Does MembersGear support multiple membership levels? Also, can we use it for multiple, separate membership sites?

Yes, you can have several different type of memberships with one site. You can also use it for as many sites as you desire. Use MembersGear on one site, or several sites.

How does the Paypal processing through PayGear work? Does PayGear take a percentage of the sale?

MembersGear works with the PayGear affiliate marketplace. PayGear allows you process orders through credit card, PayPal, or Google Checkout. Transaction fees are about half of what our competitors charge. Plus, MembersGear customers can get a free $100 credit to PayGear, so we will process your first 50+ transaction for free. If you decide for whatever reason you dont like us you are not charged a single cent. |

This would be an awesome option for website flippers. They could include the free membership script with the sale of their membership or product site. All the buyer would have to do is change the PayGear credentials. |

Yes, that's a good call Daryl. I have also formed some JV relationships with a few mini site designers as well. Mini site designers can set up complete member sites at no extra charge and pass the $100 PayGear bonus on. Its a win win for all parties involved.

Ryan! Great deal! I have just signed up and downloaded the Membersgear script and the MailListPro plugin and watched some of the video tutorials. Looks great! The builtin autoresponder and email broadcast feature (the MailListProplugin?) would be very useful if they can be used just from my server without needing third-party services! Is that the case or would I still need an external autoresponder service? And free support and free installation for a free membershipsite script!? That's a good deal! (Although installation on the server does not look very difficult. If all goes according to plan!) Does MembersGear include the option of one-click-upsells? (Or will it in the future?) And can it be integrated easily with Wordpress or into Wordpress? Thanks Ryan! Wayne P.S: the MembersGear.com site is in my opinion very well done! |

Ryan, I have just watched the installation videos for MembersGear and the EmailListPro plugin. I am concerned about changing the chmod settings on some of the directories during the installation of the MembersGear script as instructed in the video. I have had some serious problems with my webhost due to changing permissions on some files. When I changed permissions on .php files to less secure than 755 in the past all my sites were shut down and I received a 500 server error. All my Wordpress sites were offline for until I discovered what the problem was - changing .php file permissions to 777. (All my static HTML pages were still accessible.) So my question is will changing the .php file permissions to 777 during the installation of MembersGear not get my sites automatically shut down again by my webhost's security system? Do the MembersGear directories and .php files really need to be changed to 777? Do they need to stay at 777? I am very concerned about this Ryan. Thanks! Wayne. |

Hi Wayne, No you do not need a 3rd party autoreponder, MembersGear come standard with a built in autoresponder that is more than capable of handling all your autoresponder needs. The list mail plug in is just an option which you can use if you like. Yes, we do offer free installation, although you are correct, installation is very simple. Can you explain what a one click up sale is? Currently it cannot be integrated with wordpress . If there is anything you would suggest to make the software better due let us know, examples are also good. This is version 1, we are always working on making the software better and we listen to our customer suggestions. As for permissions, I do believe permission 755 will also work, they files do not have to stay on 777. |

Hi Ryan, Thank you for the gift, which looks powerful. Does it allow us to give away 100% commissions on the front end and 50% on the backend? 1-click upsells would be, for example, after someone buys a $9.95 membership, before they go to the download page, they could be given the chance to get a lifetime membership for $97 - with one click of a button. That would be powerful to have that feature. Thanks, Dan |

It looks like it has a one-time-offer feature for new signups, which is essentially the same as a 1-click upsale.

HI Dan, currently commission structures are consistent, which is run by PayGear. However, I like the idea of different commission payouts, which we are already talking about implementing into PayGear in the next few months. Looking forward you should see many new features being rolled out and of course all are free. Yes, we have included an easy one time offer system or one click up sale which is very easy to set up and a video tutorial is included. |

Good news about the autoresponder and the file permissions! A "one-click-upsell" is a software feature that allows a customer to buy an extra offer after they have just provided and submitted their payment for the first offer. The important thing that differentiates it from normal upsells is that the "one-click" upsell allows them to buy the second offer without having to fill out another payment form and resubmit their payment details - the payment is added to the original transaction. So they only have to fill out their details once. This saves time and effort for the customer and increases the chance of them purchasing the upsell. (But this may not be possible through Paypal?) A one-click-upsell is a VERY useful feature that I would very much like to see added to MembersGear. (Some shoppingcart software does have it.) The other feature I would very much hope for the future would be integration with Wordpress and even integration INTO Wordpress or Wordpress into MembersGear. Thanks again, Wayne. | |

Ok I see, we do offer the easy OTO system, but one click upsales we do not. User must click once, then checkout again. I will look into it, but I am fairly certain as you stated PayPal would not allow this. But we will look into this.

