I believe this theme was offered by Newton as part of a website package, under the terms of his developer license. This listing is for a single user license for the theme alone, allowing the theme to be used on any/all websites that the user personally owns. Hope that helps. |

I've been using it quite a bit lately and it's an outstanding theme. It is very flexible, that's for sure, and Diana keeps tweaking it to make it even better |

The Christmas sale has been and gone now, but The Abundance Theme will be seeing the New Year in as version 2.0. This goes out automatically to those who've already purchased, so you should be even more pleased with the theme soon, Sylvester. Aweber permitting, details should be hitting your inbox around now |

Thanks for the updates! I own the developer's license version. It is the best theme. The Abundance Theme is extremely versatile, attractive, easy to install and maintain. I was struggling with free magazine themes until your wso's. And your updates have been great. The manual it comes with is easy to follow; the theme is actually fun to use. It is simple to tweak because there is a settings page in the admin/appearance area. When I mention the number of useable widget areas to other developers they are amazed. The featured areas, image handling, seo optimization, etc. put it at the top of the pack. Hope you had a great Holiday. -Will |

Thank you for the comments, Will. I'm especially pleased that the manual is simple and easy to follow. I've been using the theme so often and for so long that I could probably configure it in my sleep now and would hate to think I'm not being clear enough because of it for the people who wouldn't know where to start. That was all of us once. Like you say though, it's all in the admin area and dead easy. It takes longer to explain it than it does to do. I know what you mean about the theme being fun to use (although I thought it was only my inner geek that agreed with me!). I could mess about for hours coming up with new configurations and colour schemes for a site long after the design stage could have been over. It's far too much not like work! I had a great Holiday, and hope you did too |

This has got to be the best $10 I ever spent on any product. Warriors, you better hop on this offer while you can at this price. Or you can keep thinking about it, shuffle your feet, procrastinate like always...then decide you want it after all. If you miss out on this WSO you can always go to The Abundance Magazine Theme For WordPress (Diana's website) and purchase it there for an extra $49. It's a no-brainer, folks! |

Hi Diana, I'm playing with this today. I noticed there are just options for images in the header region. Is there some way to put a flash script there instead? Any suggestions on how to best do that? Thanks, Jill |

Hiya Jill, It used to be possible to put flash in the header, and it was only when I read your comment that I realised that it isn't anymore - that facility was lost when I made changes to the theme and gave it an image uploader. I have spent the last couple of hours working on a solution but am not quite done yet and am going to have to call it a night now as it is gone 3am here. A theme update was planned to go out on Sunday anyway to enable the option to use WP 3.0 menus where the nav and category menus are, and so it would make the most sense if reinstated flash headers waited until then too, as this place will be full of visiting family from tomorrow morning until Saturday morning and I will only muck things up if I put a rush on. Sorry I couldn't crack it tonight, but it was not to be. Will have it sorted by Sunday - promise ![]() Best wishes, Diana |

Diana, I just bought this (if you want to send a commission to Jill, it's because she was raving about it in Friday Night Chat...lol). One question about this that I'm confused about. If I use this on my sites but later decide to sell one, do I have to remove the theme to sell the site? My plans are to use them on my own sites but I want to be prepared if things should change down the road. Thanks, Tina |

I have just sent out the promised update. Sorry that it's late on parade - as soon as my own family left, some of the in-laws turned up unannounced and another lot will be showing up later today to meet up with the first. Aaargghh. I'm quite fond of my rellies really, but sometimes wonder why there have to be quite so many of them

Hi Diane, I have a related question... If I were to buy a regular license now, can I upgrade later to a developer's license or do I have to buy one from scratch? And just how similar to the Thesis theme is this (considering I just got a video course from someone who will explain how to handle the thesis theme (among others). Of course I much prefer the name "Abundance" to "Thesis." Don't ever want to write another one of the latter... But I'm open and receptive to plenty of the former ;-) Thanks. Elisabeth |

You'd have to upgrade to the developer licence - just PM me to sort something out. I honestly can't say how Abundance compares to Thesis as I have never used Thesis. I think I've read somewhere (not sure, so don't rely on this) that you have to edit the theme files with Thesis a bit to get the best from it, which you don't with Abundance, but that's only an impression I've got and I could well be wrong there. I certainly can't imagine that a video course would ever be necessary to explain how to handle Abundance, which would suggest that Abundance is a lot easier.

