I'd have to partially agree with Mario that for a noob it will be difficult to make money fast. But in all honesty this should be seen as a long term thing. It's just another form of list building. Once you've got the databases, get an autoresponder and get them on your list ASAP. Then after that can anyone say kaaa-ching?!

I tried this and couldn't find a list bigger than 400 !!!! Thats not to say there aren't any its just not as easy as its made out to be in my opinion. Another reason could be previous purchasers have snapped them, you've got to be quick !!!!! Having said that this is unique and with time and effort you could build a nice list etc

There are millions of lists available and new ones are being dumped all the time.

The idea isn't just to get one large list. It's just as effective to have many lists with smaller numbers. I've used this and have 99 lists. It's taken a few hours but its still worth the effort. I've got some lists with 20 ppl on it, others with 500. Take what you can get, and the numbers will add up eventually.

Getting subscribers and lists is one thing. but it's all worthless unless you find a way to monetize it. Many of the subscribers you can get are not proven buyer groups, as I have found. So, it's all relative. So, don't be tricked by the ease you could build a list. Not any list is worth getting, what matters are monetizable lists!

It actually depends what you are using the list for. If it's targetted in a certain niche then you can monetize accordingly. For example if you get people interested in car insurance then you can send them CPA offers, or take them to your adsense site. Like any list you need to build a relationship first, and get their trust. You can make money from these people without them having to buy a thing. Just think outside of the box.

P.S. Those 99 lists I have actually are targetted in a certain niche, even though its so tempting to go all guns blazing .
