What ARE Linkwheels?

What are linkwheels indeed? If you're new to search engine optimization (SEO), then you probably don't know what LinkWheels are... If you do, please bear with me as I share some insights with the newer warriors on the much debated Linkwheel structure..

LinkWheels got their popularity in about a few months back - as the maturity of Web 2.0 sites began to show. People LOVE such sites, and I bet that almost every avid internet user would probably be a member of at least one such Web 2.0 Site. Think Facebook..myspace, Youtube, flickr, blogspot and many many more!

These sites are highly regarded by users for their (usually) free and awesome services, and hence, search engines, whose aim is to ultimately please the internet user, began to favor such Web 2.0 sites more..

And hence, SEO enthuiasts being the adventurers they are, rode on the search engine love for these Web 2.0 sites and used these sites for their own business or ranking purposes.

At first it was just using these sites to build powerful backlinks to theirs..but as competition grew, so did their strategies.

The idea is to leverage the power of these web 2.0 sites by using them to create links to one another in a WHEEL-LIKE structure with YOUR main site as the focus site, the one in the middle of it all..

Then one day, news bearing the fall of the Linkwheels came..

Rumours began to spread: Search Engines absolutely hated Linkwheels, and think of them as an exploit to their algorithims.

No. Linkwheels are not effective. Or should I say..the Old Linkwheel Model isn’t as effective as it was when it just started making it’s rounds on the web.

Lately I have been utterly confused by the proliferation of social networking sites, and have been putting them in the “too hard” basket. I have previously ignored sites like Twitter and Facebook, as I considered them as sites more pertinent to my daughter than to me.

I have also been reading in various forums about a “linkwheel” strategy, again a subject about which I only had a vague idea.

I was therefore interested when Jeff’s “linkwheel SEO strategy” came to my attention.

It’s a 57 page e-book, plus videos. The e-book explained exactly what a linkwheel was, together with a diagram showing how all the pieces fitted together, while the videos showed me a step by step instruction on how and where to put the links on the various social networking sites for maximum impact.

Jeff also has a marvellous SEO software tool which completely automates the whole process, which will certainly appeal to time limited people like myself.

While the concept of spreading the link votes around various other sites (and therefore different IP addresses) to get the maximum amount of back links to your own site is not new, Jeff’s strategies certainly are.

Getting back links is now considered an essential part of raising your site’s online profile, considering that there is now a thought that Google places the importance of back links over the actual content of the site.

As a bonus, there is a refresher course on SEO basics, like keyword research strategies and on site optimization.

All in all, I was impressed with this e-book; I certainly got a lot out of it, and am now busily setting up my Twitter and Facebook accounts.

And Jeff delivers it all in a way that is thorough and comprehensive. I picked up several nuggets of gold that I did not know before.

Here is my list of the Pros & Cons of the program, followed by a summary and my final recommendation.

Positives:

1. Videos are very good, with solid, focused and confident voiceover for the most part.

2. Very good bonus URL resource pdf. This pdf includes an exhaustive (I'm not kidding!) list of places you can post articles, podcasts, profile backlinks, press releases etc for use in your linkwheel strategy. This information alone is practically worth the price of the course, in my opinion.

3. Extremely effective use of graphics and Web 2.0 property logos to very clearly illustrate what a linkwheel is, why it's so powerful, and how to avoid getting penalized by the search engines (it involves using what Jeff calls "the new linkwheel model" rather than the old one.)

4. On Video 2 at 6:40 Jeff shows a very good illustration of all the various ways you can sprinkle your backlinks around the internet. Things that you may have not even thought of before. Many of the methods shown are covered in the URL resource bonus, where he shows you exactly where to go for the not-so-obvious sites.

5. In Video 3.1 he walks you through a VERY detailed example of keyword research. Seemed to last forever, but ultimately for me it was worth the effort to sit through it, as I actually got a lot out of it. Also, just as I was thinking to myself "My god, I have to do all THAT by hand??" he announces that your purchase includes a free software tool (not yet available at the time of this review) to automate all those tedious keyword research steps! Sweet. As he says, the reason he takes you through all the steps in excrutiating detail is so you know what the software is doing once you start using it - that way, your keyword research will be more effective. Makes sense to me!

6. Video 3.2 -Onpage SEO: Once you have your 6 (or however many) keywords chosen, Jeff shows you how to properly weave them through your website. He also demonstrates proper site structure (flat vs deep) to maximize search engine spider love.