Thanks, Diana. Now I just realized I havce one more question... Since Hostgator is still on 2.8, and the theme says it's for WP 3.0 and up, does that mean that I can't use it until after I've upgraded to 3.0? Oh, and where do I get all those graphics? Are they included? Or at least a good bunch of them? Thanks so much. Elisabeth |

Hi again I'm on Hostgator too. After creating a WordPress install via Fantastico (which as you say is still only on 2.8 at the moment), I just log into the new admin and upgrade to 3.0 - there's usually a bar across the top of the screen you can click on to upgrade if your version of WordPress is anything less than the current one. It takes about a second to do. This latest version of the theme can't be used on WordPress versions prior to 3.0 as it will just generate an error. As for graphics, only the very basic default ones are included since one of the aims of the theme is to allow users to quickly create something that looks different to what everybody else is using. There is no reason why any two configurations of the theme should look the same, and I've even come across one configuration of the theme where I didn't even recognise at first that it was being used. This probably says as much about my lack of observational skills as it does about the theme However, most of the images I use can be picked up royalty-free on Photorack or found in the public domain on Wikimedia. Not all images on Wikimedia are in the public domain though, so be sure to check the terms.Hope that helps. |

I have bought many wordpress themes in the past and some were quite expensive and some with poor customer service that it makes it hard to tweak the theme. I have to say the abundance theme is my favorite theme now. It is so easy to work with for someone who is not a pro designer or a tech, I absolutely love it! |

I have one question: the background image, I would like to use the same as my twitter but it does not fit unless I use any repeat option but then it looks silly. What size should it be so that it does not repeat itself? (not sure if I am making any sense) Thanks |

There is a norepeat option, but it will probably look out of place at some screen widths if the edges of your image won't blend into the background colour. PM me the link if you like and I will see if I can help you come up with a solution. I have to go out in a minute, but I will be back in a couple of hours.

Thanks for this outstanding offer. I took advantage of it, now just have to see if someone as technologically challenged as me can work with it. I'm still trying to adapt to a push-button phone, still can't program a VCR, and think that this internet thing is just a fad. |

Version 7.1 of the theme has just gone out, featuring the option to widgetize the Header Ad Banner Area. This means that you can put Amazon banners or Adsense code in there instead of an image link if you want to, although widgetizing the Header Ad Banner Area won't work in conjunction with a flash header if you're using one of those. Secondly, I've reinstated manual image configuration options in addition to the theme's image upload facility for the minority who have problems with it due to an obscure server configuration. The User Guide has been updated accordingly, and there's a new troubleshooting section towards the end. |

Sorry if I missed any e-mails. Outlook was eating some of them and I didn't realise what was going on until I saw it doing it. I've changed the setting which was responsible (no idea how it came to be configured that way) and think I am caught up with any issues, but some e-mails may have vanished to places unseen. An update has just been sent out which addresses a comment formatting issue and gives the theme the ability to display descriptions at the top of category and tag archive pages if desired. |

Hi Diana! LOL, I just pm'd you, and then realized something else which I need to ask about. In the updates was there by chance the added option for content to go down the middle and have that nice skinny sidebar on each side? Or is it still just left or right? Thanks. |

The latest update to the theme has just gone out, featuring an option to include an Image Grid on the home page (rows of thumbnails stacked on top of each other in a grid layout, much like you find fronting many e-commerce themes). There's also a similar layout for Youtube video thumbnails, with these videos being pulled from posts (as are the images). You can also choose to include a large embedded YouTube video on the home page now instead of the Featured Content Gallery. Design options have been expanded so that it's possible to have several transparent page areas, as well as an optional box around content areas. Full integration with the free and fabulous 'WordPress SEO' plugin is now an option too, and so it's easy to show a breadcrumb trail to help with internal linking, plus a few other smaller bits and pieces too numerous to mention. |
