Dad’s role in childbirth – hint try and get this bit right!
We all know the role dad played in getting pregnant – hopefully he enjoyed himself a little! He has probably had a difficult nine months dealing with the side effects of having a pregnant wife. But the real challenge arrives when your partner goes into labour.
The first thing Dad needs to do is not panic especially if your partner has never given birth before. She is likely to be quite scared and expecting you to be the brave one. If your Mrs goes into labour during the night and this is very common, don’t complain about being woken up or perhaps getting wet. She can’t help when her waters break.
If she tells you that she needs to go to the hospital, pick up her packed bag and take her. Do not tell her to cross her legs and hold on until the end of the game. This is the time when your wife needs to feel she is at the very top of your priority list and is in charge. Treat her like the boss; it will only be for a couple of hours.
Show consideration for her. If there is a lot of traffic, apologise. Yes it is not your fault but it will gain you brownie points. Take it easy on the road and try to avoid anything that jars the car. She is in enough pain already.
If she is having a planned c-section, you still need to be caring and considerate. She is facing major surgery at a time when her emotions are already likely to be a bit frazzled. She will also be a little scared and looking at you to protect her. This can be a very daunting time for a man, especially one that doesn’t like blood and hospitals. Just concentrate on the outcome – in a few hours you will be holding your daughter or son.

Tips to help you lose weight in time for Christmas

3) Walk away those pounds
You knew that exercise would eventually come up. It is a rare story on weight loss that does not mention getting active. You do not need to join a gym though. Any form of activity that you enjoy will work although it does help to vary the routine. Walking is a great exercise – experts recommend that we should walk at least 10,000 steps a day, more if we are looking to lose excess fat. Not only does it help achieve a slimmer figure, it also builds bone density and helps protect you against breast cancer, heart disease and stroke. Now where are your walking shoes?
Swimming, running, cycling, roller blading are all great ways to get your limbs moving. Even, if the gym isn’t your scene, there is no excuse for not getting fit. Healthy eating combined with regular exercise is the only long term solution to losing weight.
4) Cheat!
If you don’t manage to lose the weight by Christmas then cheat. There are many clever things you can do that will make you appear slimmer. Dressing head to toe in the same shade can work. Now don’t go all black on me – yes it is slimming but it is also slightly boring. If you do insist on wearing dark colours always add a hint of colour to help raise your mood. Add heels to complete the look. Flat shoes add pounds to even the slimmest model.

More Tricks Your Credit Card Company Will Play On You!
We have already seen some of the tricks that credit card companies use to keep you in debt. Honestly do you still need proof that it is in their interest for you to remain a slave to your debts?
Prior to the credit crunch, these companies actively tried to recruit those clients who had poor credit scores. Why? They knew these people would be more likely to default, miss payments etc and the company could then charge them high fees. They also knew that these same customers would not have the ability to shop around for a decent interest rate. Most sensible lenders would not grant them credit so often they were relieved to be approved for any credit card and to a large extent ignored the double figure interest rates.
Credit card providers also closed people’s accounts or reduced their credit limits. You could understand if they did this to people who were late payers and not conducting their accounts properly. But it was the people who were clearing their balances in full every month who had their accounts closed. Why? They didn’t earn the company any cash so were not adding to their already huge profit margins. So the reward for people who managed their credit cards properly was to lose the facility.
Now we are in the middle of the recession what new tricks have they come up with? One of the nastiest is to write to those clients who have outstanding balances and advise them that their current annual percentage rate is increasing. Governments the world over are trying to reduce rates and most countries are still in single figures. But the credit card companies must be living on another planet as they have decided that the best way to help their customers out of debt is to significantly increase the rate of interest they are being charged.