7. Video 3.2 at 35:00 mark - Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI): One of the best explanations of LSI that I've come across. What it is, why you need it & how to implement it. A+

8. Video 3.2 Good discussion of intrapage linking - why you need to do it & how to best carry it out.

9. Video 3.3: Very comprehensive treatment of article writing. Many useful tips and tricks. Presentation a bit slow and audio very low throughout Video 3.3, but jam-packed with actionable content. You may want to crank up the volume during this portion.

10. Video 3.4: Everything that came before was just appetizer. This is THE MAIN COURSE! This is where you watch Jeff actually create linkwheels on Web 2.0 properties from scratch. The process may be familiar to some, but if you've never used these things before, the content will be gold for you. Jeff doesn't waste any time here - he gets right to it creating accounts, posting articles, linking everything together - and you get to watch him do it. Good, solid terrific content that takes you by the hand & shows you exactly what to do. The audio is back to normal also (audio is too low in Video 3.3.)

11. The rest of Video 3.4 uses the same over-the-shoulder technique to walk you through how to bookmark your linkwheels, get backlinks to them and ping them. He also reveals a great (free) tool for tracking your results. Finally Video 3.4 ends with some critical tips & pointers that you must know if you're going to safely & effectively include a linkwheel strategy in your SEO arsenal.

12. Jeff includes a very nice bonus video - Video 4, which details how he actually implemented the entire linkwheel strategy taught in this course to promote a newly launched internet marketing product as an affiliate and obtained very high (and extensive) rankings in Google for that product's relevant buying keywords. The technique involves the use of a website that I had never heard about before, and the method looked solid to me. Jeff says it can make you some money in about a month or so after implementation. One thing I like about this guy is he doesn't hype it up. He's not the kind to get on the video & start promising you the stars & the moon. He just gives you the facts as he sees them, and tells you how to do things and then he says if you do these things in this way, you should make some money. I like that. It's realistic and refreshing.

And now the negatives I found in this product:

Negatives
1. Audio a bit poor in spots. There is a strange "tinny" or reverberating sound that comes & goes. Also volume sometimes goes way down. On Video 3.3 I turned volume to 100% & still had trouble hearing the audio in spots.

2. Upon extracting the zip file containing the videos and pdfs, there were 12 hidden tmp files & 2 hidden 1kb MS-Word documents. I guess they were mistakenly left after zipping or something, but it was confusing to see all those files (I have "show hidden files" turned on in Windows Explorer.) Maybe he removed them by now.

3. The pacing was sometimes a little slow, for example in Video 3.2 around the 20:00 mark, Jeff covers header tags and it gets a little pedantic. But still, very useful information. If any portion seems too detailed or slow (or it's something you already know) you can always just sit there & watch it and come back to it later, or skip that part. The info contained is definitely worth enduring the slow parts.

OVERALL I have to say this is a steal for the price. You get basically an entire step-by-step over-the-shoulder course in internet marketing, using linkwheels that are designed to avoid search engine penalties and maximize effectiveness. You get many very valuable tips & tricks and suggestions and insights that can only help you make more money, bottom line. And you get a bonus video & resource pdf that are themselves worth the price of the course. The negatives are few and not serious enough to degrade the value and usefulness of Jeff's product.

I recommend this product without reservation, and I thank Jeff Lam for the opportunity to obtain a review copy of the product. I am implementing many of these strategies in my own internet marketing efforts and I believe they will make me money. And that's the bottom line.

Nope, I did NOT list ALL dofollow web2.0 in my guide. I do provide quite a bit in the URLs.pdf bonus though, but definitely not ALL on the internet..!

However, they really aren't that hard to find!

Also, I do not believe in linking only from 'dofollow' sites. The Linkwheel SEO Strategy is effective using web 2.0 not because it only provides backlinks, BUT because your content when posted to these web 2.0 sites will extend your REACH out to more people via these web 2.0 channels!

it depends on how many hub of linkwheels you want to do. Generally one web 2.0 element will take about 30min-1hr, depending mainly on how long you take to write a unique article.

it will take about 2 days to a week, depending on your keywords selected. (how competitive it is)

Jeff Lam kindly provided review copies of both Version 1 and Version 2 of his linkwheel strategy course. Version 2 was vastly improved over Version 1. Here I review Version 2.

Jeff Lam has put together a very comprehensive course.The material covers a great deal more than just linkwheels.

