Let me give you a quick background on the idea behind this application. A neighbor of mine works as a writer for a local newspaper and sells articles to a couple of popular magazines. So seeing an opportunity to see how a professional writer does research for their writing, I asked if I could see how she goes about finding research information.

Needless to say, she agreed. She uses magazines, sometimes TV, but mostly the web. Specifically using the following sites: Yahoo Answers, Forums, About, and Wikipedia. As she reads through the content, she organizes and writes down the pertinent information into what is called a “swap file”. Of course, as she is going through the steps, I start writing the application in my head and the Content Swap File Generator was born.
