This Timer will Help you Stay Focused Online! You can also Write a Goal and See it Wherever you Go Online! How much money could you make if you didn't get distracted? Do you wish you could find the cure for procrastination? Are you looking for something to help you stay focused online? While trying to answer those questions I ran across two great suggestions: Write down your goals. Use a timer. This application lets you do both of those things at once! ![]() How does it work? Write a goal or message to display on the timer. This can be changed at any time. Set a timer to keep you focused on reaching a goal. The timer can count up or down. Receive an alert message when the time is up. This message can also be changed by you. You can set the timer to stay on top of all other windows. That way your goal and timer can always be in sight to keep you focused and motivated. Below is a link to a short video to show you how this application works: Online Message Timer Video Quote:

Hi, Holly!
You can sell it to your list or offer it as a bonus with another product. However, I would appreciate it if you could leave my name/contact in the About section. Good question. Thanks! |

Will this work on both PC and mac?
Also... Is there a way to set up more than one goal at a time... so, when the time for one goal is finished, the timer for the next goal automatically begins? |

This application has been tested and works well on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.
I am not positive if it will run on a Mac or not. Any Mac user available now to check this out? Let me know and I'll send you a free copy. Quote:
Let me add this feature. Free lifetime updates will be provided for all buyers.

I've only just bought this and already I love it. I've got another program somewhere with multiple timers etc and it does the job, when I can be bothered to set it up. Mostly I just want to crack on with stuff - if anything, I can be too focussed, and setting up complicated timers just gets in my way. Consequently, I'll usually fail to notice when it's time to pick the kids up from school or something vital, and I'll end up rushing up the road scaring passing cattle and generally looking like I've just been pulled through a hedge backwards.
This one takes seconds to set and doesn't get in the way, so I've got no excuses now. Thanks from me, and thanks from the stampeding cattle

Your welcome, Diana (and the cattle)!
Yes, I previously bought another program that has a series of timers and choices also. I rarely use it because it's just a little more complicated than I needed. Plus I wanted something that I could always see. PLUS I wanted a way to post a goal with the timer. I'm glad you love it as much as I do! Let me know if you have any suggestions for making it better and I'll send you a free updated version. |

I will definitely take one: I need a nice simple robot like that to defrazzle and redevelop my long lost complete-one-task-at-a-time mentality. Looking forward to all those lifetime updates too.
![]() Hmmm... My update suggestions: a secondary alert which can be set to nag me when there's only one hour left, or 10 minutes, or whatever - (just to add excitement and drama!) If I could record my own voice to sound the alerts, even better!! (self nagging )Thanks for this. Ken |

Great suggestions, Ken!
I would both like the secondary alert and the recordable alert sound ideas. Let me see what I can do.

Hi Paul
Just bought it out of interest because it looks like a nifty little product that's not an 'overkill' (and I'm a sucker for 'gadgetry' ![]() I think I know the other app that is being referred to and it's solid...there's no doubt about that, but yours is very nimble and probably good for anyone who doesn't want to procrastinate even more just because of fiddling around with settings and other stuff. Well done for keeping it simple...Life can be complex enough! Bayo |

Hi Paula,
I was psyched when I saw this "just-what-I-need" tool, especially priced sooo low! Leave it to me to be the one dufus buyer that has trouble setting up what looks like a snap. Your instructions are clear & simple. I was just about to write thanking you for making it so easy. But... 1. I set up the installer. Got msg: "Desktop Timer Setup has been successfully installed. Click 'Close' to exit." DONE. 2. Then I tried to install the software. Got this msg: "An error occurred attempting to install Desktop timer Setup. Unable to locate application file 'Desktop Timer Setup.msi'." 3. I went to the setup log file "for more inforrmation." Same thing: "Unable to locate application file 'Desktop Timer Setup.msi'" 4. So I tried to re-set up the installer in case it didn't really "take" the first time. It asked "Repair or Remove?" so obviously it was already there. I clicked "Repair" -- and ended up right back at #1 and #2 above. Now what? Thanks, Mary Louise |

Hi, Mary Louise!
I'm sorry you are having trouble getting the timer started. It is possible that the software installed automatically when you set up the installer. Do you see a timer icon on your desktop or programs? Try double-clicking that and seeing if it will work for you. Hopefully it is already installed and ready to go for you! |

So many uses you can put it to, and in fact I thought of another useful feature you could add: allow display and alert messages to be stored, so that you can select from frequently used texts instead of retyping each time. And while you're at it, can you get it to dispense gourmet coffee? ![]() Ken

Hi again, Ken! I'm glad you are still enjoying the timer and putting it to good use. ![]() Storing messages is another good idea. Thank you! I will try to add that in the updated version as well. Someone suggested via PM that the "Updated" message that pops up every time you change something is not necessary. Would you be okay with that being gone? or do you like it? Gourmet coffee? How about some peppermint mocha for the holidays? ![]() Thanks again for all your suggestions. I really appreciate it!

Well, DUH. There's the timer icon, right on my desktop. And it's working just fine. Thanks for your help, Paula. This really is a nifty little tool -- like an angel on my shoulder. ;-)

Paula ---
I have a Mac and so many times I have to skip on these wonderful offers. You mention a free copy to verify if it works properly on a Mac. I would love to get a copy and "test" it all to see if everything works properly! Is that offer still open? Thanks in advance for your answer, Wes ~ Quote:

Hi, Wes!
After doing some research it seems Mac users may need a platform (Cross Compiler) known as “MONO”, which can be installed on Linux or MAC and after installing, any of the .Net applications like this one work. I'd love it if you would test it out for us! Paula S