In the videos and pdfs, Jeff teaches not only what linkwheels are, their advantages and disadvantages along with the best strategies to avoid sandboxing & deindexing problems inherent in the "old way" of doing linkwheels - but he also covers many other aspects of internet marketing as well!

Employing "over-the-shoulder" screen-capture video techniques, Jeff demonstrates internet marketing fundamentals such as keyword research, onsite optimization, generating unique content, article writing & marketing, bookmarking, getting backlinks, pinging & RSS feeds - pretty much the whole enchilada when it comes to internet marketing.

At the end he ties it all together and shows you exactly how to build and use linkwheels to get your moneypages found by searchers.

And Jeff delivers it all in a way that is thorough and comprehensive. I picked up several nuggets of gold that I did not know before.

Here is my list of the Pros & Cons of the program, followed by a summary and my final recommendation.

Positives:

1. Videos are very good, with solid, focused and confident voiceover for the most part.

2. Very good bonus URL resource pdf. This pdf includes an exhaustive (I'm not kidding!) list of places you can post articles, podcasts, profile backlinks, press releases etc for use in your linkwheel strategy. This information alone is practically worth the price of the course, in my opinion.

3. Extremely effective use of graphics and Web 2.0 property logos to very clearly illustrate what a linkwheel is, why it's so powerful, and how to avoid getting penalized by the search engines (it involves using what Jeff calls "the new linkwheel model" rather than the old one.)

4. On Video 2 at 6:40 Jeff shows a very good illustration of all the various ways you can sprinkle your backlinks around the internet. Things that you may have not even thought of before. Many of the methods shown are covered in the URL resource bonus, where he shows you exactly where to go for the not-so-obvious sites.

5. In Video 3.1 he walks you through a VERY detailed example of keyword research. Seemed to last forever, but ultimately for me it was worth the effort to sit through it, as I actually got a lot out of it. Also, just as I was thinking to myself "My god, I have to do all THAT by hand??" he announces that your purchase includes a free software tool (not yet available at the time of this review) to automate all those tedious keyword research steps! Sweet. As he says, the reason he takes you through all the steps in excrutiating detail is so you know what the software is doing once you start using it - that way, your keyword research will be more effective. Makes sense to me!

6. Video 3.2 -Onpage SEO: Once you have your 6 (or however many) keywords chosen, Jeff shows you how to properly weave them through your website. He also demonstrates proper site structure (flat vs deep) to maximize search engine spider love.

7. Video 3.2 at 35:00 mark - Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI): One of the best explanations of LSI that I've come across. What it is, why you need it & how to implement it. A+

8. Video 3.2 Good discussion of intrapage linking - why you need to do it & how to best carry it out.

9. Video 3.3: Very comprehensive treatment of article writing. Many useful tips and tricks. Presentation a bit slow and audio very low throughout Video 3.3, but jam-packed with actionable content. You may want to crank up the volume during this portion.

10. Video 3.4: Everything that came before was just appetizer. This is THE MAIN COURSE! This is where you watch Jeff actually create linkwheels on Web 2.0 properties from scratch. The process may be familiar to some, but if you've never used these things before, the content will be gold for you. Jeff doesn't waste any time here - he gets right to it creating accounts, posting articles, linking everything together - and you get to watch him do it. Good, solid terrific content that takes you by the hand & shows you exactly what to do. The audio is back to normal also (audio is too low in Video 3.3.)

11. The rest of Video 3.4 uses the same over-the-shoulder technique to walk you through how to bookmark your linkwheels, get backlinks to them and ping them. He also reveals a great (free) tool for tracking your results. Finally Video 3.4 ends with some critical tips & pointers that you must know if you're going to safely & effectively include a linkwheel strategy in your SEO arsenal.

12. Jeff includes a very nice bonus video - Video 4, which details how he actually implemented the entire linkwheel strategy taught in this course to promote a newly launched internet marketing product as an affiliate and obtained very high (and extensive) rankings in Google for that product's relevant buying keywords. The technique involves the use of a website that I had never heard about before, and the method looked solid to me. Jeff says it can make you some money in about a month or so after implementation. One thing I like about this guy is he doesn't hype it up. He's not the kind to get on the video & start promising you the stars & the moon. He just gives you the facts as he sees them, and tells you how to do things and then he says if you do these things in this way, you should make some money. I like that. It's realistic and refreshing.

And now the negatives I found in this product:

Negatives
1. Audio a bit poor in spots. There is a strange "tinny" or reverberating sound that comes & goes. Also volume sometimes goes way down. On Video 3.3 I turned volume to 100% & still had trouble hearing the audio in spots.

