not a sprint. you have to put together A LOT of books to really see any kind of worthwhile income. jessica shows you ONE method of doing this....but there are MANY ways to skin this cat.

if you are looking for some quick cash this is not likely for you. if you are willing to take time to build this up as a business and work at it for a few months it can pay you for years to come because even after you stop writing the books they will still be on amazon and they should be selling.

Good to see a genuine offer. I will be buying this soon. I go from one offer to another looking for 'results testimonials', not the 'read it and liked it' ones. Many products are good reads and are no doubt informative, but don't show results beyond that.