Hello Ryan, I do not personally use any shoppingcart software. The one-click-upsell was championed by Ryan Deiss, Mike Filsaime and Russell Brunson (I think!) Someone did actually have a full list of recommended shoppingcarts with the feature (I think it was Ryan Deiss) but I do not remember where I saw it or which shoppingcarts were recommended. Sorry I can't be of more help! I just Googled one-click-upsell one-click-upsell - Google Search Interesting offer at One Click Upsell for Infusionsoft | Make Multiple Upsell Offers (apparently Matt Bacak used it.) And Frank Kern? https://www.upsellmastery.com/index.php?affiliate=0 (But I think I remember that the 1ShoppingCart one-click-upsell was not highly recommended - but please don't quote me!) Someone is offering a script for Infusionsoft. Now Add This! The One Click Up Sell Script for InfusionSoft API I don't know if this thread started by Brad Callen is of any use to you: Clickbank to add 1 click upsell :-) It seems from this thread that Ultracart, Nanacast and QuickPayPro may all have them: "1-Click Upsells? How can I do it?" Ultracart do have it according to this: Upsell After | Revenue Enhancement | E-Commerce Platform | UltraCart | Nanacast: Viral and Premium Account Training Clickbank also has it: One-Click Upsell Hope this helps! Good luck with your product Ryan, love to see the one-click-upsell added! Wayne. |

nouseforaname, you need to check the readme file, your server needs to be updated in some way. Your host can help you with that or you can check your phpinfo file.

Hi Zubair, the script is designed to run with PayGear. You can use it independently if you are giving out free products, but if you wish to process payments it is designed to work with the PayGear affiliate marketplace.

The templates are actually fairly easy to customize, we have a video tuturial on how to do that. Just paste in your new code and css and your ready to go. Logout button on paygear is in the top right corner.

I am about to use MembersGear on one of my most important projects, as a matter of fact, I have been breaking my head with WordPress and Amember, but this is so simple and straight forward - I am glad that I found it. Referring to your comment about JVs - how does a Mini site designer set up a complete member site and pass the $100 PayGear bonus on and make money? what is his benefit? - I am about to create a whole army of website developers (in India) with my membership site and would love to know if we can get into a JV? Hello Ryan, thanks for suggesting this great product , i am in the config panel , i keep getting errors such as : Forbidden You don't have permission to access /MembersGear/templates/agreement.html on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. and PEAR-Error MDB2 Error: not found: [Error message: Unable to bind to missing placeholder: 33] Fatal error: Call to a member function getMessage() on a non-object in /home/hairpie1/public_html/MembersGear/includes/peardb_class.php on line 108 that happens when i either tries to access templates for the first error and when i try to add products and click on submit at the bottom of the config form. i played around with my chmod but nothing works , can you help, thanks, John |

Hi Ryan Membersgear looks great but doesn't appear to have a drip-feed facility. Are you planning to add this? Alternatively, is it possible to have pages "hidden" and set up the autoresponder to email a link to one of the "hidden" pages every week or month? |

I have also formed some JV relationships with a few mini site designers as well. Mini site designers can set up complete member sites at no extra charge and pass the $100 PayGear bonus on. It’s a win win for all parties involved.

From what I am reading, it appears as if Membersgear makes its money from the kickback fees that paypal or the other payment services give. I don't have any problem with that, but I just want to confirm that that is what is happening, in case, in the future, we want to send the kickback to some other organization. Can someone please confirm. |

I find that Membersgear is a very powerful membership management software that is incredibly FREE! I have tried some of the WP Membership Plugins, but find them fastidious and lacking. Membersgear is a heavy weight in functionality, yet is very user friendly. There are helpful plugins for your autoresponders and for wordpress. I would say the following - that before you go and lay down some big bucks on a membership solution for your websites, you should give Membersgear a try. Don't let the "FREE" part make you think it isn't worth $299 or more, because it most certainly is! The support is great and quick - definitely before 24 hours. Full instructions and ample guides help you set everything up - everything! Just ONE warning: You need to understand what it is you are trying to do with your membership site. So you need to know what you want Membersgear to do and configure it accordingly. Do your homework first and you will save countless hours trying to figure things out. Comprehension is everything with this program! Once you get the mindset right, you begin to control the power of MembersGear. This is a complete system - definitely! It handles membership, access to pages, posts, parts of posts, drips content, downloads, secured html pages, integrates perfectly with Wordpress, Aweber / Imnica, plus others. You can also easily personalize the content for each member in a myriad of ways all using shortcodes or selecting a button (for protection options). WP Plugin and Autoresponder modules are not free but very reasonable and makes MembersGear a fully featured and powerful system. ALSO NOTE**** Your WP login username must be 5+ characters minimum in order for you to integrate the SAME credentials to MG - the result is when you logon to your secured site (now only possible via MG) it automatically logons into WP admin (VERY IMPORTANT!) The other note is that Paygear.com is the payment processor - it is NOT Membersgear. I was a dope in the beginning and I was trying to match things up with Paygear when it wasn't what I wanted to do. Membersgear is for membership sales on your site - Paygear is for payments and getting affiliates for your products (like Clickbank). So for most people, you need to keep the two separate in your thinking of how to configure your membership site with Membersgear. I'll post more updates to THIS post while I progress through setting up my latest site: SOCIRCIAL.COM "Social Marketing By The Circles!" |