2. Upon extracting the zip file containing the videos and pdfs, there were 12 hidden tmp files & 2 hidden 1kb MS-Word documents. I guess they were mistakenly left after zipping or something, but it was confusing to see all those files (I have "show hidden files" turned on in Windows Explorer.) Maybe he removed them by now.

3. The pacing was sometimes a little slow, for example in Video 3.2 around the 20:00 mark, Jeff covers header tags and it gets a little pedantic. But still, very useful information. If any portion seems too detailed or slow (or it's something you already know) you can always just sit there & watch it and come back to it later, or skip that part. The info contained is definitely worth enduring the slow parts.

OVERALL I have to say this is a steal for the price. You get basically an entire step-by-step over-the-shoulder course in internet marketing, using linkwheels that are designed to avoid search engine penalties and maximize effectiveness. You get many very valuable tips & tricks and suggestions and insights that can only help you make more money, bottom line. And you get a bonus video & resource pdf that are themselves worth the price of the course. The negatives are few and not serious enough to degrade the value and usefulness of Jeff's product.

I recommend this product without reservation, and I thank Jeff Lam for the opportunity to obtain a review copy of the product. I am implementing many of these strategies in my own internet marketing efforts and I believe they will make me money. And that's the bottom line.

Content: 5/5 (Very high value. Overdelivers.)
Presentation: 4/5 (Pacing a bit slow in parts)
Price: 5/5 (Dirt cheap for what you get.)

In order to get the product he wants to send you through the process of joining his list. I think this is unscrupulous. Hi all, just received a support query from a buyer whom asked whether he can rank his site (which contains a main site AND a blog, something I also recommend) with his 3 keywords.

I will not reveal his niche or his 3 keywords due to privacy reasons, but let's refer them to keyword A, B and C.

Generally, these keywords are VERY competitive. However, I have formulated my response to him which I feel you guys may find it pretty useful!

If you see the true competition, keyword A still has a pretty high competition while keyword B and keyword C has lesser. I suggest you to use ALL 3 keywords as keyword variety (plus use the keyword bot to target more variety - at least 2 more) and start pumping out creative content and carry out the new linkwheel method.

Following that, create your backlinks with your keywords as your anchor text pointing to your main page, blog AND your web 2.0 element.

And remember the pointers I give you around the end of video 3.4 and follow them!

Keep at it, follow the new linkwheel rules and it will definitely improve in SERPS.

The MAIN THING? Create unique and interesting articles, content, images, etc! That in my opinion, will be the most important trait.

Hmmm. Now in my humble opinion I honestly feel that this is a rather big over-reaction!

Yes, one reason I ask my buyers to opt into a list (a totally separate list for this product of mine) is so I can provide you guys with any updates to the product (such as changes, errors, or any extra bonuses that I may give randomly ) and having you guys opt into a list is a much easier way to broadcast such messages.

If your MAIN concern is receiving messages from me containing SPAM, or maybe even affiliate offers, I completely understand.

However, I HAVE NOT and DO NOT do those, as I myself find them irritating (spam and people promoting affiliate offers all day long).

If you really hate it, please simply unsubscribe from the opt in list.

(FYI, yes, most products sold on Warrior Forum will keep track of their buyers' email if not for the same reasons too.)

However, I respect your decision, and as such, please provide me your transaction ID and email via PM/a support ticket which you purchase from and I'll gladly refund you your money.

And don't worry about keeping the product: consider it as my christmas gift to you (including the awesome bonuses in my opinion) AND as a sign of my apologies for inconveniencing you in this manner.

Basically, I have created a brand new autoresponder for this product alone, which contains no messages that carries SPAM or any other affiliate product promotions, or any other form of internet marketing.

It is purely used to provide more value for my buyers.

As for any tips you received from my list..that's the SEOmated Notification List, a completely different autoresponder.

Huh! I have not been able to download anything but corrupt zips. I have no idea what is wrong with them. I have tried downloading with Chrome, IE, Firefox, and Navigator, and each time I get corrupt file less than 3MB. I have no clue whassup but this is really not working for me.

What can I say..?

1) WSO Pro has a system in which it automatically pulls any buyer of the product's email address into the seller's autoresponder. Yes. If you have bought any product here using WSO Pro, chances are your email has been put into a 'list' of the seller.

Yes, this is done without giving you ANY OPT IN information: ie, there is no confirmation email, or opt in email to tell you that your email is being put on a list.

However, I had a opt in box because WSO Pro does not support the autoresponder that I used. Also, my auto responder follows the CAN SPAM law, which means that it does NOT allow me to have any user opt in WITHOUT a confirmation email.

Hence, the opt in box. Also, with the email sent, I provide the download link to my buyers so it is a good way to allow my buyers to have a record of the download URL in case they need to refer to it again.

2) I understand you guys do not like the idea of a forced opt in, but I (or most sellers, in fact) require their buyer's contacts so as to follow up with customer service. Again, I stress, the reason we want your contact (email in this case) is so as to FOLLOW UP with customer service.

That means, as and when I have an update for this product (which I am going to have soon) I will announce it to my buyers via email using the list.

3) If you really really hate it, you are allowed to unsubscribe from the list AT ANY TIME. Very easily done.

Anyways, to conclude, as customers are always right, that I will change the download page so that for the future buyers that are buys this package of mine, you will be sent to the page where you can download everything. I will put the opt in box to the list for those who want to receive any emails for any updates or changes I have to this product.

I had a PM from a buyer regarding some bot questions. Posting it up as it may be of interest to you potential buyers.

I'm not very PC-savvy, so please bear with me.

I'm currently running FireFox and I suspect I have relatively little extra capacity (room or resources?) available to install the stuff you recommended before I run the bonus KW bots.

1) I have IE 7.0.5xxx installed. Is that close enough for the bots to run OK, or should I really upgrade to vsn. 8.0?

2a.) What is a "Microsoft .NET Framework"? (I mean, what's it for, in general; how big of a download is it; and, will that cause my system to slow down or interfere with my running FireFox?)

2b.) How do I "patch it to 3.5" ... "3.5" what?!

3) What is "excel viewer" and do I need it if I already have the Excell Spread Sheet application?

4) I thought Word Tracker was a paid service. Does your bot use the free version with a limited number of KWs in its data base?

Before I go to a lot of trouble with the above installations, maybe you can tell me (briefly) what the output of these 2 bots is. (Better yet, maybe you could show me an example.) I mean, what do these bots show me that my running Google's Tool and Word Tracker (the free version?) wouldn't, or my do an exact Google search wouldn't?

Thank you very much for your question!

1) It is highly recommended that you upgrade to IE8. The bots were created to run perfectly, or as it is intended to be, on IE8. I have yet to test any version below that, but from my experience these bots STILL work on versions below IE8.

It is just that I recommend IE8 to ensure less errors for most users. I suggest you do not install IE8 first and run the bots, and if there are any errors, THEN you install IE8.

2) Honestly speaking, I am not a programmer or coder as well. However, Microsoft .NET basically allows software that is coded from ASP.NET, among other .NET coding language to run on one's computer properly.

I realised the link to download the .NET framework in my readme is outdated. This should be the latest link:

Perhaps if you are interested you may read more in-depth information there! However, I must say that the .NET framework is a very useful framework to have installed on your computer, especially with more software being programmed in the .NET language.

3) Basically excel viewer allows you to view excel files! If you have Microsoft Excel Spread sheet installed, you do not need another program to view excel files.

4) Basically the bots help you do certain tedious tasks automatically. You CAN do these tasks yourself, but the bot saves you quite a bit (or a lot, depending on your number of keywords!) of time!

For e.g, Keyword bot will proceed to Google Adword Tool and the FREE version of wordtracker with your inputted keyword, and obtain all the data from these pages before compiling them in an excel spread sheet for your easy viewing. This process may take us about 5 minutes, and perhaps longer if we want to format it to look better, but the software does it in about 2 minutes without you doing any formatting work whatsoever.

The competition bot is a real time saver. Basically it takes all your keywords in the list you choose (in .txt, notepad file!), and proceeds to all 3 search engines (Yahoo, Google, Bing) and helps you find out the search results for all your keywords in all various commands (exact, broad, quotes, in title only, in anchor text, etc etc) for you automatically.

If you were to do that yourself, for about say 5 keywords, it'll take at least 10 minutes with a lot of tedious typing and formatting to put into a file.

However, the bot does it all in about 5 minutes automatically and compiles them neatly into a excel spread sheet for you.

Note: I will be releasing an update to the package which will teach you how to further refine the use of a NEW Linkwheel Strategy Method. This method is NEVER before seen and used, as far as I know. I will be posting a message to all buyers via the autoresponder, hence only buyers who are in the list will be informed. (Plus an update post here).
